Ultrasound on Seedling Growth of Wheat under Drought Stress Effects  [PDF]

Abstract: This study used different intensity ultrasound treatments, wheat seedlings in the germination energy, germination rate, growth potential, root length, and number of lateral roots optimal radiation dose selection. Studied under drought stress were the optimal dose of radiation treatment of wheat seedling leaf relative water content (RWC), protein content, Methane Dicarboxylic Aldehyde (MDA) content, relative conductivity, Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and the impact of amylase activity. Studies have shown that after ultrasonic treatment enhanced drought resistance of wheat seedlings, alleviate drought stress on wheat seedling injury to 65 W 15 min ultrasonic treatment works best.

Abstract: This study develops a computational model for simulation of behaviors of learners under the influence of motivation and engagement environment based on Cellular Automata (CA). It investigates the changing patterns of learners’ behaviors when motivation and engagement environment are assigned with different values respectively. The simulation process indicates that the internal factor, which is the motivation in this paper, plays a key role in changing learners’ behaviors under certain circumstance and the engagement environment also significantly influences learner’s perception. The results obtained also show good agreement with the phenomenon generally being observed in practice.

Abstract: Water-soluble polysaccharide was isolated from grapefruit with the method of water-dissolving and ethanol-precipitating. By single factor test and orthogonal experimental method, the extraction conditions of the water-soluble polysaccharide were investigated, which contained liquid-solid ratio, temperature, time and pH. The results showed that pH was the most important factor of polysaccharide extraction, followed by temperature. The optimized extraction technology conditions were obtained. The liquid-solid ratio was 1:40, temperature was 90?C, time was 2.0 h, and pH was 2. The highest extraction rate of crude polysaccharide was 8.30%.

Abstract: The dynamic mechanical behaviors of hollow Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10.0Be22.5 bulk metal glass (BMG) are investigated using a splitting Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) in this study. Upon dynamic compressive loading, the hollow specimen exhibit lower strength and poor ductility, caused by the higher stress concentration for the hollow one through FEM modeling. The different strain-rate responses for the hollow specimen are compared and explained. On the fracture surface of the hollow samples, there are highly dense vein patterns, many liquid drops and fishbone-like patterns.

A New Method to Calculate the Recoverable Reserves and Recovery Ratio of Shale Gas Reservoir  [PDF]

Abstract: At present, the most commonly used method to calculate recoverable reserves of shale gas reservoirs is the production decline curve method, which is only applicable to the production wells with decreasing production. For the production wells with constant productions, the material balance method could be used to calculate the recoverable reserves, but it does not consider the particularity of shale gas reservoirs. Under this circumstance, this paper deduces a new calibration method for recoverable reserves of shale gas reservoirs with double porosity medium. The method is based on the material balance equation, which has a wide application range. The method cannot only calculate the recoverable reserves and recoveries of free gas in fractures, but also calculate recoverable reserves and recoveries of free gas and adsorbed gas in the matrix. The calculated results show that the free gas in the shale gas reservoir is mainly in the fractures. The recovery of the free gas in the fractures is relatively high and the recovery of the free gas and adsorbent gas in the matrix is rather low. Gas reservoir recovery and recoverable reserves are more sensitive to abandonment pressure, therefore, in the production process, the reduction of the abandonment pressure of gas reservoir should be attempted. The matrix porosity, the adsorption phase density and the crack compression coefficient have a greater effect on the recovery rate. And the study of these parameters needs to be strengthened in order to obtain more accurate parameters.
Nonlinear Stability and D-Convergence of Additive Runge-Kutta Methods for Multidelay-Integro-Differential Equations

Abstract: This paper is devoted to the stability and convergence analysis of the Additive Runge-Kutta methods with the Lagrangian interpolation (ARKLMs) for the numerical solution of multidelay-integro-differential equations (MDIDEs). GDN-stability and D-convergence are introduced and proved. It is shown that strongly algebraically stability gives D-convergence, DA- DAS- and ASI-stability give GDN-stability. A numerical example is given to illustrate the theoretical results.

Abstract: This paper is devoted to the stability and convergence analysis of the additive Runge-Kutta methods with the Lagrangian interpolation (ARKLMs) for the numerical solution of a delay differential equation with many delays. GDN stability and D-Convergence are introduced and proved. It is shown that strongly algebraically stability gives D-Convergence DA, DAS, and ASI stability give GDN stability. Some examples are given in the end of this paper which confirms our results.
Application of Speaker Recognition Based on LSSVM and GMM Mixture Model

Abstract: The technique of speaker recognition is becoming mature. A system of speaker recognition based on Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM) and Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) mixture model is discussed in this study. The designed system will be considered to application in Internet environment. The performances of different feature parameters are compared such as LPCC, MFCC and WPTMFC in this study. After comparing recognition rate of LSSVM model and LSSVM-GMM mixture model, recognition rate of the system using the mixture model based on LSSVM-GMM is better and the mixture model is chose. The final results show that the system has good recognition rate and is potential for the practical applications.
