Design, Modeling and Analysis of Implementing a Multilayer Piezoelectric Vibration Energy Harvesting Mechanism in the Vehicle Suspension  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper deals with the design, modeling and analysis of implementing a Multilayer Piezoelectric Vibration Energy Harvesting (ML PZT VEH) Mechanism in the vehicle suspension. The principle of work of the proposed ML PZT VEH mechanism is reducing the relative motion of the suspension, amplifying the applied force to the PZT by a specific design of mechanism and combining a single layer PZT into multilayer PZT to increase the produced electricity. To maintain the performance of suspension as the original suspension, the ML PZT VEH mechanism is mounted in series with the spring of the suspension. The proposed ML PZT VEH mechanism and its implementation to the vehicle suspension were mathematically modeled. Responses of the vehicle before and after implementing ML PZT VEH mechanism were simulated. The results show the proposed mechanism can produce output voltage of 2.75 and power of 7.17 times bigger than direct mounting to the vehicle suspension. And the simulation result shows that mounting ML PZT VEH mechanism in series with the spring of the vehicle suspension does not change the performance of suspension.

Abstract: Traction Control System is an innovative automotive technology to prevent stability. Research impress to make mathematics control model. Research Methodology is used by using integrated research of the other researcher to analyze model Hybrid PID Fuzzy. The results of the research by setting value of Kp,Ki,Kd, pedal ravel, pedal throttle, spark advance = 0,20 for right and left wheel. Hybrid PID Fuzzy capable to repair error and delta error respond of disturbance. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Sistem kontrol traksi merupakan salah satu produk teknologi yang berkembang saat ini dibidang otomotif dalam hal menjaga stabilitas suatu kendaraan. Penelitian di bidang ini sudah banyak dilakukan oleh peneliti namun permodelan matematisnya masih sangat minim sekali untuk dilakukan. Metodologi penelitian yang dilakukan dengan cara mengintegrasikan penelitian-penelitian dibidang kontrol traksi yang sudah pernah dilakukan peneliti lain, kemudian menganalisis terhadap hasil permodelan yang dilakukan yaitu dengan simulasi Hybrid PID Fuzzy. Hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan setting terhadap parameter nilai Kp,Ki, Kd selanjutnya terhadap pedal rem, pedal gas, dan sudut pengapian untuk memperoleh batasan slip yang diizinkan lebih kecil atau sama dengan 0,20 untuk roda kiri dan roda kanan. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa Hybrid PID Fuzzy mampu memperbaiki respon gangguan yang terjadi berupa error dan delta error terhadap setting point. Kata kunci: sistem kontrol traksi, stabilitas kendaraan, hybrid PID Fuzzy.
Pengembangan Sistem Suplai Brown Gas Model 6 Ruang Tersusun pada Mesin Mobil 1300cc dengan Sistem Karburator

Abstract: Brown gas, known as H2O2 (Oxyhydrogen) obtained from electrolysis process can be mixed with gasoline and used in the internal combustion engines. Uncontrolled mixing of Brown gas in the internal combustion engines reduces the quality of burning (engine performance). In this paper, the development and application of the Brown gas generator with 6 chambers in series-equipped with controller is reported. The gas production rate was controlled by regulating the supply current using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The characteristic of the Brown gas supply system was tested for various concentrations of the catalyst (KOH) and temperatures. The Brown gas supply system was then applied to the carburetor type engine of 1300 cc and the engine performance was tested. The test results show that the maximum production of gas occurred at 30% of catalyst (KOH) and the production of gas is proportional to the room temperature. The engine performance test result show a 30% reduction of specific fuel consumption after installation of the Brown gas supply system to the engine. The emission test results show 0.67% to 0.12% reduction of CO and 16.9% to 15.5% reduction of CO2.
Engine Torque Control of SI Engine using Linear Quadratic Integral Tracking (LQIT) Optimal Control

Abstract: Due to the needs of improving fuel economy and reducing emissions, it is increasingly important to achieve control over robustness behavior and meet performance objectives over the life of the vehicle. This requires the development of high performance and optimal power train controllers. The performance objectives are often conflicting, or at least interrelated. One way to potentially meet these performance requirements is to introduce a method of controlling engine torque of Spark Ignition (SI) engine using Linear Quadratic Integral Tracking (LQIT) optimal control. The goal is to develop simple algorithms which can control engine torque well, thus providing fuel control more efficient and simultaneously improving engine performance due to the needs of the driver based on throttle opening information. In this case, spark ignition engine with automatic transmission simulation model is used to meet a good performance under this controller design.

Abstract: Artikel ini mengkaji pengaruh pengorganisasian dan pemanfaatan teknologi logistic dalam pengelolaan reverse logistics di perusahaan manufaktur penghasil barang/kemasan plastik terhadap kapabilitas inovasi dan komunikasi perusahaan dalam meningkatkan kinerja reverse logistics perusahaan. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modeling dengan menggunakan program SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan reverse logistics melalui alokasi anggaran dan pembentukan unit pengelola tersendiri disertai pendayagunaan teknologi, terutama pertukaran data secara elektronik, mampu meningkatkan kapabilitas inovasi, khususnya kemampuan kustomisasi dan fleksibilitas perusahaan dalam meningkatkan kinerja reverse logistics, dalam hal ketepatan waktu dan biaya operasional yang rendah. Di sisi lain, kapabilitas komunikasi belum terbukti dapat memengaruhi kinerja reverse logistics dikarenakan kapabilitas yang dimiliki belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal.

