Journal of Inflammation , 2012, DOI: 10.1186/1476-9255-9-13
Abstract: We aimed to measure oxidative and inflammatory markers, along with the markers of reactive nitrogen species, S-nitrosothiols and 3-nitrotyrosine, in BD patients (n = 100) and healthy volunteers (n = 50). These markers were evaluated in regard to their role in the pathogenesis of BD as well as their relation to clinical presentation, disease activity and duration.Median values for erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein, leukocyte count, and IL-18 levels, as well as myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, were statistically higher in the patient group compared to controls. Some inflammation markers (ESR, neutrophil and leukocyte counts) were statistically higher (p < 0.05) in the active period. In contrast, oxidative stress-associated measures (erythrocyte lipid peroxidation, antioxidant enzymes and measures of serum antioxidant capacity), revealed no statistically significant differences between the median values in BD patients versus healthy control subjects (p > 0.05 in all statistical comparisons), nor was there any difference in median levels of these oxidative stress markers in active disease versus disease remission. S-nitrosothiols and 3-nitrotyrosine were undetectable in BD plasma. The application of oxidative stress-associated measures to BD blood samples offered no supplemental diagnostic or disease activity information to that provided by standard laboratory measures of inflammation. S-nitrosothiols and 3-nitrotyrosine appeared not to be markers for active BD; thus the search for biochemical markers that will indicate the active period should be continued with larger studies.Behcet's disease (BD) is a multisystem, chronic inflammatory, relapsing disorder that is characterized by oral and genital ulcerations and ocular, arthritic, vascular and neurological involvement. Its diagnosis is generally clinical with a higher endemic rate in Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Korea and Japan. There is no biochemical parameter showing the active phase of the disease, othe

Die Wirkung von Nicorandil auf koronare Ereignisse bei Patienten mit stabiler Angina pectoris: Die randomisierte Impact Of Nicorandil in Angina (IONA)-Studie
IONA Studiengruppe

Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Bra?ov. Series VII : Social Sciences and Law , 2012,
Abstract: The domicile or residence of a person is inviolable, as guaranteed in the Constitution and by the European Convention on Human Rights. However, inviolability of the home is not absolute and unconditional, the domestic law and European Human Rights Convention establish exceptions from this principle. Besides the fact that the search is an exception from the principle of inviolability as its effect is the restriction on the exertion of certain rights or freedoms recognized and guaranteed, its disposition or accomplishment under the rule of law must be completed under the circumstances stipulated by the law.
The administrative agreement as a legal form for public services in comparative and roman law
Cristina IONA
Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Bra?ov. Series VII : Social Sciences and Law , 2012,
Abstract: Doctrinal discussions on the administrative agreement have arisen along with the economic, social and industrial development of European countries. The principle of separation of powers adopted in France after the Revolution of 1789, the need to protect private law subjects, has become increasingly necessary as private subjects may be affected by the exercise of public power. Gradually, given the need to protect the interest of both public and private sectors, it has been proceeded to create a system of administrative law, separate from the common law system.
The lawyer civil liability
Matefi, R.,Iona, D.
Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Bra?ov. Series VII : Social Sciences and Law , 2010,
Abstract: The article deals with the lawyer civil liability, with its two forms, namely the tort and the contractual liability, a question of real interest as the civil liability cases are much more numerous than many other criminal or disciplinary cases. We focused on the regulation and content of the lawyer civil liability, analyzing the provisions of Law no 51/1995 regarding the organization and exercise of advocacy in Romania and also on the provisions of the Statute of advocacy and that of the Code of Ethics.
The Tourist Regionalisation of Dobrudja
Romanian Review of Regional Studies , 2006,
Abstract: Taking into account tourism types and forms, the features of the natural, social, and of the economic environment, the attractive resources, and the touristic infrastructure, Dobrudja is a region consisting of four areas: the Danube river meadow, the Danube Delta and the Razim-Sinoie lake complex, the South-Dobrudjan seacoast, and the Dobrudjan Tableland. The main features of this touristic region are: diverse and attractive resources favourable for the development of two touristic activity categories characteristic of this region (e.g. ecotourism and agritourism); curative resources favourable for spas and recreational tourism; entertaining opportunities; the highest density of tourist areas in Romania.
Looking for Mecenas: Mechanisms and processes of party finance in post-communist Romania
Alexandra Iona?cu,Sorina Soare
Sfera Politicii , 2012,
Abstract: The process of party building in the CEE democracies was intimately linked to formal and informal aspects of colonising State resources. While party regulations became more articulated, Romanian parties have taken advantage of an intricate arrangement of private and public resources for guaranteeing their financial survival. Hence, our paper aims at providing a general overview of the Romanian parties’ financial (re)sources over the last decade. Within this context, party’s members assumed a peculiar role, acting both as legitimacy providers and means of economic survival.
