Ioan MOISESCU,Adriana GIC
Management & Marketing , 2007,
Abstract: The competitive potential of any company is significantly influenced by the brands held in the company’s portfolio. Brands are definitely valuable marketing assets. As the brand is a central element of any marketing strategy it is essential to be aware of the descriptive dimensions of its equity. This paper tries to outline these dimensions as follows: brand loyalty, brand awareness, brand perceived quality, brand personality, brand image, brand identity and brand associations, as analyzed in the specialized literature. Identifying and comparing different approaches regarding each brand equity dimension and revealing interdependencies between these dimensions, focusing on the importance of scientifically determining their role in generating a long-term increase in marketing efforts efficiency, are among the main objectives of this paper.
Strongyloides stercoralis in an immunocompetent adult: An unexpected cause of weight lost  [PDF]
Lia Marques, André Rodrigues, Elisa Vedes, Dores Marques
Case Reports in Clinical Medicine (CRCM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/crcm.2013.27112
Abstract:

Strongyloides stercoralis infects at least 100 million humans worldwide each year, but its prevalence is underestimated. It is endemic in hot and humid climates as well as resource poor countries with inadequate sanitary conditions. The rise of international travel and immigration has a positive impact in strongyloidiasis. Due to its unique auto infection life-cycle, Strongyloides may lead to chronic infections remaining undetected for decades. Strongyloidiasis is most often asymptomatic but it has a wide range of clinical presentations. The two most severe forms of strongyloidiasis are hyperinfection and disseminated syndromes. These occur most often in patients with impaired cell mediated immunity. A 42-year-old immunocompetent man presented with chronic watery diarrhea, malaise, upper abdominal pain, anorexia and weight lost. Strongyloides stercoralis was identified in stool samples and duodenal biopsy. The patient was successfully treated with albendazole. The authors report a case of strongyloidiasis hyperinfection in an immunocompetent host 20 years away from an endemic area and make a literature review.

Rodrigues,Maria Cecília Marques;
Investiga??o Operacional , 2006,
Abstract: the objective is to research on the existence of a significant variation in the number of earthquakes in the iberian peninsula throughout the year. a simulation model for the process of seismic activity in the iberian peninsula was used to create a sample of seismic occurrences that would allow to research the existence of a significant variation in the number of earthquakes throughout the year. once this variation was detected the periods with greater number of seismic occurrences were identified based on a seismic catalogue. the existence of a significant variation in the number of seismic occurrences throughout the year was verified. this variation lessened as the seismic magnitude increased. therefore, february, march, april and june were months in which the highest number of light earthquakes were registered. earthquakes registering a moderate magnitude occurred mostly in february and october. no significant variation of seismic occurrences was detected throughout the year for earthquakes registering a strong magnitude.
Aten??o primária, aten??o básica e saúde da família: sinergias e singularidades do contexto brasileiro
Gil,lia Regina Rodrigues;
Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X2006000600006
Abstract: this article analyzes the concepts of primary health care, basic health care, and family health care as used in official documents by the brazilian ministry of health, final reports of the national conferences on health and human resources, the basic operational ruling on human resources, and texts accessed on-line by bireme. the data analysis, through double-entry matrices, showed a lack of these references in brazilian health policy formulation and implementation. basic operational ruling 96 (nob/96) plays a distinct role in this regard; the national conference reports show an important gap in this debate, and most of the published articles present the concepts of primary care and basic care with the meaning of health unit or local service. articles on the family health program refer to it more as a program than a strategy, and the articles analyzing such concepts show the influence of rationalities underlying the different strategies for organization of health services in the brazilian scenario, namely health surveillance and programmatic actions in health and in defense of life.

Gil,lia Regina Rodrigues;
Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X2005000200015
Abstract: this article presents a profile of former students in both a fellowship and a multidisciplinary residency in family health funded by the reforsus project of the brazilian ministry of health and inaugurated in 2001. the survey covered 16 fellowships (38.0%) and 9 residencies (69.0%), analyzing 873 questionnaires (709 and 164, respectively). students in both programs were predominantly females and nurses, having finished their undergraduate training within five years previously. in the fellowship, the majority of the students were professionals participating in the family health teams; one-third of the students had already finished other fellowships, unlike the students in the multidisciplinary residency. this type of study helped characterize the student body enrolled in lato sensu graduate training programs and to adjust the supply of such courses to the demand.

Cecília Eller Rodrigues Nascimento
Alfa : Revista de Linguística , 2008,
Abstract: O presente artigo investiga o papel do jogo no processo de aprendizagem de língua estrangeira, no tocante à relevancia e à autenticidade.
