Abstract: in brazil there is a great lack of studies and literature about the peach reproduction. the present review discusses a lot of research results regarding the main factors involved in the reproduction of this species, and it has the intention to help future researches that aims to understand or to resolve the problems associated with the reproduction of the peach tree. by this review it was possible to verify that the process of fruit set is complex for some cultivars and highly dependent on each phenological stage. the ability of the professionals and producers to integrate the factors rootstocks, variety, environment and adequate cultural practices is very important for a successful peach tree production.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the plastic overhead cover (poc) effect on must and wine composition of the cultivar moscato giallo. in 2006 vintage, it was performed a completely randomly designed experiment, in a vineyard covered with an impermeable plastic cloth, and without covering as control. from each vineyard, three microvinification (20 l) were elaborated. physico-chemical analysis were performed for: musts - obrix, reducer sugar contents, density, total acidity, tartaric acid, malic acid and ph; and wines - density, alcohol degree, acidity, volatile acidity, ph, dry extract, reducer sugar contents, ashes, i 420, volatile compounds and minerals. the must of the covered vineyard presented higher yield, but lower sugar content, due to delay on ripening. as consequence, the poc wines showed lower alcohol degree, but with the benefit of a lower ethyl-acetate and volatile acidity levels. the poc microclimate also caused a decrease of some minerals (mainly p and k) in the wines. poc improved the enological quality, however, this demands delay in the harvest date to achieve the adequate physiological and technological maturation of grapes.

Abstract: the peach cultivar granada is showing low fruit set and irregularity of yield in major producing regions of peach fruit in rio grande do sul state, brazil. this work aimed to compare the floral development and yield of 'granada' peach tree in two regions with different climatic conditions. the orchards studied, in 2004 and 2005, are located in charqueadas, in the central depression, and cangu?u, in the southern state. the low yield and viability of pollen, associated to delay in the ovules development, mainly influenced by high temperatures during the pré-flowering and flowering, were the causes of low reproductive and productive performance of 'granada' peach tree at charqueadas in 2004 and at cangu?u in 2005.

Abstract: microclimate alterations promoted by plastic covering over vineyards interfere in the plant physiology and fungal diseases incidence on grapevines. the aim of this research was to evaluate the influence of the plastic covering on the microclimate of vineyards, in particular on the quality of the incoming solar radiation. the experiment was carried out in 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons in flores da cunha-rs, in a vineyard of moscato giallo cultivar shaped in y, with impermeable plastic (160μm) over 12 rows of 35m length and five rows without covering (control). in both treatments the air temperature and humidity, incoming photosynthetically radiation and wind speed were measured at the level of the canopy and clusters. continuing measurements were taken through sensors and automatic acquisition systems (datalogger). influences of the covering on quality of the incoming solar radiation, from 300 to 750nm, were evaluated through a spectroradiometer. the impermeable plastic covering above the plant rows increased the air temperature and decreased the photosynthetically radiation and wind speed. the covering interfered on the quality of the incoming solar radiation, by reducing mainly the irradiance in the ultraviolet band and reducing also the ratio between the irradiance in the red and far-red bands.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of plastic cover on the yield components of grapevine (vitis vinifera l.) cultivar moscato giallo. the experiment was carried out in 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 crop seasons, in flores da cunha, rs, brazil, in two vineyard areas, one covered with an impermeable plastic film and other without covering (control). the microclimate was evaluated in terms of air temperature, air relative humidity, photosynthetically active radiation and wind speed above canopy and close to clusters. the yield components were evaluated in a completely randomized design, in ten plants randomly selected in each area. measures were made for production per plant, yield per hectare, clusters per vine, clusters per square meter, twigs per square meter, weight and length of clusters, weight of rachis, number of berries per cluster, diameter of berries, and skim/pulp ratio. plastic cover promotes yield increases, does not affect pulp/skin ratio, and promotes production stability, independently of climate conditions in each season.

