A Comparison of Sufficiency Condtions for the Goldbach and the Twin Primes Conjectures  [PDF]

Abstract:

It is generally known that under the generalized Riemann hypothesis one could establish the twin primes conjecture by the circle method, provided one could obtain the estimate o (nlog-2 n) for the integral of the representation function over the minor arcs. One of the new results here is that the assumption of GRH can be removed. We compare this and other such sufficiency results with similar results for the Goldbach conjecture.

Using Microgripper in Development of Automatic Adhesive Glue Transferring and Binding Microassembly System  [PDF]

Abstract: A system using microgripper for gluing and adhesive bonding in automatic microassembly was designed, implemented, and tested. The development of system is guided by axiomatic design principle. With a compliant PU microgripper, regional-edge-statistics (RES) algorithm, and PD controller, a visual-servoing system was implemented for gripping micro object, gluing adhesive, and operating adhesive bonding. The RES algorithm estimated and tracked a gripper’s centroid to implement a visual-servoing control in the microassembly operation. The main specifications of the system are: gripping range of 60~80μm, working space of 7mm×5.74mm×15mm, system bandwidth of 15Hz. In the performance test, a copper rod with diameter 60μm was automatically gripped and transported for transferring glue and bonding. The 60μm copper rod was dipped into a glue container and moved, pressed and bonding to a copper rod of 380μm. The amount of binding glue was estimated about 5.7nl.

Abstract: RESUMO: Resumo: Avaliou-se o emprego da associa § £o tiletamina-zolazepam, administrada pelas vias intramuscular (IM) e intravenosa (IV) em um mesmo animal. Foram pesquisados 30 c £es, divididos em 3 grupos de 10 (5 machos e 5 f ameas), que receberam tratamentos distintos sendo que todos os animais foram submetidos a procedimentos cir orgicos variados. Foram realizados os seguintes tratamentos: Grupo 1 a 10 mg/kg de peso, IM e, ap 3s 15 minutos, 5 mg/kg IV, da mesma associa § £o. Grupos 2 e 3, os mesmos crit rios do Grupo1, por m, nas doses de 8 mg/kg, IM e 3 mg/kg IV e 6 mg/kg IM e 3 mg/kg IV, respectivamente. Doses complementares da anestesia foram administradas quando necess rio. Todos os c £es foram pr -medicados com sulfato de atropina. Durante 120 minutos foram registrados os valores da temperatura retal, das freq ancias card -aca e respirat 3ria, a ocorr ancia de vocaliza § £o, midr -ase, de rea § £o est -mulos dolorosos, a presen §a dos reflexos protetores e mioclonias. Foram tamb m anotados o tempo de indu § £o anest sica, o tempo de anestesia cir orgica e o tempo de despertar. Realizaram-se registros eletrocardiogr ficos e de gasometria sang -nea. Dentro das condi § μes de experimento concluiu-se que a associa § £o anest sica bastante segura e destitu -da de efeitos colaterais. A inje § £o IM para o efeito sedativo, que permita a realiza § £o do pr -operat 3rio, seguida da inje § £o IV, visando o efeito anest sico, resultou em maior seguran §a, maior dura § £o do plano anest sico e, em conseq ancia, mais facilidade para o trabalho do anestesista. Thirty dogs were used, divided into three groups of ten (five males and five females) which received different treatments: Group 1: received 10 mg/kg body weight, via IM and, after 15 minutes, 5 mg/kg body weight, via IV, of the association. Group 2: same treatment as in group 1, using the dose of 8 mg/kg body weight via IM and, after 15 minutes, 3 mg/kg body weight, via IV. Group 3: same treatment as in group 1, using the doses of 6 mg/kg body weight via IM and, after 15 minutes, 3 mg/kg body weight via IV. Supplemental doses were applied when necessary. Abstract: The use of effective Darboux transformations for general classes Lax pairs is discussed. The general construction of ``binary'' Darboux transformations preserving certain properties of the operator, such as self-adjointness, is given. The classes of Darboux transformations found include the multicomponent BKP and CKP reductions of the KP hierarchy.
Infrared dynamic polarizability of HD+ rovibrational states

Abstract: A calculation of dynamic polarizabilities of rovibrational states with vibrational quantum number $v=0-7$ and rotational quantum number $J=0,1$ in the 1s$\sigma_g$ ground-state potential of HD$^+$ is presented. Polarizability contributions by transitions involving other 1s$\sigma_g$ rovibrational states are explicitly calculated, whereas contributions by electronic transitions are treated quasi-statically and partially derived from existing data [R.E. Moss and L. Valenzano, \textit{Molec. Phys.}, 2002, \textbf{100}, 1527]. Our model is valid for wavelengths $>4~\mu$m and is used to to assess level shifts due to the blackbody radiation (BBR) electric field encountered in experimental high-resolution laser spectroscopy of trapped HD$^+$ ions. Polarizabilities of 1s$\sigma_g$ rovibrational states obtained here agree with available existing accurate \textit{ab initio} results. It is shown that the Stark effect due to BBR is dynamic and cannot be treated quasi-statically, as is often done in the case of atomic ions. Furthermore it is pointed out that the dynamic Stark shifts have tensorial character and depend strongly on the polarization state of the electric field. Numerical results of BBR-induced Stark shifts are presented, showing that Lamb-Dicke spectroscopy of narrow vibrational optical lines ($\sim 10$ Hz natural linewidth) in HD$^+$ will become affected by BBR shifts only at the $10^{-16}$ level.