Abstract: Procurement function in manufacturing organisations has played significantly more critical roles nowadays than in the past. The contribution of procurement function is much determined by how well the procurement management system is designed. A critical aspect of managing procurement function in order to optimise its contribution to the organisation is procurement portfolio, i.e., categorisation of items and then differentiation of procurement focus for different categories. This paper will discuss procurement portfolio as a basis for procurement manager to optimise the contribution of his/her function in supporting the organisation's objectives. The role of electronic procurement in each category of the portfolio will also be discussed.

Abstract: The success of implementing the quality management system (QMS) ISO 9001:2008 for the family companies that applying in the initial stage will be the beginning of the strategic competitiveness. To develop, implement, control, and improve the QMS, it required roles, responsibilities, and sufficient authority for implementing actors. In this study, five hypotheses put forward by processing 30 data samples from the two companies of truck and bemo, and motorcycle parts’s company. The results of hypothesis testing showed the successful application of SMM in the family companies that already implementing QMS in the initial stage, significantly influenced by the roles, responsibilities, and authority from top management, and bridged with the role and tasks of the management representative and companion consultant.

Abstract: In this article is developed a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to solve a budget allocation problem to the decision-making units (DMU's) in an organisation. The allocation is depend on multi-input/output. To develop the model is used some of numerical examples. The results of calculation by DEA model are an optimum budget allocation in lower and upper bound and a fix value between them Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Dalam artikel ini dikembangkan sebuah model data envelopment analysis (DEA) untuk memecahkan masalah pengalokasian anggaran ke masing-masing unit pengambil keputusan (UPK) dalam sebuah organisasi, yang mempertimbangkan multi-input/output. Dalam mengembangkan model, dilakukan dengan beberapa contoh numeris. Hasil perhitungan dengan model DEA ini, didapatkan alokasi anggaran optimal yang berupa batas bawah dan atas serta nilai alokasi diantara kedua nilai tersebut. Kata kunci : data envelopment analysis, efisiensi, alokasi anggaran.

Abstract: We considered the nonparametric regression model : Zj = X(tj) + ej, j = 1,2, ,n, where X(tj) is the regression curve. The random error ej are independently distributed normal with a zero mean and a variance s2/bj, bj > 0. The estimation of X obtained by minimizing a Weighted Least Square. The solution of this optimation is a Weighted Spline Polynomial. Further, we give an application of weigted spline estimator in nonparametric regression. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Diberikan model regresi nonparametrik : Zj = X(tj) + ej, j = 1,2, ,n, dengan X (tj) kurva regresi dan ej sesatan random yang diasumsikan berdistribusi normal dengan mean nol dan variansi s2/bj, bj > 0. Estimasi kurva regresi X yang meminimumkan suatu Penalized Least Square Terbobot, merupakan estimator Polinomial Spline Natural Terbobot. Selanjutnya diberikan suatu aplikasi estimator spline terbobot dalam regresi nonparametrik. Kata kunci: Spline terbobot, Regresi nonparametrik, Penalized Least Square.
PENGELOLAAN WARISAN BUDAYA BERWAWASAN LINGKUNGAN: STUDI KASUS PENGELOLAAN LIVING MONUMENT DI BALI

Abstract: The living monument in Bali (candi, pura/temple, hermitage cave, etc) has various functions. Since it was built, its function was dominated for religious purpose, especially to pay homage for god/goddess, ancestors, and other holy spirits. The praying purposed to ask for safety and peace, fertility, prosperity, welfare of the followers and the villagers. Besides that function, monument and its environment also utilized to enhance the historical and socio-cultural awareness and science development, and it is also useful for social integration, economic and ecological function. Recently those functions are still maintained and developed on line with socio-cultural and environmental changes. Related to socio-religious function with all of its rituals, later on cultural heritage become a prominent of tourism interest ( destination) in Bali. Besides that, the sacred value of the monument indirectly brings impact to environmental conservation. The conservation of natural environment then contributes to fulfill the monument needs for ritual and building construction. But recently, there is a new trend arising to communities related to cultural values which is showed by behavioral change on heritages conservation. The carelessness of environmental control and conservation, has caused degradation on quality of heritage and its environment. The degradation of ecological and magic-religious values, indirectly will affect the degradation of peace, prosperity and welfare of local communities , and then they are followed by lack of awareness and concern on cultural and natural heritages conservation. In order to cope with the problem, an holistic-integrated approach needs to be applied to manage living monument and its environment in Bali by appreciation on stability and proportional functions of socio-cultural, economic, and ecological aspect in frame of sustainable development.
