Construction and Validation of Self-Management Scale for Undergraduate Students  [PDF]

Abstract: This study developed a scale to assess undergraduate students’ self-management ability in daily life. Forty items about self-management on time, goal, emotions and personal relationships were generated for the draft scale. Content review panel deleted seven items. In Study 1, 522 Chinese undergraduate students took the test. Exploratory factor analysis and item analysis on the first half 261 cases deleted 6 items. Confirmatory factor analysis further revised the model and resulted in a two-factor Self-Management Scale, consisting of 21 items. Cross-validation on the second half 261 cases also verified the scale’s structural validity. In Study 2, responses from 374 undergraduate students were used to examine the reliability and criterion-related validity of the scale. The internal consistency reliability of the scale was 0.86. Relationship management showed good criterion-related validity, while the validity of performance management needs further examination.

Abstract: A dominating set $S$ in a graph $G$ is a tree dominating set of $G$ if the subgraph induced by $S$ is a tree. The tree domatic number of G is the maximum number of pairwise disjoint tree dominating sets in $V(G)$. First, some exact values of and sharp bounds for the tree domatic number are given. Then, we establish a sharp lower bound for the number of edges in a connected graph of given order and given tree domatic number, and we characterize the extremal graphs. Finally, we show that a tree domatic number of a planar graph is at most 4 and give a characterization of planar graphs with the tree domatic number 3.

Abstract: The title compound, C15H20O3, a sesquiterpene lactone, was isolated from the aerial parts of Carpesium minus Hemsl. (Compositae). The molecule is composed of three rings, with the two cyclohexane rings in chair conformations and the cyclopentane ring adopting a twist conformation. The A/B ring junction is trans-fused. The absolute configuration shown has been arbitrarily assigned. In the crystal, molecules are linked into [100] chains by O—H...O hydrogen bonds.
Tourism Lifecycle and Structure Changes of Qin’s Terra-cotta Museum for Last 25 years

Abstract: Taking tourism growth in a tourist area as a self-organized process, using the statistic data of Qin’s Terracotta Museum from 1980 to 2005, the dynamic and structure changes are analyzed about inbound tourists, domestic tourists, tourist-resource, average consumption. The relation between tourism growth and structural change is discussed from a new angle. The results are as follows: the inbound tourists is scallop-type growing, domestic fluctuate following “main cycle and recycle” style, inbound tourists and tourist consumption get higher and higher gradually, which enable tourism income cast off the impact of tourist lifecycle and further increase. The experience of Qin’s Terra-cotta Museum tourism development provides some reference for Chinese international brand tourism product exploitation from external expansion depending on tourist’s growth to intensive development on structure.
Tracking Formant Trajectory of Tracheoesophageal Speech Using Hidden Dynamic Model

Abstract: In this study, a method of tracking the formant trajectory of Tracheoesophageal (TE) speech using the Hidden Dynamic Model (HDM) with dynamic target orientation was put forward based on the characteristics of TE speech. At first, a PIF-LPC algorithm was used to extract the formant parameters of TE speech. The parameters as a weighted dynamic component were then introduced in HDM; afterwards, HDM was solved using the particle filtering algorithm based on the prior distribution of this parameter to track formant trajectory. It was shown in simulation tests that the method was of high precision and good robustness owing to the orientation effect of dynamic targets. With this method, not only the interferences of spurious peaks and merged peaks in TE speech were overcome, but also continuous TE speech signals were tracked.
Effect of Seabed Topography Change on Sound Ray Propagation—A Simulation Study  [PDF]

Abstract: Variation of ocean environmental parameters is important to sound ray propagation. This article studies the problem of sound ray propagation in seawater by BELLHOP ray model. The sensitivities of sound ray propagation to the variations of seabed topography and depth of sound source by simulation. The results show that the depth variation of sound source is the main cause for emerging and disappearing of surface sound channel, accumulation area and deep sound channel. The deviation of sound ray propagation is in accordance with seabed topography change.
Carbonization of Chlorinated Organic Residual Liquid for Energy Source Generation  [PDF]

Abstract: Chlorinated organic residual liquid is produced from the distillation process of new refrigerants production. It is difficult to be treated by traditional water treatment process and incineration process. In this study, a carbonization process at atmospheric pressure was used to convert this residual liquid to carbonaceous product and organic gas in 2 h at 230℃ or 260℃. The carbonaceous product was characterized by scanning electron microscope, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer and thermo gravimetric analysis. The element composition and the high heat value of these products were similar to anthracite and lignite, respectively, showing that they could be used as alternative fuels. The components of organic gas were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and the gas had potential for incineration.

Abstract: Nonylphenol polyethoxylates (NPEOs) are widely used as nonionic surfactants in many industry fields. High concentration NPEOs waste water is produced in some production processes. It is often treated to realize reduction by distillation. Therefore, NPEOs waste liquid with higher concentration is produced and it is difficult to be treated by traditional water treatment process. In this study, hydrothermal carbonization process was used to convert NPEOs waste liquid to carbonaceous product (hydrochar) with sulfuric acid as additive in 24 h at 200°C. The hydrochar was characterized by scanning electron microscope, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer and thermogravimetric analysis. The element composition and the high heat value of the hydrochar were similar to lignite, showing that it could be used as an alternative fuel.
