Fuzzy Data Decision Support in Portfolio Selection: a Possibilistic Safety-first Model

Abstract: Vast pools of historical financial information are available on economies, industry, and individual companies that affect investors’ selection of appropriate portfolios. Fuzzy data provides a good tool to reflect investors’ opinions based on this information. A possibilistic mean variance safety-first portfolio selection model is developed to support investors’ decision making, to take into consideration this fuzzy information. The possibilistic-programming problem can be transformed into a linear optimal problem with an additional quadratic constraint using possibilistic theory. We propose a cutting plane algorithm to solve the programming problem. A numerical example is given to illustrate our approach.

Abstract: In this paper we present an application of fuzzy estimators method to price European call currency option. We make use of fuzzy estimators for the volatility of exchange rate which based on statistical data to obtain the fuzzy pattern of G-K model. A numerical example is presented to get the -level closed intervals of the European call currency option fuzzy price.
The Optimal Portfolio Model Based on Mean-CVaR  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper proposed the optimal portfolio model maximizing returns and minimizing the risk expressed as CvaR under the assumption that the portfolio yield subject to heavy tail. We use fuzzy mathematics method to solve the multi-objectives model, and compare the model results to the case under the normal distribution yield assumption based on the portfolio VAR through empirical research. It is showed that our return is approximate to M-V model but risk is higher than M-V model. So it is illustrated that CVaR predicts the potential risk of the portfolio, which will help investors to cautious investment.
Flag-Transitive 6-(v, k, 2) Designs  [PDF]

The automorphism group of a flag-transitive 6–(v, k, 2) design is a 3-homogeneous permutation group. Therefore, using the classification theorem of 3–homogeneous permutation groups, the classification of flag-transitive 6-(v, k,2) designs can be discussed. In this paper, by analyzing the combination quantity relation of 6–(v, k, 2) design and the characteristics of 3-homogeneous permutation groups, it is proved that: there are no 6–(v, k, 2) designs D admitting a flag transitive group G ≤ Aut (D) of automorphisms.

Abstract: Based on a thorough study of the relationship between array element accesses and loop indices of the nested loop, a method is presented with which the staggering relation and the compacting relation between the threads of the nested loop (either with a single linear function or with multiple linear functions) can be determined at compile-time,and accordingly the nested loop (either perfectly nested one or imperfectly nested one)can be restructured to avoid the thrashing problem. Due to its simplicity, our method can be efficiently implemented in any parallel compiler, and the improvement of the performance is significant as shown by the experimental results.

Abstract: Parallel loops account for the greatest amount of parallelism in numerical programs.Executing nested loops in parallel with low run-time overhead is thus very important for achieving high performance in parallel processing systems.However,in parallel processing systems with caches or local memories in memory hierarchies,“thrashing problemmay”may arise whenever data move back and forth between the caches or local memories in different processors.Previous techniques can only deal with the rather simple cases with one linear function in the perfactly nested loop.In this paper,we present a parallel program optimizing technique called hybri loop interchange(HLI)for the cases with multiple linear functions and loop-carried data dependences in the nested loop.With HLI we can easily eliminate or reduce the thrashing phenomena without reucing the program parallelism.

In this paper, we find a necessary and sufficient condition for (H, R) to have a ribbon element. The condition gives a connection with the order of G (H) and the order of S2.
