Temporal Variation of the Concentration of Carbon Monoxide in the Center West of Brazil  [PDF]
Amaury de Souza, Flavio Aristones, Gustavo Becker Modesto Silva, Widinei Alves Fernandes, Catia Braga
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2014.44051
Abstract: South Mato Grosso has been developing very rapidly in recent decades, and it is clearly leaving behind the status of being solely an agricultural region to become an important state in the areas of commerce and industry. Nevertheless, it is still possible to observe the harmful effects of atmospheric pollution due to biomass burning activities, even if those actions are being systematically reduced in the state throughout the past several years. This kind of pollution persists not only due to local activities but also due to the pollution of other states and even other border countries. Satellite remote sensing has proven to be an important tool of environmental control vis-à-vis the ease of data acquisition, accuracy and wide temporal range. A study has been conducted of spatial and temporal concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) in the state of South Mato Grosso from 2001 through 2012 using the MOPITT sensor onboard the TERRA satellite. The carbon monoxide comes principally from the incomplete combustion of vehicles engines and biomass burnings. A direct correlation of the CO concentration in the state of South Mato Grosso is observed precisely during the months of drought (August to October), for which the number of fire outbreaks is the highest of the year.
Tricobezoar gástrico gigante: relato de caso e revis?o da literatura
Isberner, Rony Klaus;Couto, Carlos Ant?nio da Silva;Scolaro, Bruno Lorenzo;Pereira, Gustavo Becker;Oliveira, Renan;
Radiologia Brasileira , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-39842010000100015
Abstract: the authors describe the case of a palpable epigastric mass associated with dyspeptic symptoms in a young female patient with no previous pathologic history. imaging studies demonstrated the presence of a gastric foreign body with an "entangled appearance". the patient underwent laparotomy and gastrotomy for removal of a trichobezoar weighing 1,950 grams.

ABSTRACT Based on a short story in the book Marcovaldo ou as esta es da cidade (1973), by Italo Calvino, we can infer a series of understanding about consumption. We accept here Heiddegger’s point of view according to which consumption is an onthological necessity. Keywords: Consumption; imagination; language.
Prehistoric Maritime Domain and Brazilian Shellmounds  [PDF]
Gustavo Peretti Wagner, Lucas Antonio da Silva
Archaeological Discovery (AD) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ad.2014.21001
Abstract: For at least six thousand years, the Brazilian coast has been explored extensively by different fishing communities. This article deals with the fishing-gatherer societies as coastal communities proposing an interface between shell sites archaeology and maritime anthropology.
Effect of Trisodium Citrate on the Properties of Electrodeposited Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) Layers on ZnS Thin Films Using a 2-Electrode Method  [PDF]
Gustavo A. Silva Hernandez, Ajith R. Weerasinghe
Advances in Materials Physics and Chemistry (AMPC) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ampc.2018.88021
Abstract: Electrodeposition of CZTS thin films on ZnS was carried using a 2-electrode method to fabricate superstrate structure solar cells. A comprehensive study was performed on the effects of trisodium citrate on the CZTS electrolyte bath. In the present investigation, it is demonstrated that using a CZTS electrolyte with a concentration of 0.2 M trisodium citrate yields CZTS thin films with an electronic bandgap of 1.52 eV, a p-type nature, and good uniformity, which are all results desired for the fabrication of thin film solar cells. Characterization was performed using UV-Vi-IR optical absorption, SEM imaging, Raman spectrometry, and photoelectrochemical cells conducted for electronic bandgap, morphology, chemical composition, and semiconductor conductivity, respectively.
A leitura informacional na teia da intermedialidade: um estudo sobre a informa??o no texto pós-moderno
Saldanha, Gustavo Silva;
Perspectivas em Ciência da Informa??o , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-99362008000100005
Abstract: the paper investigates the presence of the intermedia text complexity in the thought and practices of information science. elements related to the process of information reading - those oriented for the representation, transmission and preservation of information - are discussed in a contemporary text. points that are relevant for the performance of the reader of the information are indicated.
Phylogenetic relationships within Oweniidae Rioja (Polychaeta, Annelida)
Sene-Silva, Gustavo;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81752002000400005
Abstract: the oweniidae consist of five genera of tubiculous polychaetes occurring in all oceans from tropical topolarareas: owenia delle chiaje, 1842, myriochele malmgren, 1867, galathowenia kirkegaard, 1959, myriowenia hartrnan, 1960 and myrioglobula hartrnan, 1967. the group is regarded as monophyletic based on the presence of dense fields of bidentate neuropodial hooks. fourteen species were submitted to a cladistic analysis in paup 3.1.1 with the usage of 19 morphological characters.the taxonomic status of the ingroup taxa could be evaluated and it has been found that: (1) owenia, myriowenia and myrioglobula are monophyletic, and (2) myriochele, and galathowenia are both paraphyletic taxa.
