Comparative Study on the Present Situation in the Development of the Chinese Long River Delta Women Football Team  [PDF]

Chinese Long River Delta has three Women Football Teams. The present situation of Chinese Long River Delta Women Football Team attending the 2005 spring training was investigated and studied through questionnaires,observations and visiting. The present management system,fund sources, basic conditions of the coaches and players in the Chinese Long River Delta Women Football Teams are clear. It was found that at present the management system of Shanghai and Jiangsu Women football teams are come up to the professional management system. But Zhejiang Women football hasn’t been very well popularized. An orderly system of succession hasn’t been formed. The unstable coach population requires to be trained and to raise their level. And their manage policy and measures is insufficient compare with Shanghai and Jiangsu women football team.

Progesterone Prevents Traumatic Brain Injury-Induced Intestinal Nuclear Factor kappa B Activation and Proinflammatory Cytokines Expression in Male Rats

Abstract: We have previously shown that traumatic brain injury (TBI) can induce an upregulation of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and proinflammatory cytokines in the gut, which play an important role in the pathogenesis of acute gut mucosal injury mediated by inflammation. In this work, we investigated whether progesterone administration modulated intestinal NF-κB activity and proinflammatory cytokines expression after TBI in male rats. As a result, we found that administration of progesterone following TBI could decrease NF-κB binding activity, NF-κB p65 protein expression, and concentrations of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the gut. TBI-induced damages of gut structure were ameliorated after progesterone injections. The results of the present study suggest that the therapeutic benefit of post-TBI progesterone injections might be due to its inhibitory effects on intestinal NF-κB activation and proinflammatory cytokines expression.
Molecular Recognition of Arginine by Supramolecular Complexation with Calixarene Crown Ether Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance

Abstract: Arginine plays an important role in cell division and the functioning of the immune system. We describe a novel method by which arginine can be identified using an artificial monolayer based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR). The affinity of arginine binding its recognition molecular was compared to that of lysine. In fabrication of an arginine sensing interface, a calix[4]crown ether monolayer was anchored onto a gold surface and then characterized by Fourier Transform infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The interaction between arginine and its host compound was investigated by SPR. The calix[4]crown ether was found to assemble as a monolayer on the gold surface. Recognition of calix[4]crown monolayer was assessed by the selective binding of arginine. Modification of the SPR chip with the calix[4]crown monolayer provides a reliable and simple experimental platform for investigation of arginine under aqueous conditions.
Combinatorial administration of insulin and vitamin C alleviates the cerebral vasospasm after experimental subarachnoid hemorrhage in rabbit

Abstract: Five days after SAH, there is obvious basilar artery spasm in SAH group, whose average vascular cross-sectional area (233,099 ± 16,750 μm2) is significantly smaller than that in control group (462,128 ± 74,756 μm2), which is also significantly different from those in SAH + insulin group (221,114 ± 43,457 μm2) and SAH + vitamin C group (237,820 ± 21,703 μm2). SAH + insulin + vitamin C group shows no evident vasospasm and maintains a vascular cross-sectional area of 425,530 ± 45,503 μm2, which is significantly different from that in SAH group. Insulin receptor α (InRα) expression is significantly downregulated in the vascular endothelial cells of SAH, SAH + insulin, and SAH + vitamin C groups (P < 0.01) but remains unchanged in vascular endothelial cells of SAH + insulin + vitamin C group (P > 0.05). Five days after SAH, serum and cerebrospinal fluid NO levels in SAH, SAH + insulin, and SAH + vitamin C groups decrease significantly (P < 0.01) compared to that in control group, whereas the reduction is not evident in SAH + insulin + vitamin C group (P > 0.05).Combinatorial treatment with insulin and vitamin C has effectively relieved the CVS after SAH in rabbit, possibly through increasing the InRα expression and NO level, whereas treatment with insulin or vitamin C alone fails to do so.CVS is a common serious complication after the spontaneous SAH. It induces and aggravates cerebral ischemic injury and becomes one of the major causes of disability and mortality after aneurysm rupture. Although some medications like non-selective calcium blockers can be administered, there is still lack of especially effective clinical treatment to alleviate and improve CVS [1]. Abstract: Angiogenesis, increased glomerular permeability, and albuminuria are thought to contribute to the progression of diabetic nephropathy (DN). Apelin receptor (APLNR) and the endogenous ligand of APLNR, apelin, induce the sprouting of endothelial cells in an autocrine or paracrine manner, which may be one of the mechanisms of DN. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of apelin in the pathogenesis of DN. Therefore, we observed apelin/APLNR expression in kidneys from patients with type 2 diabetes as well as the correlation between albuminuria and serum apelin in patients with type 2 diabetes. We also measured the proliferating, migrating, and chemotactic effects of apelin on glomerular endothelial cells. To measure the permeability of apelin in glomerular endothelial cells, we used transwells to detect FITC-BSA penetration through monolayered glomerular endothelial cells. The results showed that serum apelin was significantly higher in the patients with type 2 diabetes compared to healthy people (p<0.05, Fig. 1B) and that urinary albumin was positively correlated with serum apelin (R = 0.78, p<0.05). Apelin enhanced the migration, proliferation, and chemotaxis of glomerular endothelial cells in a dose-dependent manner (p<0.05). Apelin also promoted the permeability of glomerular endothelial cells (p<0.05) and upregulated the expression of VEGFR2 and Tie2 in glomerular endothelial cells (p<0.05). These results indicated that upregulated apelin in type 2 diabetes, which may be attributed to increased fat mass, promotes angiogenesis in glomeruli to form abnormal vessels and that enhanced apelin increases permeability via upregulating the expression of VEGFR2 and Tie2 in glomerular endothelial cells.
Polymorphisms of the LTA Gene May Contribute to the Risk of Myocardial Infarction: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract: Objective The lymphotoxin-α (LTA), as one of the mediators of inflammation, may play an important role in the pathogenesis of myocardial infarction (MI). Genetic association studies (GAS) that have investigated the association between three common polymorphisms (A252G, G10A and C804A) of the LTA gene and susceptibility to MI have produced contradictory and inconclusive results. The aim of this meta-analysis is to provide a relatively comprehensive account of the association of these polymorphisms with susceptibility to MI. Methods A literature search for eligible GAS published before October 15, 2013 was conducted in the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) databases. We performed a meta-analysis of fifteen case-control studies with a total of 22,549 MI patients and 16,105 healthy controls. Results For LTA A252G, a borderline significant overall association was found, indicating that GG genotype may confer an increased susceptibility to MI compared to AA and AG genotypes. Based on an ethnicity stratification analysis, a significant association was observed in Asians, but not in Caucasians. For LTA G10A, no significant overall association was found. However, subgroup analysis based on ethnicity suggested that the 10A allele may confer a significant increased susceptibility to MI only in Asian populations. For LTA C804A, the combined results revealed a significantly increased susceptibility to MI for carriers of the 804A allele in both overall analysis and stratified analyses. Conclusion This meta-analysis shows that LTA C804A may be associated with an increased susceptibility to MI, whereas LTA A252G and G10A may confer a significant increased susceptibility to MI only in Asians. Thus, these polymorphisms of the LTA gene can probably be used with other genetic markers together to identify individuals at high susceptibility to MI especially in Asians.
Molecular Characterization of Transgene Integration by Next-Generation Sequencing in Transgenic Cattle

