Incontinência urinária de esfor?o em mulheres pertencentes ao Programa de Saúde da Família de Dourados (MS)

Abstract: objective: to describe prevalence of stress urinary incontinence (sui) in women over 20 years of age , who participate in the family health program (fhp) in dourados, mato grosso do sul, brazil and to correlate with the following variables: age, body mass index (bmi), parity, number of pregnancies, hysterectomy, smoking and diabetes mellitus. methods: the study was cross sectional , using a household survey, where 336 women above 20 years of age and who did not have exclusion criteria were interviewed. two forms were used in the interview: to complete demographic data and iciq-sf questionnaire, that evaluates impact on the quality of life (ql). for statistical analysis, the chi-square test, student's t test the corrected coefficient contingency and a forward stepwise logistic regression model were used. results: prevalence of sui in the study was 21.4%. in relation to the risk factors, age (p=0,113), smoking (p = 0,796) and diabetes mellitus (p = 0,221) had no statistically significant association. on the other hand, the bmi (p = 0.007), number of pregnancies (p = 0.018), parity (p = 0,032) and hysterectomy (p = 0.024) presented association, however weak. using logistic regression, only pairing of weight and hysterectomy were able to predict the outcome (sui). the majority of patients (63,9%) had considered impairment in the ql as very serious. conclusion: prevalence of sui observed was similar to that of other studies; bmi, parity, number of pregnancies and hysterectomy were associated with that pathology, which has a serious effect on the ql.

Abstract: O tempo de circula o (longevidade) e o alcance geográfico (dispers o) constituem dois dentre os aspectos relacionados com a consolida o de um periódico. Por outro lado, os primeiros cinco anos de uma revista podem ser considerados como período probatório para sua sobrevivência. Com base no Catálogo Coletivo Nacional de Publica es Seriadas do Instituto Brasileiro de Informa o em Ciência e Tecnologia, foram identificados 34 periódicos sobre Pesquisa, 42 sobre Ensino e 253 sobre Educa o, que têm algum fascículo editado no corrente qüinqüênio. Destes, 73,5%, 31,0% e 36,4%, respectivamente, correspondem a periódicos que têm 5 ou menos anos decorridos desde sua implanta o até a edi o do fascículo mais recente. Dos que apresentam edi es por mais de cinco anos, a mediana de vida é de 11 anos (Pesquisa), 15 anos (Ensino) e 11 anos (Educa o). Cerca da metade dos títulos de cada área s o encontrados em bibliotecas institucionais de 5 ou mais Estados da Federa o, sendo que 5,9% (Pesquisa), 21,4% (Ensino) e 13,4% (Educa o) fazem parte do acervo de bibliotecas de 10 ou mais Estados. Como resultado desse trabalho, é apresentado o perfil etário e de dispers o dos periódicos, além de sua identifica o pelo título e ISSN, dados que favorecem sua localiza o em sistemas de busca eletr nica ou física. The period of circulation (longevity) and the geographical scope (dispersion) are two among the aspects related to the consolidation of a periodical. On the other hand, the first five years of a review can be considered the trial period for its survival. According to the National General Catalog of Serial Publications of the Brazilian Institute of Science and Technology Information, 34 periodicals on Research, 42 on Teaching and 253 on Education have been identified, considering those that have at least one issue published in this quinquennium. Of these, 73,5%, 31,0% and 36,4%, respectively, correspond to periodicals that have lasted 5 or fewer years from the time of their initial publication to the one of their latest issue. Of these that have been published for more than five years, the median period of existence is of 11 years (Research), 15 years (Teaching) and 11 years (Education). Approximately half of the titles of each area can be found in institutional libraries of 5 or more States of our Federative Republic, and, among them, 5,9% (Research), 21,4% (Teaching) and 13,4% (Education) are part of the inventories of libraries of 10 or more States. Abstract: this study evaluates food intake of 244 children between ages 7-13 years using records of ingested foods on three non-consecutive days. the study analyzes energy and nutrient adequacy based on standards for the brazilian population. diet was generally found to be energy-deficient: meals consumed at the cieps met less than 70% of the requirement. on the other hand, protein was well above recommended levels. worthy of note was the adequacy of meals in the cieps as to vitamin a, thiamin, riboflavin, and niacin, as well as the surprising adequacy of ascorbic acid, resulting from the frequent presence of citrus fruits in school meals. except for older students, all schoolchildren studied had greater than 90% minimum iron intake. as for calcium, again except for older ones, consumption was 100% or more of minimum required levels. results showed the need to correct flaws in the nutritional content of school meals, which are central to dietary intake for ciep students.

Abstract: Descreve-se o consumo alimentar de amostra (n = 224) de alunos matriculados em escolas de tempo integral do munic -pio de Americana, Estado de S £o Paulo. Utilizou-se o registro de alimentos ingeridos pelos escolares, durante 3 dias n £o consecutivos da semana. Para a defini § £o das recomenda § μes de energia e nutrientes, adotou-se padr £o proposto por Martins & Hidalgo para a popula § £o brasileira. Com o objetivo de conhecer a qualidade nutricional, utilizou-se o -ndice proposto por Sorenson & Hansen. Entre os princ -pais resultados destacam-se: o consumo de l cteos que ocorre de forma praticamente exclusiva no desjejum (efetuado nas escolas) e o elevado n omero de cita § μes de consumo de p £o, embutidos e refrigerantes em domic -lio. Esse resultado sugere que os escolares est £o substituindo, sobretudo, o jantar tradicional por lanches, considerados, pelos jovens, de maior praticidade. Quanto qualidade nutricional da dieta, ressaltam-se os elevados valores do -ndice de Qualidade Nutricional (IQN), verificados para o cido asc 3rbico, e n omeros superiores a 1,0, observados para o IQN do ferro das refei § μes da maioria dos escolares analisados, com exce § £o somente para as refei § μes consumidas pelos alunos de maior idade (13 anos ou mais). Recomenda- se a corre § £o de falhas no conte odo nutricional das refei § μes distribuidas nas escolas, pois elas constituem parte fundamental do consumo alimentar dos alunos das escolas de tempo integral.

Abstract: In this article, which is part of a broader research, we discuss the relationship between Science vs. Education, once one of the greatest challenges of the modern world is to educate societies scientifically. We hypothesize that Science, or rather, a certain concept of science is a crucial tool for the civilization of the XXI century, in which a discursive memory (re)modernizes: that of “lack of”, “incapable of”, “it is hard to” in relation to the general population towards the understanding of science, to be (since always) filled by formal and non-formal education, and that there is a minority which dominates this knowledge, a minority who shall change the world (but not the core of the world) when they succeed in giving to all what they lack.

Organization of school work in focus: the limits of antidemocratic inheritance and potential of participatory processes

Abstract: Historically, democratic and participatory processes in the Brazilian society, and specifically in school, have been permeated by intermittences, weaknesses and resistances caused by multiple determinations. The text focuses on aspects concerningthe organization of education work through two lines of analysis: the first angle refers to the social constructs of structural and organic nature linked to relations of power andanti-democratic practices of the society in general. The second angle reference to a kindof ethnographic research, conducted within a public school in the Minas Gerais state. We seek to grasp the challenges on building practices and strategies in support of the participatory processes of the school community in the pedagogic project design and in the operation of the school board. We propose, with these analyses, to contribute withreflections on the status of teachers, as a subject, in the school organization throughconnections with work activities related to their everyday practice.
