The Effect of Initial Oxidation on Long-Term Oxidation of NiCoCrAlY Alloy  [PDF]

Abstract: The initial oxidation behavior of Ni-6.5Co-17.8Cr-3.7Al-0.5Y alloy is investigated at 800°C-1000°C. X-ray diffraction results show that the dominant Cr2O3 phase and secondary α-Al2O3 and NiO phases are observed on the surface of samples at all initial stages (oxidized for 16 hours). YAlO3 and θ-Al2O3 can only be detected at low temperature (800°C) while the spinel NiCr2O4 is only observed at 900°C and 1000°C. Though the growth rates of α-Al2O3 and Cr2O3 are comparable at 900°C, the former becomes much lower than the latter when the temperature changes to 1000°C. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that the α-Al2O3 grows from some irregular ditches in the chromia scale at 900°C. However, cracking and spalling are more serious at 1000°C without α-Al2O3-grown-ditches, which is in accordance with the growth rates of these oxides at different temperatures. The cracking can be explained by the results of Raman determination which indicate that the stress on the surface of specimen oxidized at 1000°C is higher than that at 900°C. Owing to this condition, a preoxidation treatment on the NiCoCrAlY alloy for 16 hours is prepared at 900°C, and then thermal cycling oxidation test is conducted at 1000°C for 200 hours. The result indicates that the initial preoxidation treatment at 900°C improves the oxidation resistance of alloy at 1000°C.

Abstract: Thermal analysis has been adopted to determine the liquidus and eutectic temperature of Fe-20%Cr-Mn alloy over range of Mn and C contents.Using regression analysis,the par- tial quasi-binary phase diagrams of Fe-Mn alloy(solidification range)have been con- structed.And the effect of Mn content on liquidus and eutectic temperature was discussed.

Abstract: 利用5kW CO2激光器重熔Al-Si合金表面的Ni-Cr-B-Si等离子喷涂层。SEM和TEM分析结果表明,激光熔层内晶化区和非晶化区共存,在后续熔区的传热作用和周围结晶潜热作用下,有部分非晶晶化为Ni3Al纳米晶(2-5nm),其中一些逐渐长大成为细小的粒状晶。未晶化区硬度极高(HV=1235),是原等离子喷涂层硬度的4倍。

Distinct Determinants in HIV-1 Vif and Human APOBEC3 Proteins Are Required for the Suppression of Diverse Host Anti-Viral Proteins

Abstract: Background APOBEC3G (A3G) and related cytidine deaminases of the APOBEC3 family of proteins are potent inhibitors of many retroviruses, including HIV-1. Formation of infectious HIV-1 requires the suppression of multiple cytidine deaminases by Vif. HIV-1 Vif suppresses various APOBEC3 proteins through the common mechanism of recruiting the Cullin5-ElonginB-ElonginC E3 ubiquitin ligase to induce target protein polyubiquitination and proteasome-mediated degradation. The domains in Vif and various APOBEC3 proteins required for APOBEC3 recognition and degradation have not been fully characterized. Methods and Findings In the present study, we have demonstrated that the regions of APOBEC3F (A3F) that are required for its HIV-1-mediated binding and degradation are distinct from those reported for A3G. We found that the C-terminal cytidine deaminase domain (C-CDD) of A3F alone is sufficient for its interaction with HIV-1 Vif and its Vif-mediated degradation. We also observed that the domains of HIV-1 Vif that are uniquely required for its functional interaction with full-length A3F are also required for the degradation of the C-CDD of A3F; in contrast, those Vif domains that are uniquely required for functional interaction with A3G are not required for the degradation of the C-CDD of A3F. Interestingly, the HIV-1 Vif domains required for the degradation of A3F are also required for the degradation of A3C and A3DE. On the other hand, the Vif domains uniquely required for the degradation of A3G are dispensable for the degradation of cytidine deaminases A3C and A3DE. Conclusions Our data suggest that distinct regions of A3F and A3G are targeted by HIV-1 Vif molecules. However, HIV-1 Vif suppresses A3F, A3C, and A3DE through similar recognition determinants, which are conserved among Vif molecules from diverse HIV-1 strains. Mapping these determinants may be useful for the design of novel anti-HIV inhibitors.

Abstract: Logistics information system should be reconfigurable, open and extensible to support the total supply chain. Soft com-ponent technology is introduced to design and build the logistics information system oriented to the business demand of kinds of supply chains. When the supply chain is changed, logistics information system organizes all kinds of required logistics resources, by recalling predefined soft components to dynamically configure logistics information system, which can ensure quick respond to the changes of supply chain demand and support dynamic reconfiguration of the logistics information system. In this paper, a method of reconfiguration of logistics information system by using soft component technology is proposed. The key problems to the subject domain are investigated and an illustrative case study is presented.
Empirical Study on the Performance of Initial Public Offerings in China  [PDF]

Abstract: We study the long-run performance of 166 IPOs listed on China’s Shanghai Stock Exchanges from 2000 to 2002. We find that the average market-adjusted cumulative return and buy-and-hold return over the three years after listing are -32.02% and -20.88%, which are both significantly negative. What’s more, as an additional robustness check, we cal-culate wealth relatives. One year after listing, WR less than 1 and we obtain a three-year wealth relative of 0.6826, consistent with the CAR and BHAR estimates. We then use a cross-sectional analysis to explain the long-run underper-formance of Chinese IPOs. The results show that the aftermarket performance is positive after listing (6 months) but thereafter returns decline. Buying A-share IPOs immediately after listing and holding the investment for three years results in negative returns and wealth relatives less than one.

Abstract: According to the formula of translational motion of vector along an infinitesimal closed curve in gravitational space, this article shows that the space and time both are quantized; the called center singularity of Schwarzschild metric does not exist physically, and Einstein’s theory of gravity is compatible with the traditional quantum theory in essence; the quantized gravitational space is just the spin network which consists of infinite quantized loops linking and intersecting each other, and that whether the particle is in spin eigenstate depends on the translational track of its spin vector in gravitational space.
