Discussion Article: Disciplinary Boundaries for Creativity  [PDF]

Abstract: Creativity is a very topical issue and indeed a political one. For example, the very notion of ‘little c creativity’ seems to be a reflection of the requirements of what could be described as a ‘Post-Fordist’ economy. However, the call to develop creativity in education is largely based on the idea of creativity as the production of novel ideas. The central argument of this article is that creativity cannot be seen purely in terms of novel ideas but that it is intrinsically bound with the teaching of the academic disciplines. It is within the context of creativity in the sense of transforming the disciplines that two paradoxes are discussed. The first paradox is that the truly creative act is not the preserve of the genius but the potential for the whole of humanity. Secondly, creativity involves both thinking within the constraints of the discipline and challenging those constraints. This implies the need for students to engage in meta-discourse, involving the nature and history of the subject-matter taught.

Abstract: The aim of this study is to describe the speech act of girls facing handball play situations and then see how to construct efficient action rules. The used method is choosing a descriptive, exploratory and heuristic analysis of the discursive practices of a group of girls (8 hoursof effectivelessons, 14 girls aged 14, T =12 hours of actual practice). The study includes analyze of girl’s speech during the debate of idea’s situa-tion. On the other hand,we aim the extraction of effective action rules. The quantitative study showed that speech productions increase notably more than the evolution of action rules formulation during the cycle. The qualitative analysis showed that the decisions made by the girls guide to re-question the relationship to knowledge in the educative cycles using collective sport games. Added to that, integrating moments where students can debate and share opinions about the game is didactically interesting in order to broaden and refine their repertoire of solutions to win.

With the reform and opening up of china, and the globalization of economy, Chinese enterprises are facing more and more complex financial environment, especially since 2008 financial crisis, the government's macro-control, the relative appreciation of RMB, rising labor costs and other non-financial constraints factors, have greatly changed the financial management content, objectives, theory, methods, and ways of working etc, enterprises financial management are suffering from a huge challenge. This paper analyzes the main problems of Chinese enterprises in financial management, and gives some suggestions to work out these problems.

Abstract: The debate about innetivism is not a new subject in philosophy. From the earlier philosophers up to the recent ones, the main question that remains is: men are born with some ideas or we only know through experience? In this study, the emphasis will not be the process of human knowledge but the controversy in the objection of Locke to the innate Idea. From the beginning of his objection, John Locke shows that we are born with empty mind. Then through experience we build the knowledge little by little. But later on, Locke recognizes that it’s also possible that children may have some ideas from the womb. They may experience wants, diseases, hunger, and heat. To him many of those ideas which were produced in the minds of children, in the beginning of their sensation, if they are not repeated in future, then they are quite lost. If we choose the fact that people are born with ideas from pre-experience, that view is more scientific and more logical than the religious view of Plato. The paper concludes that even though there is no complete agreement on how innate ideas are made, we did not come in the world with blank mind and what is important is not how innate ideas have been made but their existence and application in life.

Abstract: The idea of a debate of ideas is part of an innovative conception of the teaching/learning system at school, in which knowledge is developed with the help of peers and the teacher. The debate of ideas first appears as a situation of verbalization about action intended to make aware of the task to be carried out and the instructions that characterize it. To evaluate its effects, we will take data from the experimentation of Zerai (2009) and give us a triangulation between the result and the score of the encounters, quantitative data (balls played, balls conquered, etc.) and a qualitative data: the roadmap. We will try to test the contributions of peer interactions. The methodology used was to observe and retrieve data on a group of Tunisian second-year girls from Thala Secondary High School in a handball cycle. In this group of twenty girls, we organized four sub-groups to form the teams. The chosen triangulation allows an indirect measure of the effectiveness of the debate of ideas. The performance of the team (the ratio of shots to the number of goals) appears very quickly as a trigger for concertation between the players. The observation made collectively on the losses of the ball will also, very quickly generate reactions. The roadmap relies more on the planned strategy and the changes of roles within the team that it implies. In conclusion, comparing the selected indicators provides a realistic way of assessing the adequacy between interactions and progress in the game. This type of work emphasizes the time needed to succeed. One of the achievements of the research in didactics of collective sports at school is that the learning of a game can not be conceived without an important practice. For pupils, a real learning in collective sports games lies, in situations of problem gambling, to observe, to extract, to evaluate the information more and more relevant to reduce the time of analysis, and thus of decision to act on the opposition reports.

Abstract: Philosophy was once considered as an authority that could guide and command people in various spheres of life. However, by the end of the nineteenth century, philosophy no longer enjoyed the place of an authority and science replaced it as the new authority. Nietzsche has criticized this change and asserted that philosophy as the study of whole being, should be restored to its proper place. Nietzsche expressed his ideas about the role of a philosopher in guiding a civilization, a century ago. His ideas about the role of a philosopher, who a philosopher is, what kind of difficulties lie between him and his tasks and what eventually is the task of a philosopher are very much needed in the 21st century and bear a universal meaning. This article reviews Nietzsche’s ideas on philosophy and philosopher in general.

Profile Difference Between Male and Female Psychiatric Patients Seeking Certificate of Disability

Abstract: Objective: Neuropsychiatric disorders are one of the major contributors to the global burden of disease and disability. Issue of disability in psychiatric disorders has been studied across multiple studies in India. However, there are no reports on the profile and nature of disability among those seeking disability certificates. The current study aims at understanding the socio-clinical profile of patients seeking disability certificate in a tertiary care hospital in India. Methods: The study was carried out in the Department of Psychiatry of a tertiary care multispecialty teaching hospital. A chart review of the records of the patients referred for disability evaluation over a one year period was conducted. The disability was assessed using IDEAS. In between group comparisons were carried out for male and female subjects for different sociodemographic variables, IDEAS total score and individuals item score using independent sample t test (parametric test) and Mann Whitney-U test (non parametric test). Additionally, Spearman’s rank order correlation was calculated to establish the level of correlation between total IDEAS score and score on individual items of the scale. Results: The subjects were diagnosed to have been suffering from mental retardation 107 (61.8 schizophrenia 54 (31.2 dementia 5 (2.9 bipolar affective disorder 4 (2.3 20and obsessive compulsive disorder 3 (1.7 20as per ICD-10. Abstract: This essay attempts to situate Heidegger’s critique of modernity’s technological worldview within the conceptual context and time frame of his Nietzsche lectures of the 1930’s. Heidegger discovers in Nietzsche’s thought the “consummation of metaphysics” and in Nietzsche’s concept of “will to power” an articulation of the world dominating principle reflecting modernity’s comportment with beings as mere resources for consumption. Such a principle voices the utter destruction of Being and obliterates any possibility for the more considerate disclosure of beings in a non-technological way.
