Abstract: adequate methodologies for supporting the development of software have been the object of much research. identifying the perceptions of the people involved, both developers and users, is an important aspect of quality software construction. this paper presents a study aimed at identifying how information system developers and users perceive decision support systems. the survey was carried out with subjects from the society of computer science and telecommunications users (sucesu) and the society for the promotion of excellence in brazilian software (softex), in the state of pernambuco, brazil. the study contains both a descriptive and a factual data analysis with respect to the professional activity of the subject, in order to distinguish the most important characteristics of sad in each group under study. the result of this evaluation is that the chief factors to be considered in methodologies directed at the development of sad have been identified.

Abstract: this article conducts a brief conceptual discussion about the relationship between imagination and childhood, indicating factors considered favourable to children's imagination: the arts, time, nature, adult mediation and narrative. processes children use to create hypotheses concerning worldly phenomena are investigated, highlighting the role of curiosity and narrative sharing. aspects of children's imaginative lives are examined, especially in pedagogical contexts, exploring opportunities for educational action - with an emphasis on oral narratives - which integrate different fields of knowledge in a non-dualist way and promote the opening of paths to discovery.
Bounds on Diatomic Molecules in a Relativistic Model
Natalie Gilka
Physics , 2010, DOI: 10.1063/1.3321495
Abstract: We consider diatomic systems in which the kinetic energy of the electrons is treated in a simple relativistic model. The Born-Oppenheimer approximation is assumed. We investigate questions of stability, deducing bounds on the number $N$ of electrons, the binding energy $\Delta E_b$ and the equilibrium bond distance $R_0$. We use a known localization argument adopted to the present relativistic setting, with particular consideration of the critical point of stability, as well as the recently proved relativistic Scott correction.

Abstract: the adoption of mechanized harvesting associated to the sugarcane handling system generates ground compaction which affects the water availability to the plants. the recent handling technique named traffic control is viewed as an alternative for sugarcane mechanization, in which traffic space is separated from plant growing spaces, concentrating the tires path in delimited lines. this study aimed to evaluate the effect of traffic control in areas cultivated with sugarcane, regarding the soil physical quality, and the mechanical harvesting system with no straw burning (raw sugarcane). the project was developed in area cultivated with sugarcane including the following treatments: with traditional mechanized harvesting; with traffic control - augmented span; with traffic control - augmented span and automatic driving. the soil physical attributes evaluated were the density, the macro and microporosity in layers from 0.00-0.10, 0.10-0.20 and 0.20-0.30m deep, in the row in entrerrodado under the wheels of sugarcane culture , as well as the least limiting water range from 0.00 to 0.20m depth. the research was carried under a tri-factorial experimental design, with parcels subdivided into random block-type delineation. the minimum limiting water range verified that the management systems with traffic control had presented grater water availability to sugarcane crop.

Abstract This paper aims to revisit the discussion of “patina” as both physical and symbolic properties in material culture, thus used to categorize, classify, and legitimate status by means of consumer products. The interpretative method based on observation techniques was used to explore evidences of the inscription of connotative signs of time in those elements used to communicate and to present consumer goods. Results show how the “patina effect” occurs in the marketing of the product category studied. Keywords: Patina; consumption; brand; status; identity.

Abstract: objectives: the industrialization process and nervous system cancer (nsc) mortality in a urban region of brazil. method: from registries of the state system of data analysis foundation (seade), 103 males deaths by nsc (icd-9) in baixada santista (bs), from 1980 to 1993 were selected. mortality ratios were calculated comparing the standardized mortality rate for ages over 10 years old (g1) and for the age group from 35 to 64 years old, in the industrialized and non-industrialized areas in three periods: 1980-1993, 1980-86, 1987-93. results: a statiscally significant high mortality was observed in the industrialized area, for ages over 10 in all periods and only from 1980 to 1993 for ages from 34 to 64. the highest mortality ratio occurred from 1980-86 for ages over 10 - 4.12 (ci 1.79-9.42). conclusion: high mortality was probably related to the environmental and occupational exposure to many organic and inorganic chemical substances, considered carcinogenics, such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, organochlorinated, formaldehyde, nitrogenated compounds and heavy metals, found in the port and industrial complex. we discuss the importance of case-control studies in characterizing the association of these and other risk factors in the determination of nsc.
