Medical Image Fusion Based on Wavelet Multi-Scale Decomposition  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper describes a method to decompose multi-scale information from different source medical image using wavelet transformation. The data fusion between CT image and MRI image is implemented based on the coefficients fusion rule which included choice of regional variance and weighted average wavelet information. The result indicates that this method is better than WMF, LEF and RVF on fusion results, details and target distortion.
Gaseous and Electrochemical Hydrogen Storage Properties of Nanocrystalline Mg2Ni-Type Alloys Prepared by Melt Spinning  [PDF]

Abstract: A partial substitution of Ni by Cu has been carried out in order to improve the hydrogen storage characteristics of the Mg2Ni-type alloys. The nanocrystalline Mg20Ni10-xCux (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) alloys are synthesized by the melt-spinning technique. The structures of the as-cast and spun alloys have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The electrochemical performances were evaluated by an automatic galvanostatic system. The hydrogen absorption and desorption kinetics of the alloys were determined by using an automatically controlled Sieverts apparatus. The results indicate that the substitution of Cu for Ni does not alter the major phase Mg2Ni. The Cu substitution significantly ameliorates the electrochemical hydrogen storage performances of alloys, involving both the discharge capacity and the cycle stability. The hydrogen absorption capacity of alloys has been observed to be first increase and then decrease with an increase in the Cu contents. However, the hydrogen desorption capacity of the alloys exhibit a monotonous growth with an increase in the Cu contents.

Abstract: As knowledge emerges as the primary strategic resource in the 21st century, many firms are beginning to introduce and implement knowledge management (KM). Organizations can benefit from its application for enhancing decision support, efficiency and innovation, thus helping them to realize their strategic mission. However, the previous works on KM mainly focused on the technological solution aspects and cause many examples of failure around the world. In this paper, harmonious management (HM) pattern of knowledge, which is the application of theory of HM to KM, is employed to analyze the cognition and reduction of uncertainty during the KM. It is concluded that, in order to promote KM to be effectively carried out, organization must attach same importance to person and material factor. Through constructing pattern of HM, it will eliminate and reduce the uncertainty and provide the feasible strategic framework for the KM beyond the previous dilemma of KM. Abstract: Israel controlled the main productive factors in the West Bank of Jordan River and Gaza Strip. The Palestinian self-government had to dependence on the Israeli economy. At the same time Israel implemented sanctions on the Palestinian self-government which increased the economic pressures at the same time. Israeli controlling made the Palestinian domestic market become narrower. These economic factors changed Gaza into a hotbed of anti-Israeli struggle.

Abstract: Neuropeptide signaling plays roles in coordinating cellular activities and maintaining robust oscillations within the mammalian suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). Prokineticin2 (PK2) is a signaling molecule from the SCN and involves in the generation of circadian locomotor activity. Prokineticin receptor 2 (PKR2), a receptor for PK2, has been shown to be expressed in the SCN. However, very little is known about the cellular action of PK2 within the SCN. In the present study, we investigated the effect of PK2 on spontaneous firing and miniature inhibitory postsynaptic currents (mIPSCs) using whole cell patch-clamp recording in the SCN slices. PK2 dose-dependently increased spontaneous firing rates in most neurons from the dorsal SCN. PK2 acted postsynaptically to reduce γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-ergic function within the SCN, and PK2 reduced the amplitude but not frequency of mIPSCs. Furthermore, PK2 also suppressed exogenous GABA-induced currents. And the inhibitory effect of PK2 required PKC activation in the postsynaptic cells. Our data suggest that PK2 could alter cellular activities within the SCN and may influence behavioral and physiological rhythms.
Sensitivity of Podosphaera xanthii to thiophanate-methyl and characteristics of resistant mutants

Abstract: 为明确山西省黄瓜白粉病菌对甲基硫菌灵的抗药性现状, 采用叶盘漂浮法测定了不同地区119株菌株对甲基硫菌灵的敏感性, 用紫外线照射和药剂驯化方式诱导获得了甲基硫菌灵抗性突变体, 并比较了亲本菌株与突变体的生物学性状。结果表明, 119株菌株的EC50在0.48~14.37 μg/mL之间, 平均EC50为2.89±2.69 μg/mL。不同地区菌株敏感性差异较大, 采自未使用过任何杀菌剂的忻州市菌株敏感性最高, 平均EC50为1.03±0.27 μg/mL, 可作为黄瓜白粉病菌对甲基硫菌灵的敏感基线;运城市菌株敏感性最低, 平均EC50为7.02±3.12 μg/mL, 其中菌株YC01的EC50是敏感基线的13.98倍。3株室内诱导突变体均为高抗, 突变体XZ11-2的抗性倍数达到94.96倍, 抗性突变频率为1.5×10-3。药剂处理条件下, 突变体的侵染频率、病情指数、产孢量和孢子萌发率均显著低于亲本敏感菌株;抗:感菌株分生孢子以80:20混合培养7代后, 抗性菌株频率变化不明显;以20:80混合培养7代后, 抗性频率降低甚至消失。表明黄瓜白粉病菌对甲基硫菌灵的抗性在选择压力低的情况下有可能丧失。
To assess the resistance risk of Podosphaera xanthii to thiophanate-methyl, the sensitivity of 119 isolates collected from Shanxi Province was detected by using leaf disk floating method; thiophanate-methyl resistant mutants were obtained by UV irradiation and chemical screening in the laboratory, and the fitness parameters and competition ability of resistant and sensitive isolates were measured. The results showed that the EC50 values of isolates from different regions varied from 0.48 to 14.37 μg/mL with a mean of 2.89±2.69 μg/mL. The mean EC50 value of 60 isolates collected from Xinzhou, where fungicide had not been used before, was 1.03±0.27 μg/mL, which could be regarded as the baseline sensitivity of P. xanthii to thiophanate-methyl. The sensitivity of isolates from Yuncheng was the lowest, with a mean EC50 value of 7.02±3.12 μg/mL, but the resistance ratio of YC01 was 13.98 times the baseline sensitivity. The resistance level of three thiophanate-methyl resistant mutants was high, and the resistance ratio of XZ11-2 was 94.96 times. The fitness of resistant mutants was significantly lower than sensitive isolates. The ratio of resistant and sensitive conidia had not significantly changed when they were cultured at the proportion of 80:20 for seven generations; however, the frequency of resistant isolates decreased when mixed with 20:80. The results indicated that the resistance of Podosphaera xanthii to thiophanate-methyl could gradually decline when the selection pressure became lower.
