Steady state speed distribution analysis for a combined cellular automaton traffic model

Abstract: Cellular Automaton (CA) based traffic flow models have been extensively studied due to their effectiveness and simplicity in recent years. This paper develops a discrete time Markov chain (DTMC) analytical framework for a Nagel--Schreckenberg and Fukui--Ishibashi combined CA model (W$^2$H traffic flow model) from microscopic point of view to capture the macroscopic steady state speed distributions. The inter-vehicle spacing Markov chain and the steady state speed Markov chain are proved to be irreducible and ergodic. The theoretical speed probability distributions depending on the traffic density and stochastic delay probability are in good accordance with numerical simulations. The derived fundamental diagram of the average speed from theoretical speed distributions is equivalent to the results in the previous work.
Short-segment Barrett’s esophagus and cardia intestinal metaplasia: A comparative analysis

Abstract: AIM: To investigate the endoscopy and histology of short-segment Barrett’s esophagus (SSBE) and cardia intestinal metaplasia (CIM), and their correlation with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) gastritis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).METHODS: Biopsy specimens were taken from 32 SSBE patients and 41 CIM patients with normal appearance of the esophagogastric junction. Eight biopsy specimens from the lower esophagus, cardia, and gastric antrum were stained with hematoxylin/eosin, Alcian blue/periodic acid-Schiff, Alcian blue/high iron diamine and Gimenez dye. Results were graded independently by one pathologist.RESULTS: The SSBE patients were younger than the CIM patients (P < 0.01). The incidence of dysplasia and incomplete intestinal metaplasia subtype was higher in SSBE patients than in CIM patients (P < 0.01). H. pylori infection was correlated with antral intestinal metaplasia (P < 0.05), but not with reflux symptomatic, endoscopic, or histological markers of GERD in CIM patients. SSBE was correlated with reflux symptomatic and endoscopic esophagitis (P < 0.01), but not with H. pylori infection and antral intestinal metaplasia.CONCLUSION: Dysplasia risk is significantly greater in SSBE patients than in CIM patients. CIM is a manifestation of H. pylori-associated and multifocal atrophic gastritis, whereas SSBE may result from GERD.
Multi-Locus Analysis Reveals A Different Pattern of Genetic Diversity for Mitochondrial and Nuclear DNA between Wild and Domestic Pigs in East Asia

Abstract: Background A major reduction of genetic diversity in mtDNA occurred during the domestication of East Asian pigs. However, the extent to which genetic diversity has been lost in the nuclear genome is uncertain. To reveal levels and patterns of nucleotide diversity and to elucidate the genetic relationships and demographic history of domestic pigs and their ancestors, wild boars, we investigated 14 nuclear markers (including 8 functional genes, 2 pseudogenes and 4 intergenic regions) from 11 different chromosomes in East Asia-wide samples and pooled them with previously obtained mtDNA data for a combined analysis. Principal Findings The results indicated that domestic pigs and wild boars possess comparable levels of nucleotide diversity across the nuclear genome, which is inconsistent with patterns that have been found in mitochondrial genome. Conclusions This incongruence between the mtDNA and nuclear genomes is suggestive of a large-scale backcross between male wild boars and female domestic pigs in East Asia. Our data reveal the impacts of founder effects and backcross on the pig genome and help us better understand the complex demographic histories of East Asian pigs, which will be useful for future work on artificial selection.
A characterization for the flow behavior of as-extruded 7075 aluminum alloy by the improved Arrhenius model with variable parameters

Abstract: in order to perform the numerical simulations of forging response and establish the processing parameters for as-extruded 7075 aluminum alloy, the compressive deformation behavior of as-extruded 7075 aluminum alloy were investigated at the temperatures of 573 k, 623 k, 673 k and 723 k and the strain rates of 0.01 s-1, 0.1 s-1, 1 s-1 and 10 s-1 on a gleeble1500 thermo-mechanical simulator. based on the analysis of the effect of strain, temperature and strain rate on flow stress, dynamic recrystallization (drx) type softening characteristics of the stress-strain curve with single peak were identified. the traditional arrhenius type model is in favor of the prediction for the flow stress at a fixed strain, and can not satisfy the need of the numerical simulations of various hot forming processes due to the lack of the effect of strain on flow stress. lin et al. improved arrhenius type model with a series of variable coefficients as functions of true strain (including activation energy of deformation q, material constants n and a, and structure factor a) to predict the flow stress during the hot compression. the application has been demonstrated in this work for as-extruded 7075 aluminum alloy. the comparisons between the predicted and experimental results show that, for the worst case, the error in the flow stress estimate is 5.63%, and the max mean error is 3.6%. the developed model provides fast, accurate and consistent results, making it superior to the conventional arrhenius type model. in further it can be used in computer code to model the forging response of 7075 aluminum alloy mechanical part members under the prevailing loading conditions.

Abstract: In this paper, a new algorithm was proposed to analyze the decision problem to XPath in XML data which is represented as regular tree. By this way we could also check the static data's type of XPath. Based on the decidability of a logic with converse for finite ordered tree,we proved that its' time complexity is a simple exponential of the size of a formula. Then a practical and effective mathematical model was built to slow the satisfiability problem of a formula.Through some examples of decision problems, such as XPath emptiness, containment, overlap, and coverage, with or without type constraints, the algorithm was confirmed by these experiments that our system can be effectively used in static analyzers for both XPath expressions and XMI. type annotations.
Evaluating Model of Cache Miss in the Filtering of XML Data

Abstract: One of the most important factor in the data-intensive system(ig. XML filtering engine) with memory resident is hardware cache behavior. Now, the popular researches in XML filtering are based on the automata to express the XML query. In this paper, we studied the cache performance of XML filtering based on the automata by the analytical modeling and system measurement, and estimated the cache miss in the infra-round model and inter-round model instead of the general estimation in the cache. Our results show that our estimation engine has more accuracy.

Abstract: A novel vector sensors array calibration method based on subspace approaches in the presence of phase errors on high-resolution estimation methods is presented in this paper. Because of the complexity of vector sensors, the available methods for estimating the channel phase errors of the scalar sensors are not suitable for vector sensors. The computational formulas of the channel phase errors are derived in this paper. Finally, simulation results verify the effectiveness of the new algorithm.
Novel Filter Design for Detecting Weak Targets of Slow Speed Out of Multi-mode Clutters

Abstract: The paper presents a novel stagger MTt filter design algorithm, which can detect weak targets of slow speed out of multi-mode clutters. The method is carried out by slipping pulses, and the best pulse repetitive frequencies selected by gradient-GA make the first notch as shallow as possible, so the weak targets in the first notch can be detected. Multi-model clutters can be suppressed by MTI filter, and blind-velocity can be appeared out of three times velocity of sound. Combined GA's the capability of the whole searching and not limited by selection of initial parameter with the gradient GA's advantage of fast searching, it can offer fewer initial population and low computation complexity. The simulation and performance analysis demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the algorithm.
A Modified Method for Estimation of the Parameters of Partially Polarized Electromagnetic Waves

Abstract: In this paper, a modified method is proposed to estimate the Direction Of Arrival (DOA) and Degree Of Polarization (DOP) of Partially Polarized (PP) electromagnetic waves. This method makes full use of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrix, which results in automatic combination of parameters, reduction of computation and improvement of precision. Finally, the simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new algorithm.
