Acta Amazonica , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0044-59672005000200017
Abstract: the parameters of the simplified simple biosphere model - ssib were validated and subsequently calibrated for the fazenda nossa senhora aparecida (62o22'w; 10o45's) pasture site and the reserva biológica do jaru (62o22'w; 10o45's) forest site, both located in the state of rond?nia. micrometeorological and hydrological data collected during the dry period of 2001, as part of the large-scale biosphere-atmosphere experiment in amazonia - lba, were used. the results showed that the model simulated well the net radiation, both at the pasture and at the forest. the latent heat flux was super-estimated in both sites. the model sub-estimated the sensible heat flux at the pasture and at the forest, mainly during the night period; notwithstanding, the values for the forest were nearer to the observed ones. with the calibrated parameters, the model generated better estimations of the latent and the sensible heat fluxes, thus better representing the energy partition both at the forest and at the pasture.

Ambiente e água : An Interdisciplinary Journal of Applied Science , 2012,
Abstract: The accumulation and decomposition of organic matter in water bodies can increase the potential emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. In this study, in a prospective and exploratory way, we evaluated the relationship between physicochemical characteristics of water on the transport of methane to the atmosphere at Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, RJ. In 2011, campaigns were carried out in which 200 samples were collected for analysis of superficial methane emission and 30 water samples were collected to verify the dissolution of this gas in the water column, measuring simultaneously both the physicochemical water parameters along this column. The methane flow measurements showed that this lagoon is a source methane emission to the atmosphere with an average flux of 33 ± 10 mgCH4m-2d-1. The evaluation of limnological parameters that could affect the emission flux revealed that the water depth and temperature were the most influential factors in this process. A profile analysis of methane in the water column suggests the existence of a higher concentration of this gas in the region of the sedimentary strata at the bottom of the lagoon. However, the potential emission may not reach the surface, possibly due to the decrease in the rate of vertical diffusion of methane, as a result of the increase of pressure with depth and the presence of methanotrophic bacterias that consume methane throughout the water column.
Prehistoric Maritime Domain and Brazilian Shellmounds  [PDF]

Archaeological Discovery (AD) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ad.2014.21001
Abstract: For at least six thousand years, the Brazilian coast has been explored extensively by different fishing communities. This article deals with the fishing-gatherer societies as coastal communities proposing an interface between shell sites archaeology and maritime anthropology.
Regulamenta??o linguística em e-mails institucionais: conflito entre professores universitários no ambiente institucional
Silva, Wagner Rodrigues;
Linguagem em (Dis)curso , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-76322012000100002
Abstract: we investigate metalinguistic reflexions carried out by university professors when they focus on order notions or linguistic regulations in the virtual interaction environment, in a public university. in a sociopragmatic approach, the virtual environment is characterized as a texture of social voices which signal the participants' position in the institutional space they are inserted. analyzed data show public servants appropriating of technological artifacts to interact in a new space: the virtual professional environment. the exchange of electronic messages seems to be influenced by other interactions mediated by digital artifacts characteristic of non professional virtual environment. in this new environment such interactions seem to substitute the solid professional relationships characteristic of face-to-face interactions, minimizing the fear of focusing polemic issues towards conventional interlocutions such as the professional competence of peers oriented by the formal writing linguistic conventions, in electronic messages, exchanged in virtual institutional environment.
Constru??o da interdisciplinaridade no espa?o complexo de ensino e pesquisa
Silva, Wagner Rodrigues;
Cadernos de Pesquisa , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-15742011000200013
Abstract: in this paper, we investigate the construction of interdisciplinary practices of education and research based on the dialogue between primary schools and universities. we present some human and non-human agents responsible for the interaction established on school grounds, taken as a complex research field. the results show that the constitutive complexity assumption can be of help in understanding the functioning of teaching situations, avoiding simplified and precipitated diagnosis, which makes it difficult to solve the real problems in the teachers' preparation contexts.
A constitui??o de um gênero textual escolar no exercício de escrita coletiva
Silva, Wagner Rodrigues;
DELTA: Documenta??o de Estudos em Lingüística Teórica e Aplicada , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-44502008000100004
Abstract: in this paper i analyze some moments of collective writing production during a school process which resulted in a production of a school journal characterized as a hybrid textual genre. in other words, i investigate the mixing of genres from school and non-school domains set up in the writing production process in the classroom environment focused here. this characterization is justified by the remissions to the other textual genres that are familiar to the actors of the process reconstructed here. they form some literacy events from students' everyday life on different social domains. in educational planning terms, the analysis of data shows that the remissions are quite unpredictable and they are caused by the actions of innumerable actors from the complex space of the classroom environment. these remissions trigger new use and reflection practices about writing and also innovations on mother language teaching.
Subvers?o da exclus?o escolar via media??o em atividade de produ??o textual
Silva, Wagner Rodrigues;
Revista Brasileira de Educa??o , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-24782006000300008
Abstract: the article analyses the work of mediation carried out by the researcher during an activity of rewriting a news item by a student of a 6th grade project, labelled as a failure according to the fatalistic vision of the school community. thus, it investigates the possible implications of the assumption of the notion of the discursive genre as a semiotic instrument of mediation for the learning and development process. the theoretical framework for the investigation derives from two fields of knowledge: educational psychology and language studies. the results of the research reflect the possibilities of subverting school exclusion through the mediation of activities of textual production.
Escrita do gênero relatório de estágio supervisionado na forma??o inicial do professor brasileiro
Silva, Wagner Rodrigues;
Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-63982012005000016
Abstract: in this paper, the writing produced by pre-service teachers in geography, history and mathematics undergraduation courses is presented as object of research in the applied linguistics (al). the description of the genre supervised internship report, produced by the pre-service teachers mentioned, is the main aim of this research. the methodology of scientific research is informed by the transdisciplinary approach of al. some studies developed in the fields of systemic functional linguistics (sfl) and teacher literacy are the main references used in this investigation. the research results show a non-systematized pedagogical work with the writing of reports in the courses studied, what may result in restrictions to the empowerment of the critical literacy idealized for the future teacher in his/her workplace. some theoretical and methodological contributions are pointed out, more directly, for the studies of genres developed in the sfl.
Sele??o textual no ensino interdisciplinar por projeto
Silva, Wagner Rodrigues;
Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-63982009000100002
Abstract: we show an ethnographic research about the contributions of discursive genre choices and uses, in school activities, to the student literacy development. the results show that some chosen genres are school-related and do not contribute effectively to interactive activities mediated by writing in situations not connected to educational practices. the articulation between interdisciplinary and literacy approaches, developed in the education science and in language applied studies, respectively, can contribute significantly to the student empowerment. here the interdisciplinary educational projects are characterized as linguistic-discursive locus of contribution to the empowerment mentioned.
Subvertendo a exclus?o escolar: a media??o didática dos gêneros discursivos no ensino da escrita
Silva,Wagner Rodrigues;
Revista Portuguesa de Educa??o , 2005,
Abstract: conceived as a teaching object in the textual production activity, the discursive genre is analyzed as mediation instrument for the student?s learning and development. in this perspective, the need for textual production for specific purposes confers a differential function to writing in the school, which results in the modeling of literacy practices for further writing uses in determined social situations. in the genre?s modeling scope, the teacher?s mediated rewriting activity is also characterized as a mechanism to prevent the exclusion of the student promoted by the school.