Abstract: the peach industry is of great economic importance in southern brazil. the state of rio grande do sul is the major peach producer in the country. about 50% of the production areas of the state are located in its southern half. the main problem of peach production is the very concentrated harvest season. fruit size is also a problem. therefore the objectives of the present work were to increase fruit size and to spread the harvesting period of peaches cv. diamante by the application of 3,5,6-tricloro-2-piridil-oxiacetic acid (3,5,6-tpa; free acid and amine alcohol) or 2,4-diclorofenoxipropionic acid (2,4-dp; ester) as well as associate these chemicals with and without ringing of branches. the evaluations were performed in the season 1999/2000 on plants at the experimental agricultural station of federal university of rio grande do sul, located in eldorado do sul, latitude 30o39's, longitude of 51o06'w and altitud of 46 meters. the following treatments were applied in a randomized block design with 4 replications and one plant as experimental unit: 1) 10 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa amine alcohol 2) 20 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa amine alcohol 3) 30 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa amine alcohol 4) 20 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa, amine alcohol plus ringing of branches; 5) 30 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa free acid; 6) 30 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa free acid plus ringing of branches; 7) 25 mg.l-1 of 2,4-dp; 8) 50 mg.l-1 of 2,4-dp; 9) 75 mg.l-1 of 2,4-dp; 10) 50 mg.l-1 of 2,4-dp plus ringing of branches; 11) ringing of branches in september and 12) control, with no treatment at all. auxin application does not increase total fruit production of peach trees. however, auxin treatments, specially 3,5,6-tpa free acid, anticipated peach harvest for about 20 days in comparison to control trees. the treatments with 30 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa free acid result in increments of diameter and length in comparison to, but are not significantly diffent from all other treatments. the treatments 20 mg.l-1 of 3,5,6-tpa amine alcohol and 75 mg.l-

Abstract: O cultivo de pessegueiros é uma atividade de grande importancia econ mica no Sul do Brasil, onde se destaca o Estado do Rio Grande do Sul como grande produtor brasileiro, sendo que 50% dos pomares se encontram na Metade Sul do Estado. Um dos principais problemas do pessegueiro é o tamanho dos frutos e a produ o em épocas concentradas que dificultam a comercializa o. Com o intuito de aumentar o tamanho e expandir o período de colheita do fruto, estudou-se o efeito de aplica es de auxinas e da execu o da incis o anelar (I.A.) em ramos do pessegueiro 'Diamante'. A avalia o foi realizada no ano agrícola de 1999-2000, na Esta o Experimental Agron mica da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), situada em Eldorado do Sul-RS, na latitude 30o39'S, longitude 51o06'W e a altitude de 46 metros. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repeti es e uma planta por parcela, com os seguintes tratamentos: 1) 10 mg.L-1 3,5,6-TPA álcool amina; 2) 20 mg.L-1 3,5,6-TPA álcool amina; 3) 30 mg.L-1 3,5,6-TPA álcool amina; 4) 20 mg.L-1 3,5,6-TPA álcool amina + (I.A.); 5) 30 mg.L-1 3,5,6-TPA ácido livre; 6) 30 mg.L-1 3,5,6-TPA ácido livre + (I.A.); 7) 25 mg.L-1 2,4-DP éster; 8) 50 mg.L-1 2,4-DP éster; 9) 75 mg.L-1 2,4-DP éster; 10) 50 mg.L-1 2,4-DP éster + (I.A.); 11) Incis o Anelar (I.A.) e 12) Testemunha. Os resultados demonstraram que os tratamentos com auxinas e (I.A.) n o aumentaram o peso total de frutos por planta. Os tratamentos com auxinas, especialmente o 3,5,6-TPA 30 mg.L-1 ácido livre, com (I.A.) ou n o, anteciparam a colheita em cerca de 20 dias. O tratamento com 30 mg.L-1 de 3,5,6-TPA ácido livre, associado à incis o anelar, resultou em incrementos de diametro e comprimento dos frutos em rela o à testemunha, porém n o diferiu estatisticamente dos demais tratamentos. Os tratamentos 3,5,6 TPA 20 mg.L-1 e 2,4 DP (éster) 75 mg.L-1 anteciparam a colheita em 20 dias e n o diferiram estatisticamente do tratamentos 30 mg.L-1 3,5,6 TPA ácido livre. A distribui o dos frutos de primeira categoria foi superior para os tratamentos 30 mg.L-1 3,5,6 TPA ácido livre + (I.A.) e 20 mg.L-1 de 3,5,6-TPA (álcool amina), embora n o diferindo estatisticamente da testemunha.

