Pyodermitis
Empinotti, Júlio César;Uyeda, Hirofumi;Ruaro, Roseli Terezinha;Galhardo, Ana Paula;Bonatto, Danielle Cristine;
Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0365-05962012000200013
Abstract: pyodermitis are primary skin infections mainly caused by pyogenic bacteria of the staphylococcus and streptococcus genera. they are relatively common diseases that affect adults and children. there have been frequent reports of bacterial resistance to the recommended antibiotics over the last few years; however, new substances are in use or under development, and this represents an evolution in the treatment of pyodermitis. this review aims at describing clinical, diagnostic and therapeutical features of major pyodermitis: impetigo, ecthyma, erysipelas, staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome and folliculitis.
Os problemas do fundacionismo
Burdzinski, Júlio César;
Kriterion: Revista de Filosofia , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-512X2007000100007
Abstract: this work analyses the epistemological foundationism, one of the most important alternatives of answers to the problem of the epistemic return. in particular, the author intends to systematize those he believes to be the basic difficulties that the foundacionist proposal must overcome to solve, reasonably, the problem of return. thus, he follows the two principal subjects through which the contemporary foundationism moves, namely, the internalistic truth and the externalistic truth. in this follow up, the notions of 'epistemic justification' and of 'basic belief' are preferably evaluated.
Uma certa tendência do documentário brasileiro contemporaneo (Usos e abusos do estudo de comunidade, como método, e da entrevista, como técnica de pesquisa)
Lobo,Júlio César;
Palabra Clave , 2008,
Abstract: the article analyzes four brazilian documentaries inspired by the community studies method and structured on a collage of interviews as the final discourse. these narratives are problematic, even in terms of the interviews and the testimonies themselves. far from being a dialogue set on stage, they reflect an attempt at transparency on the part of the filmmaker. in our opinion, this leads to serious ethical infractions, primarily because it reveals, without intermediation, the intimacy of those being interviewed. for example, it would free a couple taking advantage of the documentary, and its limited reception, of any inhibitions about expressing their disagreements. the study is ba-sed on santa marta: duas semanas no morro (rj, 2000); babil?nia 2000 (rj 2000), edificio master (rj, 2002), all directed by e. coutinho; and nem gravata, nem honra (sp, 2003), directed by m. masag?o.
Os experimentos de Joule e a primeira lei da termodinamica
Passos, Júlio César;
Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Física , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-11172009000300013
Abstract: the formulation of the principle of conservation of energy is an example of the long maturation, almost two and a half centuries, of an idea that became one of the fundamental laws of physics whose generalization was attained when it was formalized as the first law of thermodynamics. in this paper, an analysis of the different formulations of the first law is presented, aimed at rescuing historic information that could contribute to the teaching of thermodynamics. it is shown that by the end of the nineteenth century it was already difficult to affirm who discovered the principle of equivalence of energy, because several scholars were interested in this subject, and how the meticulous experiments of joule allowed the demonstration of equivalence among different kinds of energy and contributed definitively to the elaboration of the first law of thermodynamics.
Isaiah Berlin: afirma??o e limita??o da liberdade
Casarin, Júlio César;
Revista de Sociologia e Política , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-44782008000100017
Abstract: this text offers a critical analysis of the liberal concept of freedom as it has been elaborated by isaiah berlin, who has understood it basically in the negative. this understanding of freedom, in its numerous formulations, has remained hegemonic within contemporary debates on freedom, rights and their circumstances. based on such considerations, we have tried to demonstrate that when freedom is conceived of in the negative, it is unable to promote individual autonomy - exactly that which it supposedly exists in order to protect - without resorting to a project of distributive justice that takes elements of the socialist-inspired critique of liberalism into account.
