Armazenamento refrigerado sob atmosfera modificada de pedúnculos de cajueiro-an o-precoce dos clones CCP-76, end-157, end-183 e end-189

Abstract: Pedúnculos de clones de cajueiro-an o-precoce, dos clones CCP-76, END-157, END-183 e END-189, foram armazenados durante 25 dias, sob refrigera o associada a atmosfera modificada, com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito das condi es atualmente utilizadas (5masculineC e 85-90% de UR) para conserva o, transporte e comercializa o de cajus in natura. Os pedúnculos foram avaliados a cada 5 dias quanto às seguintes características: perda de peso, firmeza, cor (antocianinas), sólidos e a úcares solúveis, acidez, pH, vitamina C e compostos fenólicos. O uso da refrigera o (5masculineC e 85% U.R), associada a atmosfera modificada, proporcionou uma vida útil pós-colheita de 10 dias para o clone END 189, de até 15 dias para o clone END 157 e de até 25 dias para os clones CCP 76 e END 183. A temperatura de 5masculineC n o se mostrou adequada para armazenamento de pedúnculos de colora o mais intensa (END 157 e END 189) que a testemunha (CCP 76), provocando perda de cor (antocianinas) a partir do 10masculine dia de armazenamento. A atmosfera modificada reduziu significativamente a perda de peso, favorecendo a aparência do produto para comercializa o, independentemente do clone estudado.

Abstract: the purpose of this work was to evaluate the quality of bacuri from different genotypes proceeding from the state of piauí, mid-northern region of brazil. mature fruits from 17 different genotypes were harvested directly from the ground, transported to embrapa mid-north, in teresina, piauí, brazil, and the following physical analyses were performed: total weight, length, diameter, pulp yield, and number of seeds. the pulp was extracted from each genotype and divided in three lots, where each lot represented a repetition, packed in plastic bags, homogenized, frozen at -20 °c and transported to the postharvest physiology and technology laboratory at embrapa tropical agroindustry, in fortaleza, ceará, brazil. the following physical-chemical analyses were performed: soluble solids, acidity, ph and tss/tta ratio. a completely randomized design was used, with the tukey test at a 5% level, once the significance was verified by the f test. the genotypes presented significant differences (p < 0.05) in all the analyses performed. for fresh consumption, matrixes m6, m14, m22 and m23 presented a good yield of pulp and values of tss and tss/tta ratio higher than the others matrixes. the highest industrial yields were observed for matrixes m5, m14, and m21, taking into account pulp percentage and tss, which were considered higher than the average in this study.

Abstract: This work aimed to evaluate the physical, physicochemical and chemical changes in fruits of clones of acerola coated with PVC film and conserved under refrigeration. The clones BRS 235 (Apodi), BRS 236 (Cereja), BRS 237 (Roxinha), BRS 238 (Frutacor), II 47/1 and BRS 152 (Sertaneja) had been harvested in the stage of commercial maturation. The fruits had been washed in chlorinated water, packed in expanded polystyrene trays, covered with film PVC and stored (10oC) during 12 days, with withdrawals of samples at the beginning of the experiment and to each three days. They had been evaluated: coloration, soluble solids, titratable acidity, soluble solids:titratable acidity relation, pH, soluble sugars, vitamin C, anthocyanins, weight lost, firmness and carotenoids. The experiment was carried through in experimental delineation completely randomized in factorial design (clones x time), with 3 repetitions (trays with 100g of fruits). Between the clones studied the II47/1 if it detached for the relative stability of the color, angle hue, and of anthocyanins, being more attractive for the consumer in the time of the purchase. However the clones Roxinha and Sertaneja had presented superior soluble solids:titratable acidity between the others in the end of the experiment, interesting characteristic for the flavor. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar as mudan as físicas, físico-químicas e químicas em frutos de clonesde aceroleira recobertos com filme de PVC e conservados sob refrigera o. Os clones 235 (Apodi), BRS 236 (Cereja), BRS 237 (Roxinha), BRS 238 (Frutacor), II 47/1 e BRS 152 (Sertaneja) foram colhidos no estádio de matura o comercial. Os frutos foram lavados em água clorada, embalados em bandejas de poliestireno expandido cobertos com filme PVC e armazenados (10oC) durante 12 dias, com retiradas de amostras no início do experimento e a cada três dias. Foram avaliados: colora o, sólidos solúveis totais, acidez titulável, rela o sólidos solúveis totais:acidez titulável, pH, a úcares solúveis totais, vitamina C, antocianinas, perda de massa, firmeza e carotenóides. O experimento foi realizado em delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial (clones x tempo), com 3 repeti es (bandejas com 100g de frutos). Dentre os clones estudados, o II47/1 se destacou pela relativa estabilidade da cor, angulo hue e teor de antocianinas, sendo mais atrativo para o consumidor na hora da compra. Abstract: the purpose of this work was to evaluate the effect of two types of cutting (trapeze and slices) on the physical and physical chemical characteristics of pineapple pérola minimally processed and refrigerated. the fruits in the appropriate stage of ripening were selected, washed, (200ppm of active chlorine/2 minutes) processed and stored at 4 ± 1oc. at four day intervals samples were collected and analysed, for ph, total soluble solids, titratable acidity, ascorbic acid, total reducing sugars, water activity, color and weight loss. at the end of the experiments it was concluded that for the minimum processing of pineapple the indicated cutting was the slices and the storage time eight days.

Abstract: in the last years, bacuri has stood out among native fruits with socioeconomic value for the great possibilities of utilization. bacuri is widely used by the amazon population and can to be found in supermarkets of several cities. the objective of this work was to evaluate the conservation potential of bacuri packed in pvc and stored under different refrigeration temperatures for a period of 36 days. there was a decrease in total soluble solids, titratable acidity and sugars and increase in ph during storage at all evaluated temperatures, while the chlorophyll content showed great variations over the period of storage.

