Diversity Oriented Syntheses of Conventional Heterocycles by Smart Multi Component Reactions (MCRs) of the Last Decade
Heiner Eckert
Molecules , 2012, DOI: 10.3390/molecules17011074
Abstract: A collection of smart multicomponent reactions (MCRs) with continuative post condensation cyclizations (PCCs) is presented to construct conventional three- to seven-membered heterocyclic compounds in diversity oriented syntheses (DOS). These will provide a high degree of applying economical and ecological advantages as well as of practicability. Water, ionic liquids, and solvent-less syntheses as well as use of various forms of energy as microwave and ultrasonic irradiation are examined and discussed.

URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs060210 This textbook, published by STRüBING, offers an easily readable introduction to the epistemological background of grounded theory according to STRAUSS (subsequently STRAUSS & CORBIN) as shaped by the philosophy of American pragmatism. Most important, according to STRüBING, are the pragmatist conceptions of reality and theory and the interaction between abduction, induction and deduction in incremental iterative theory development. Experiencias en Alemania Oriental From state socialism to the market economy: experiences in east Germany
Heseler Heiner
This was a lecture given at Universidad Nacional in April 1993, describing the process of transformation in the former East Germany. It analyzes the process of economic reconstruction, using the shipbuilding industry as an example. There is a detailed analysis of the effects of reunification on the restructuring of the former East German shipyards and the changes in the economy. The picture is still unclear, and there may yet be setbacks. Nevertheless, one expectation has certainly turned out to be an illusion, namely that the unleashing of market torces would automatically foster economic recovery. The changes were controlled in political, economic and social terms, not only because it was the State which set the economic conditions for them, but also because it determined the direction of the process through the injection ot considerable financial resources.
Exact diagonalisation of 1-d interacting spinless Fermions
Heiner Kohler
Physics , 2007, DOI: 10.1063/1.3563580
Abstract: We acquire a method of constructing an infinite set of exact eigenfunctions of 1--d interacting spinless Fermionic systems. Creation and annihilation operators for the interacting system are found and thereby the many--body Hamiltonian is diagonalised. The formalism is applied to several examples. One example is the theory of Jack polynomials. For the Calogero-Moser-Sutherland Hamiltonian a direct proof is given that the asymptotic Bethe Ansatz is correct.
States of Low Energy on Robertson-Walker Spacetimes
Heiner Olbermann
Physics , 2007, DOI: 10.1088/0264-9381/24/20/007
Abstract: We construct a new class of physical states of the free Klein-Gordon field in Robertson-Walker spacetimes. This is done by minimizing the expectation value of smeared stress-energy. We get an explicit expression for the state depending on the smearing function. We call it a state of low energy. States of low energy are an improvement of the concept of adiabatic vacua on Robertson-Walker spacetimes. The latter are approximations of the former. It is shown that states of low energy are Hadamard states.
Energy scaling law for a single disclination in a thin elastic sheet
Heiner Olbermann
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: We consider a single disclination in a thin elastic sheet of thickness $h$. We prove ansatz-free lower bounds for the free elastic energy in three different settings: First, for a geometrically fully non-linear plate model, second, for three-dimensional nonlinear elasticity, and third, for the F\"oppl-von K\'arm\'an plate theory. The lower bounds in the first and third result are optimal in the sense that we find upper bounds that are identical to the respective lower bounds in the leading order of $h$.
The one-dimensional model for d-cones revisited
Heiner Olbermann
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: A d-cone is the shape one obtains when pushing an elastic sheet at its center into a hollow cylinder. In a simple model, one can treat the elastic sheet in the deformed configuration as a developable surface with a singularity at the tip of the cone. In this approximation, the renormalized elastic energy is given by the bending energy density integrated over some annulus in the reference configuration. The thus defined variational problem depends on the indentation of the sheet into the cylinder. This model has been investigated before in the physics literature; the main motivation for the present paper is to give a rigorous version of some of the results achieved there via formal arguments. We derive the Gamma-limit of the energy functional as the indentation is sent to 0. Further, we analyze the minimizers of the limiting functional, and list a number of necessary conditions that they have to fulfill.
Energy scaling law for the regular cone
Heiner Olbermann
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: We consider a thin elastic sheet in the shape of a disk whose reference metric is that of a singular cone. I.e., the reference metric is flat away from the center and has a defect there. We define a geometrically fully nonlinear free elastic energy, and investigate the scaling behavior of this energy as the thickness $h$ tends to 0. We work with two simplifying assumptions: Firstly, we think of the deformed sheet as an immersed 2-dimensional Riemannian manifold in Euclidean 3-space and assume that the exponential map at the origin (the center of the sheet) supplies a coordinate chart for the whole manifold. Secondly, the energy functional penalizes the difference between the induced metric and the reference metric in $L^\infty$ (instead of, as is usual, in $L^2$). Under these assumptions, we show that the elastic energy per unit thickness of the regular cone in the leading order of $h$ is given by $C^*h^2|\log h|$, where the value of $C^*$ is given explicitly.

Integrability of the Brouwer degree for irregular arguments
Heiner Olbermann
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: We prove that the Brouwer degree $\mathrm{deg}(u,U,\cdot)$ for a function $u\in C^{0,\alpha}( U;\mathbb{R}^n)$ is in $L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)$ if $1\leq p<\frac{n\alpha}d$, where $U\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ is open and bounded and $d$ is the box dimension of $\partial U$. This is supplemented by a theorem showing that $u_j\to u$ in $C^{0,\alpha}(U;\mathbb{R}^n)$ implies $\mathrm{deg}(u_j,U,\cdot)\to \mathrm{deg}(u,U,\cdot)$ in $L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)$ for the parameter regime $1\leq p<\frac{n\alpha}d$, while there exist convergent sequences $u_j\to u$ in $C^{0,\alpha}(U;\mathbb{R}^n)$ such that $\|\mathrm{deg}(u_j,U,\cdot)\|_{L^p}\to \infty$ for the opposite regime $p>\frac{n\alpha}d$.
