Three-Dimensional Localization Algorithm for Mixed Near-Field and Far-Field Sources Based on Esprit and Music Method

Abstract: A three-dimensional (3-D) source localization algorithm of joint elevation, azimuth angles and range estimation for the mixed near-field (NF) and far-field (FF) sources is presented in this paper. We first estimate the elevation angles of all mixed sources by using the generalized ESPRIT method. With the elevation angle estimates, the range parameters of all mixed sources are obtained, and then both the NF and FF sources are distinguished. Finally, with the elevation angle and range estimates, the azimuth angles of all mixed sources are acquired based on the conventional high-resolution MUSIC method. The proposed algorithm avoids parameter match operation, and requires neither a multidimensional search nor high-order statistics (HOS). Simulation and experiment results show the performance of the proposed algorithm in this paper.

Abstract: An underwater acoustic sensing array was presented in this article. With the high-precision sampling clock generation and transmission system, the array can acquire signals synchronously in sub-microsecond level, which is important in offshore environment. Meanwhile, real-time data transmission and storage system was established. All of the data received in host computer can be saved and displayed immediately. Data acquisition experiment was implemented in freshwater reservoir near Tianjin city,China, and the results of the signal wave show that the acquisition and transmission system of hydrophone array can be used to get the underwater information by acoustic exploration.

Abstract: AIM: To investigate the expression pattern of gamma-aminobutyric acid A (GABAA) receptors in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and indicate the relationship among gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor α3 subunit (GABRA3) and HCC.METHODS: HCC cell line Chang, HepG2, normal liver cell line L-02 and 8 samples of HCC tissues and paired non-cancerous tissues were analyzed with semiquantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the expression of GABAA receptors. HepG2 cells were treated with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at serial concentrations (0, 1, 10, 20, 40 and 60 μmol/L), and their proliferating abilities were analyzed with the 3-(4, 5-methylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, cell doubling time test, colon formation assay, cell cycle analysis and tumor planted in nude mice. Small interfering RNA was used for knocking down the endogenous GABRA3 in HepG2. Proliferating abilities of these cells treated with or without GABA were analyzed.RESULTS: We identified the overexpression of GABRA3 in HCC cells. Knockdown of endogenous GABRA3 expression in HepG2 attenuated HCC cell growth, suggesting its role in HCC cell viability. We determined the in vitro and in vivo effect of GABA in the proliferation of GABRA3-positive cell lines, and found that GABA increased HCC growth in a dose-dependent manner. Notably, the addition of GABA into the cell culture medium promoted the proliferation of GABRA3-expressing HepG2 cells, but not GABRA3-knockdown HepG2 cells. This means that GABA stimulates HepG2 cell growth through GABRA3.CONCLUSION: GABA and GABRA3 play important roles in HCC development and progression and can be a promising molecular target for the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for HCC.

Abstract: The structures of Cun-1Au clusters are examined using the genetic algorithm, and the static polarizabilities and optical absorption spectra are investigated by first principles computations within the static and time-dependent versions of the density functional theory. The static polarizabilities decrease after being doped by one Au atom due to the strengthened screening effect of d electrons, which can also be weakened by three-dimensional structures. The optical spectra computed within the time-dependent density functional theory indicate that the screening effect also leads to the quenching of oscillator strengths. A deeper analysis of d-orbit indicates d-orbit is the main contributor in the optical excitation while its growing up is not directly influenced by the strengthened screening effect. The research on Cu6-nAun (n=0–6) clusters in a fixed size system verifies our arguments further. Our calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental data on the optical absorption spectra, which are closer to the experimental data than the earlier theoretical results.

Abstract: The three-dimensional coordination polymer, [Eu2(C6H2O4S)3(H2O)4]n, has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises one Eu3+ cation, two aqua ligands and one and a half thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylate anions (the half-anion being completed by a twofold rotation axis). The Eu3+ cation is eight-coordinated in a distorted dodecahedral geometry. The crystal structure features O—H...O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract: In the polymeric title compound, {[Ag(C8H10N4S4)]ClO4·1.5H2O}n, the AgI atom has a slightly distorted trigonal-planar coordination geometry provided by three N-atom donors from the thiadiazole rings of three symmetry-related 2,2′-[butane-1,4-diylbis(sulfanediyl)]bis(1,3,4-thiadiazole) ligands. Centrosymmetrically related AgI atoms are bridged by the N–N fragments of rings, forming six-membered dinuclear metallacycles, which are further linked by the alkyl spacers of the thiadiazole ligands into a layer network extending parallel to (0-21). The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion and one water molecule are disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancy ratios of 0.640 (6):0.360 (6) and 0.663 (11):0.337 (11), respectively. The second water molecule shows half-occupancy.
Regulatory effect of transcription factors RORγt on the Th17/Treg balances in pregnant asthma mice

Abstract: Objective  To observe the expression changes in Th17-related cytokines and retinoid acid receptor-related orphan receptor gamma t (RORγt) in mouse model of asthma during pregnancy, and to explore the effects of dexamethasone (DXM) on Th17 cell secretory function and airway inflammation in mice. Methods  Thirty female BALB/c mice were divided into three groups at random (n=10 per group): healthy pregnancy (HP) group, asthma in pregnancy (AP) group and dexamethasone (DXM) treated group (DXM group). The mice were treated as follows: those in AP and DXM groups were sensitized with an intraperitoneal injection of chicken ovalbumin-aluminum hydroxide [OVA/A1(OH)3] suspension on days 0, 7 and 14. The HP mice were sensitized with normal saline (NS) following the same protocol. All the mice were then bred with male BALB/c male mice. Pregnant mice in AP and DXM groups were exposed to 40-minute of 50g/L OVA aerosol for seven consecutive days starting from day 21. Dexamethasone in a dose of 1mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally in DXM mice 30 minutes before inhaling 50g/L OVA aerosol, while the HP group received NS only. The airway responsiveness to corresponding concentrations of inhaled acetylcholine was recorded 24h after the final OVA challenge. The index of airflow obstruction was expressed as enhanced pause (Penh) and its mean value after each nebulization. The airway tone is further expressed as the Penh(%) after being normalized by the baseline value. Total and differential cell counts in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were carried out in each sample. The histological changes in the lungs were assessed using light microscopy. The propotions of Th17 and Treg cell in mice peripheral blood cells were calculated and the Th17/Treg ratio was determined by flow cytometry. IL-17, IL-23, IFN-γand RORγt levels in the serum of mice were quantified by using ELISA technique. RT-PCR and Western blotting were performed to determine the levels of IL-17, RORγt, IL -23 and IFN-γin serum, and RORγt protein in lung tissues respectively. Results  After being sensitized by OVA, the increased total and differential cell counts (Eos, Lym and Neu) in BALF, the increased airway hyper-responsiveness and the histological changes of lung tissues were in line with the features of asthma. In AP group, Th17 cells in peripheral blood significantly increased, while the Treg T cells significantly decreased (P < 0.05). The increased Th17/Treg ratio suggested that there was an imbalance of Th17/Treg ratio in this group. The change trend of cells in DXM group was the same as that in AP grou