Abstract: As the number of transgenic livestock increases, reliable detection and molecular characterization of transgene integration sites and copy number are crucial not only for interpreting the relationship between the integration site and the specific phenotype but also for commercial and economic demands. However, the ability of conventional PCR techniques to detect incomplete and multiple integration events is limited, making it technically challenging to characterize transgenes. Next-generation sequencing has enabled cost-effective, routine and widespread high-throughput genomic analysis. Here, we demonstrate the use of next-generation sequencing to extensively characterize cattle harboring a 150-kb human lactoferrin transgene that was initially analyzed by chromosome walking without success. Using this approach, the sites upstream and downstream of the target gene integration site in the host genome were identified at the single nucleotide level. The sequencing result was verified by event-specific PCR for the integration sites and FISH for the chromosomal location. Sequencing depth analysis revealed that multiple copies of the incomplete target gene and the vector backbone were present in the host genome. Upon integration, complex recombination was also observed between the target gene and the vector backbone. These findings indicate that next-generation sequencing is a reliable and accurate approach for the molecular characterization of the transgene sequence, integration sites and copy number in transgenic species.
Self-Recovery E-evidence Image Watermarking Algorithm Based on Binary features of Important Blocks

Abstract: 现有高性能自恢复水印算法多是针对自然图像设计,水印容量较大且不利于文字等信息的恢复.为解决这一问题,在兼顾水印嵌入容量和篡改凭证图像恢复质量的基础上,提出了一种适用于电子凭证图像真实性认证的自恢复水印算法.该算法首先根据电子凭证图像特性,将图像块划分为重要块、非重要块和空白块3类,并对其进行分类编码;其次,为保证类型码的正确性,将所有图像块类型码置乱,采用RS编码后生成部分恢复水印信息,将其平均嵌入在所有图像块中;再次,对重要块采用二值化方法生成恢复水印信息,并依次嵌入在非重要块或空白块的最低有效位;最后,通过7张具体电子凭证图像,对比给出了本文算法与现有同类变容量文献算法的性能.研究结果表明,本文算法采用分类编码并仅对重要块生成恢复水印信息,在不降低算法篡改检测和篡改恢复性能的条件下,使水印嵌入容量从对比文献的1.73和2.99降低至0.64,含水印凭证图像的峰值信噪比分别高出对比文献8 dB和23 dB.
: Existing self-recovery watermarking algorithms are generally designed for natural images, which have a large watermark embedding capacity and cannot clearly recover the text information. To deal with this, a self-recovery watermarking algorithm for E-evidence image authentication was proposed, which can reach a balance between watermark embedding capacity and recovery quality. Firstly, according to the characteristics of an E-evidence image, all image blocks in the test E-evidence image were categorized into three typesimportant block, unimportant one and blank one. Then, to ensure the correctness of the type code, the type code is permutated and encoded by RS coding to generate a partial-recovery watermark that is randomly embedded in all blocks. At the same time, another recovery watermark is generated by coding the binary features of important blocks and randomly embedded in the least significant bit of unimportant or blank blocks based on secret key. At last, the performances of the proposed scheme and the alterable-capacity watermarking algorithms were compared by using seven E-evidence images. Results show that the watermark embedding capacity of the proposed scheme is reduced to 0.64 bit per pixel, compared with two literature results of 1.73 and 2.99, and the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) of the watermarked E-evidence image by the proposed scheme is about 8 dB and 23 dB higher than those obtained from literature, while the performance of tamper detection and tamper recovery is not worsened.