Abstract: with the objective of advancing crop and increasing the final size of the fruit of cultivating of peach tree sentry in the area of the central depression of rs, applications of two synthesis auxin were accomplished 3,5,6 -tpa (acid 3,5,6 - tricloropiridiloxiacético) and 2,4-dp (acid 2,4-diclorofenoxipropi?nico) and the use of the incision to pant in branches. the evaluation was accomplished among the agricultural years of 1998 and 1999, in the agronomic experimental station of the federal university of rio grande do sul (ufrgs), located in eldorado of the south, rs to the latitude 30°39's and longitude 51°06'w. the experimental design was of blocks randomized with four repetitions and treatments: 1) 3,5,6-tpa 10 mg l-1; 2) 3,5,6-tpa 20 mg l-1; 3) 3,5,6-tpa 30 mg l-1; 4) 3,5,6-tpa 20 mg l-1 + inis?o to pant; 5) 2,4-dp 25 mg l-1; 6) 2,4-dp 50 mg l-1; 7) 2,4-dp 75 mg l-1; 8) 2,4-dp 50 mg l-1 + anelamento; 9) incision to pant and 10) witness. the treatments were made in the phase of lignification of the endocarp - stadium ii - in the days in plants previously submitted to the manual fruit thinning on the 17/09/99. already for the treatments with auxins, especially 3,5,6 tpa 20 mg l-1 with incision to pant or they didn't advance the crop about 15 days. the treatments did not affect the quality of the fruits in terms of pulp firmness. the tenor of total soluble solids (tenor of sugar) in a way not very egg white, not evidencing to your influences in the tenor of sugar of the fruit.
Efeito da aplica??o de cianamida hidrogenada e óleo mineral na quebra de dormência e produc?o do pessegueiro-'Flamecrest'

Abstract: with the objective of increasing yields and fruit quality of cv. flamecrest peaches, a cultivar with high chilling units demand, the present experiment was conducted in an orchard near to the farroupilha city, in the year 2000. the hidrogen cyanamid and mineral oil were applied in two different times: middle of july and begining of august. the dormancy breaking, flowering, fruit set, yield, and antecipation of harvest were evaluated from plants of the folllowing treatments: 1,22; 2,45; 3,675 or 4,90 g of i.a.l-1 hydrogen cyanamid together with 10 g i.a l-1 of mineral oil or a single application of 10 g i.a l-1 mineral oil. the control plants were not sprayed with the dormancy breaking treatment. none of the treatments resulted in sprouting antecipation of flowering buds however, plants treated with 1,22 or 4,90 g i.a l-1 hydrogen cyanamid mixed with 10 g i.a l-1 mineral oil, had a higher number of sprouted vegetative buds. there was no significant effect of the period of application on flowering and fruit set. the number of fruits thinned out from each plant was higher for the treatments with 2,45 or 4,90 g i.a l-1 of hydrogen cyanamid mixed with 10 g i.a l-1 of mineral oil. when applied to peaches trees in july, the treatments with 1,22 and 3,675 g i.a. l-1 of hydragen cyanamid and 10 g i.a. l-1 of mineral oil resulted in a higher number of fruits and total yield per plant. all the treatments, in the second apllication period, produced higher yields. the average fruit weight, total soluble solids and pulp firmness were not influenced by the treatments.
Efeito da aplica o de cianamida hidrogenada e óleo mineral na quebra de dormência e produc o do pessegueiro-'Flamecrest'

Abstract: Com o objetivo de aumentar a produ o e qualidade de frutos do pessegueiro- 'Flamecrest', de alta exigência em frio, realizou-se um experimento no Município de Farroupilha-RS, no ano de 2000, com o uso de cianamida hidrogenada e óleo mineral. Estudou-se o efeito de duas diferentes épocas de aplica o dos tratamentos (15-7 e 2-8) sobre a brota o, flora o, frutifica o, produ o e antecipa o de colheita. Foram testados os efeitos dos seguintes tratamentos: cianamida hidrogenada (C.H.) 1,22; 2,45; 3,675 e 4,90 g de i.a.L-1 com óleo mineral (O.M.) 10 g de i.a.L-1; O.M. 10 g de i.a.L-1 isolado e testemunha (sem pulveriza o). Os tratamentos n o anteciparam a brota o das gemas floríferas, porém C.H. 2,45 e 4,90 g de i.a.L-1 com O.M. a 10 g de i.a.L-1 proporcionaram plantas com maior brota o das gemas vegetativas. N o houve efeito marcante dos tratamentos sobre a flora o e a porcentagem de frutos vingados nas duas épocas. O número de frutos raleados por planta foi superior para os tratamentos com C.H. 2,45 e 4,90 g de i.a.L-1 com O.M. 10 g de i.a.L-1 quando aplicados na segunda época. Já, para o número e massa total dos frutos colhidos, destacaram-se, na primeira época (15-7), os tratamentos com C.H. 1,22 e 3,675 g de i.a.L-1 + O.M. 10 g de i.a.L-1 e, na segunda época (2-8), os tratamentos com C.H. 2,45 e 4,90 g de i.a.L-1 + O.M. 10 g de i.a.L-1. Os tratamentos da segunda época resultaram em produ es médias superiores à primeira. A massa média dos frutos n o foi alterada de forma clara pelos tratamentos, assim como o teor de sólidos solúveis totais e a resistência de polpa.
