O QUE HOUVE COM O SUJEITO HISTóRICO NA ARQUEOLOGIA DE MICHEL FOUCALT?

Abstract: the occurrence of somaclonal variation for plants in developed from tissue culture is well documented in the literature. the present study evaluated the influence of numbers subculture in the induction of variants in pacovan banana tree (musa spp., aab group). apex stems were introduced and multiplied in vitro using culture media ms, with addition of 2.5 mg.l-1 of bap. in subsequent subcultures, ms with 4.0 mg.l-1 of bap was used to induce side buds. results showed that plants were regenerated with different numbers of subculture (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9). these data were compared with seedlings from developed rhizomes. all the plants, were observed at field conditions in vale do a?u, rio grande do norte state. the percentage of somaclonal variants, some was estimated using morphological characteristics, such as plant size, color and shape of leaves and bunch shape. only plants in which buds showed the same type of variation were considered as variables. somaclonal variation occurred from the fifth subculture, and on the 9th subculture a 5.8% variation was observed. the increase of percentage of somaclonal variation, due to a higher number of subcultures, indicates the necessity of protocols for micropropagation specific for each variety to be commercialized.

Abstract: introduction: motivation is deemed a critical component for interventions intended to change behaviors related to the use of alcohol and other drugs. the classification of patients in 'stages of change' can be a useful tool for the organization and improvement of treating programs. methods: this study assessed the stages of change using the scales urica and socrates in patients who attended two different treating programs for alcohol dependence in a specialized medical service. we performed an analysis of the association between stages of change and demographic aspects. after three months of treatment, patients were reassessed to evaluate their outcome. results: in the assessments using urica, there was an association between stages of change and monthly income and age. there was no evidence that patients move across the stages of change. using the scale socrates, we found an association between stages of change and monthly income. in the reassessment, there was a significant movement across the stages of change. conclusion: patients who attend two different treating programs may have different motivation profiles. there was no movement congruent with the stage of change model, suggesting that patients may need more than 3 months to obtain significant changes in their motivation.

Abstract: acute pancreatitis is a severe disease with considerable morbidity and mortality. many risk factors are causally related to acute pancreatitis. in this report, a case of acute pancreatitis with possible causal relationship with the use of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, sertraline, will be discussed. after one month of treatment with sertraline, a female patient, 55 years-old, developed a severe abdominal pain and showed a serum amylase elevation. she was admitted to the hospital and the use of sertraline was interrupted. after that, the symptoms remitted and the serum amylase level returned to normal. because of the potential severity of this disease and the widespread use of sertraline, this association should be reminded when investigating possible causes for acute pancreatitis.

Embri es liofilizados e flocos de Artemia no cultivo pós-larval de Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) = Use of freeze-dried embryos and Artemia flakes in the post-larval culture of Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931)

The objective of the study was to evaluate the growth and survival of Litopenaeus vannamei post-larvae fed with freeze-driedembryos and Artemia flakes as feeding supplements to a microparticulate diet (DMP). In treatments T1, T2 and T3, the shrimp were fed with DMP and after 2 hours, received supplements of FLO (T1); EMB (T2); and the same DMP previously offered (T3). In T4,post-larvae were fed with DMP but without additional supplementation. There was no significant difference (p > 0.05) in shrimp survival after the experimental period of 21 days. On the other hand, the absolute weight gain (mg of dry weight) of post-larvae whose dietwas supplemented with EMB (T2) was significantly higher (p < 0.05) than growth found in the other experimental groups (T1, T3 and T4). Shrimp fed with DMP and EMB obtained a significantly higher absolute weight gain (6.7 mg) than those found in treatments that used DMP and FLO (5.4 mg) or DMP alone (5.8 mg in T3 and 5.7 mg in T4). Theseresults underline the nutritional value of freeze-dried Artemia embryos and recommend their inclusion in the post-larval diet of Litopenaeus vannamei.