Abstract: The effects of disposal of sludge from water treatment plant (WTS) in area damaged by laterite extraction and its consequences to soil and groundwater were investigated. Therefore, the presence and concentration of anthropogenic elements and chemical compounds were determinated. WTS disposal's influence was characterized by electroresistivity method. The WTS's geochemical dispersion was noticed in the first meters of the nonsaturated zone from the lending area. Lateritic profiles were characterized due to the large variation in chemical composition between the horizons. Infiltration and percolation of rainwater through the WTS have caused migration of total dissolved solids to the groundwater. WTS's disposing area has more similarities to local preserved vegetation than to gravel bed area. WTS can be considered a noninert residue if disposed in degraded areas located in regions with similar geological and hydrochemical characteristics. 1. Introduction The global scale environmental changes resulting from anthropic process of space occupation and urbanization impose fees which are incompatible with the carrying capacity of natural ecosystems. In this context, surface waters have been increasingly penalized with several launches of waste resulting from populational growth and disorderly occupation of protected areas. Thus, water quality worsens, and making it drinkable requires treatment with greater quantities of chemicals than usual to be applied. As a result, waste increases in water treatment plants (WTPs) such as the sludge generated in clarifiers and water resulting from the filter washing. In Brazil, there are about 7,500 WTPs, called conventional or traditional, which use coagulation/flocculation/sedimentation and filtration systems for water treatment. These systems generate wastes in the clarifiers and filters that, in most cases, are released directly into rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, aggravating the environmental issue [1–3]. The chemical sludge produced by the water treatment plants is an extremely gelatinous material composed by aluminum hydroxides, inorganic particles such as clay and silt, color colloids and microorganisms including plankton, and other organic and inorganic materials, which are removed from the treated water, or from the chemicals added to the process [4, 5]. Its pH range is from 5 to 7, which is insoluble in the range of natural water pH. Abstract: most of the research into minimally processed melon is focused on cantaloupe melon, due to its importance in the international market. the objective of this work was to evaluate the quality of cantaloupe melon cv. hy-mark, minimally processed and refrigerated. fruits were washed, sanitized, cut and imbedded in a calcium chloride solution and packed in pet and stored at 4oc during 9 days. at three-day intervals samples were collected and analyzed for total and fecal coliforms, counting of aerobic mesophilic bacterias, molds and yeast, ss (soluble solids), tta (total titrable acidity), firmness, ph, trs (total reducing sugar), aw, vitamin c, color and acceptability. the minimally processed melon showed good overall physical, pyisico-chemical, microbiological and sensorial stability during the storage period.

Abstract: this work aimed to evaluate the postharvest quality of fruits from different mangabeira clones (hancornia speciosa gomes) for industrialization and/or in natura consumption. fruits were analyzed from the following mangaba tree clones: ipojuca 3, 4 and 5 (ipj 3, 4 and 5); nizia floresta 1, 6 and 8 (nif 1, 6 and 8); parnamirim 11 (par 11); rio tinto (rit 7); extremoz 1 (ext 1) and touros 48 (tou 48), grown as part of the germoplasma bank at mangabeira experimental station of emepa - empresa estadual de pesquisa agropecuária da paraíba, located at jo?o pessoa-pb, brazil. mangabas, were manually packed into polystyrene lined plastic boxes and transported to the postharvest physiology and technology laboratory at embrapa agroindústria tropical, at fortaleza-ce. at embrapa, fruits were analysed for chemical and physical-chemical quality parameters. quality parameters analyzed were weight, length and diameter, texture, number of seeds, yield pulp and skin, ph, total titratable acidity (tta), total soluble solids (tss), tss/tta ratio, total vitamin c, total soluble sugars, reducing sugars, phenols as dimers, oligomers and polymers. statistical analysis of variance revealed significant differences for all characteristics through test f. fruits from all the clones showed superior quality when compared to standards designed by mapa on i.n. no 1 from 07/01/2000. greatest industrial yields were observed for clones ipj 3 and nif 6. clones rit 7 and tou 48 showed greater postharvest life suggesting potential for in natura consumption.

Abstract: mango is a very popular tropical fruit, consumed mainly in the fresh form, with great possibilities of industrialization. osmotic dehydration followed by air-drying has been presented as an important technological tool to the development of new products, making possible use the mango to obtain high-value products. the aim of this work was to evaluate the influence of the osmotic syrup concentration and system pressure on the osmotic dehydration of mango, as well as on the subsequent air-drying process. it was observed that the process was influenced by the variables studied, specially by the vacuum application, which reduced the total process time.

Abstract: the purpose of this work was to evaluate the effect of two types of cutting (manual and mechanic) on the physical-chemical and microbiological characteristics of processed and refrigerated 'cantaloupe' melon. the fruits in the appropriate stage of ripening were selected, washed, sanitized (200ppm of active chlorine/2 minutes) and processed in agreement with types of cutting. the fruits used for the mechanical cutting were cutting in peeling machine and after at retreat of the seeds, submitted to the cutting with aid of cutting machine. the fruits destined at manual cutting were peeled and cut with aid of knives, immerged in chlorinated water (20 mg.l-1 of active chlorine) for 30 seconds) and conditioned in pet flexible packing, stored at 4°c ± 1°c and were carried out each three days during 15 days. at the end of the experiments it was concluded that for the minimally processed of 'cantaloupe' melon, the manually cutting was the more indicated method, since it presented the best stability of characteristics concerning to color, firmness, ph, moisture and microbiological counting during storage.
