Analysis of the Causes of Chronic Pain after Inguinal Hernia Repair without Tension and Its Prevention and Treatment  [PDF]
Hao Wu, Weimin Li
International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2019.103012
Abstract: Purpose: Analyzing the causes of pain after tension-free repair in the inguinal hernia, and propose corresponding treatment strategies. Results: The patients in this group were followed up for 3 - 12 months. A total of 5 patients still had pain relief within 3 months after surgery. Further treatment was needed, and the incidence rate was 5%. Conclusion: Skilled surgical procedures are performed in patients with local anesthesia, and some of the absorbable repair materials can be used. The improved patch fixation and extra peritoneal repair can reduce the pain after inguinal hernia repair without tension.
Safety Control Technology of Deepwater Perforated Gas Well Testing  [PDF]
Hao Liang, Muwang Wu
Engineering (ENG) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/eng.2019.113011
Abstract: Due to the high difficulties, high investment, and high risks in deepwater oil and gas well testing, major safety problems can occur easily. A key to prevent accidents is to conduct safety assessment and control on deepwater testing and to improve the testing technology. The deepwater of the South China Sea has some special environmental features: long distance from offshore, frequent typhoons in summer and constant monsoons in winter, and the presence of sandy slopes, sandy ridges and internal waves, coupled with the complex properties of oil and gas reserves which bring more challenges to deepwater well testing. In combination with deepwater well testing practice in the South China Sea, this paper analyzes the main potential risks in deepwater well testing and concludes that there are risks of failures of testing string, tools, and ground processes. Other risks are gas hydrate blockage, reservoir stratum sanding, and typhoon impacts. Specific precautions are also proposed in response to these risks in the paper.
Tight Contact Small Seifert Spaces with $e_0\neq0,-1,-2$

Mathematics , 2004,
Abstract: We classify up to isotopy the tight contact structures on small Seifert spaces with $e_0\neq0,-1,-2$. (The first version contains on the $e_0<-2$ case.)
A New Way to Compute the Thurston-Bennequin Number
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2003,
Abstract: We establish a relation between several easy-to-calculate numerical invariants of generic knots in $\mathbb{H}^2 \times S^1$, and use it to give a new method of computing the Thurston-Bennequin number of Legendrian knots in the tight contact $\mathbb{R}^3$.
On Legendrian Surgeries
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2005,
Abstract: We use the Ozsv\'ath-Szab\'o contact invariants to distinguish between tight contact structures obtained by Legendrian surgeries on stabilized Legendrian links in tight contact 3-manifolds. We also discuss the implication of our result on the tight contact structures on the Brieskon homology spheres $-\Sigma(2,3,6n-1)$.
Legendrian links and the spanning tree model for Khovanov homology
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2006, DOI: 10.2140/agt.2006.6.1745
Abstract: We use the spanning tree model for Khovanov homology to study Legendrian links. This leads to an alternative proof for Ng's Khovanov bound for the Thurston-Bennequin number and to both a necessary and a sufficient condition for this bound to be sharp.
Convergence to Equilibrium for the Cahn-Hilliard Equation with Wentzell Boundary Condition
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2007,
Abstract: In this paper we consider the Cahn-Hilliard equation endowed with Wentzell boundary condition which is a model of phase separation in a binary mixture contained in a bounded domain with permeable wall. Under the assumption that the nonlinearity is analytic with respect to unknown dependent function, we prove the convergence of a global solution to an equilibrium as time goes to infinity by means of a suitable \L ojasiewicz-Simon type inequality with boundary term. Estimates of convergence rate are also provided.
Long-time Behavior for a Nonlinear Plate Equation with Thermal Memory
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2008, DOI: 10.1016/j.jmaa.2008.08.001
Abstract: We consider a nonlinear plate equation with thermal memory effects due to non-Fourier heat flux laws. First we prove the existence and uniqueness of global solutions as well as the existence of a global attractor. Then we use a suitable Lojasiewicz--Simon type inequality to show the convergence of global solutions to single steady states as time goes to infinity under the assumption that the nonlinear term $f$ is real analytic. Moreover, we provide an estimate on the convergence rate.
A colored sl(N)-homology for links in S^3
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2009,
Abstract: Fix an integer N>1. To each diagram of a link colored by 1,...,N, we associate a chain complex of graded matrix factorizations. We prove that the homotopy type of this chain complex is invariant under Reidemeister moves. When every component of the link is colored by 1, this chain complex is isomorphic to the chain complex defined by Khovanov and Rozansky in arXiv:math/0401268. The homology of this chain complex decategorifies to the Reshetikhin-Turaev sl(N) polynomial of links colored by exterior powers of the defining representation.
Generic deformations of the colored sl(N)-homology for links
Hao Wu
Mathematics , 2010, DOI: 10.2140/agt.2011.11.2037
Abstract: We generalize the works of Lee [arXiv:math/0210213v3] and Gornik [arXiv:math/0402266v2] to construct a basis for generic deformations of the colored sl(N)-homology defined in [arXiv:1002.2662v1]. As applications, we construct non-degenerate pairings and co-pairings which lead to dualities of generic deformations of the colored sl(N)-homology. We also define and study colored sl(N)-Rasmussen invariants. Among other things, we observe that these invariants vanish on amphicheiral knots and discuss some implications of this observation.
