Pinto, Heleodoro Corrêa;Jung, Lutero Koch;Wendland, Eliana;Heineck, Simone da Cunha;
Revista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-72032012000300005
Abstract: purpose: to report the use of colpotomy for the treatment of ectopic pregnancies. methods: this was a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted on all women hospitalized with a clinical-laboratory suspicion of ectopic pregnancy who did not fulfill the criteria for drug treatment with methothrexate, during the period from february 2007 to august 2008. demographic variables, gynecologic history and characteristics associated with treatment were obtained by reviewing the medical records. results: eighteen women were included in the study. mean age was 27±5.2 years. all patients presented ruptured ectopic pregnancy and all were submitted to partial salpingectomy. surgical time ranged from 30 to 120 minutes (mean: 64.5 minutes) calculated from the moment when the patient entered the operating room to the moment when she left it. no patient presented postoperative infection. mean time of hospitalization was 40±14.3 hours. the medications used during the postoperative period were similar in all cases, being based on nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs, dipyrone, paracetamol and meperidine, as needed. the diet was reintroduced 8 hours after the end of surgery. conclusions: the use of colpotomy in the treatment of ectopic pregnancy showed good results, with the absence of important complications and a short hospitalization time. the basic surgical instruments needed for this procedure are relatively common to all hospitals, and the surgical technique is reproducible.
Trampas do traje
Corrêa, Mariza;
Cadernos Pagu , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332004000100008
Abstract: that a woman was considered to be the best poet in latin america in the 17th century is in itself worth of consideration - since most women there, and around the world, were then illiterate. that she was not mannish, as many have hinted, but instead, that her opponents were obliged to feminize themselves to face her seems interesting. this article tries to call attention to sor juana?s life and works.
A babá de Freud e outras babás
Corrêa, Mariza;
Cadernos Pagu , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332007000200004
Abstract: the freud-fliess letters attracted attention to freud?s nanny and also to the role played by nannies in the ideal family of psychoanalytic theory. included in the models that explained the bourgeois family since the nineteenth century, but excluded by analytic theory, the nanny, ever present in brazilian upper-class families, still poses a question to the ?father-mother-infant? triangle.
'Nossos mulatos s?o mais exuberantes'
Corrêa, Mariza;
História, Ciências, Saúde-Manguinhos , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-59702008000400012
Abstract: raimundo nina rodrigues (1862-1906) will still engender considerable debate in the academic world. the centennial of his death, for which this translation has been made, has merited a special editions of the prestigious gazeta medica da bahia and other newspapers in the state of bahia. nevertheless, his books have not become any more accessible or well known. almost all of them have been out of print, in some cases for over one hundred years. the text published here, "miscegenation, degeneracy and crime", is especially interesting, both for the ethnography, which deserves to be revisited, and because of the author's use of genealogies and case studies, unprecedented in brazil at that time.

Philander opossum (Marsupialia), a new host record for Sparganum of Lueheella Baer, 1924 (= Spirometra Mueller, 1937)
Gomes, Delir Corrêa;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1984, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761984000300011
Abstract: two samples of sparganum, the larval form of lueheella baer, 1924 (= spirometra mueller, 1937) were recovered from philander opossum (l. 1758) captured in salobra, mato grosso state, brazil, by dr. lauro travassos in may, 1942. this is the first report of the presence of this larval form in p. opossum. dealing with helminths recovered from brazilian marsupialia, deposited in oswaldo cruz institute helminthological collection, we examined in two samples of the preserved material collected in salobra. mato grosso state, nine larval forms (sparganum) of lueheella sp. one of the samples, with six specimens, tissue. it is the first report of philander opossum harbouring this larval stage. the studied preserved wet material was stained and whole mounts were deposited in the oswaldo cruz institute helminthological collection ns. 31.470 and 31.471. measurements are in mm.
Stakeholder management in the local government decision-making area: evidences from a triangulation study with the English local government
Gomes, Ricardo Corrêa;
BAR. Brazilian Administration Review , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1807-76922006000100005
Abstract: the stakeholder theory has been in the management agenda for about thirty years and reservations about its acceptance as a comprehensive theory still remains. it was introduced as a managerial issue by the labour party in 1997 aiming to make public management more inclusive. this article aims to contribute to the stakeholder theory adding descriptive issues to its theoretical basis. the findings are derived from an inductive investigation carried out with english local authorities, which will most likely be reproduced in other contexts. data collection and analysis is based on a data triangulation method that involves case-studies, interviews of validation and analysis of documents. the investigation proposes a model for representing the nature of the relationships between stakeholders and the decision-making process of such organizations. the decision-making of local government organizations is in fact a stakeholder-based process in which stakeholders are empowered to exert influences due to power over and interest in the organization's operations and outcomes.
Who are the relevant stakeholders to the local government context? Empirical evidences on environmental influences in the decision-making process of English Local Authorities
Gomes, Ricardo Corrêa;
BAR. Brazilian Administration Review , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1807-76922004000100004
Abstract: this article presents empirical evidence of stakeholding in the local government context. it is the result of a survey carried out with english local authorities in 2001. it outlines the arena in which local government make decisions by pinpointing the relevant stakeholders in the process as well as the amount of power they are perceived to represent by chief executives. the investigation has its theoretical basis in resource dependence and institutional theories, which are commonly used for explaining an organization's behaviour and performance as influenced by its environment. as an empirical contribution, the article proposes a stakeholder map for any kind of local government organizations that will help in identifying strategies for managing stakeholders.

Abstract: um polielndido, chromyella saga, gen. nov., spec. nov. (figs.
Corrêa, Hermes Geraldo;
Bragantia , 1985, DOI: 10.1590/S0006-87051985000100013
Abstract: this experiment was conducted to test the use of oxiethylene docosanol (o.e.d.) to reduce the loss of water during the spray of contact herbicide (bentazone). the droplets were produced under controlled conditions of temperature, relative humidity and absence of wind. the loss of volume was calculated by measuring the reduction of droplet diameter after a fall of 4.2m. when the herbicide solution wlthout o.e.d. was sprayed there was a loss of 63% of the inicial volume for the small droplets (141 micra) and 30% for the large droplets (216 micra). when o.e.d. was added to the herbicide the volume loss was reduced to 15% and 9%, respectively, for the smaller (134 micra) and larger droplets (216 micra).
