CNPA ITA 90 constituiu o objetivo do presente trabalho.

Abstract: considering the climatic aptitude the fruit plants are classified in: tropical, subtropical and temperate. this traditional classification was very effective during a long period of time. based on more update knowledge of the origin centers of the different species, the technological advances in the fruit crops and, in the fruit conservation and specially the genetic breeding created exceptional for the cropping of tropical species and temperate in subtropical climate. in this research were select the atemoya, persimmon, fig tree and guava crop based not only in the national and regional importance but also in the different contributions that the scientific research offered to the fruit plants. atemoya - within the fruit species exploited in a large scale may be the more recent introduction in cropping in brazil, initiated in the 1980 decade. several techniques of cropping were developed such as root stocks more adequate for each region, pruning, artificial pollination, pest management and disease control and several others technologies that permitted a fast expansion of the fruit crops in several country regions. although the remarkable contribution of the universities, research institutes and extension agencies, was fundamental the pioneer contribution of the producers to solve the problems of the crops indicating the necessity for more research in this crop fruit. persimmon - the brazilian production of persimmon (ibge - 2009) was 171,555 tons was obtained in a area of 8,770 ha and represented a value of 146,67 real millions. the major production states in brazil were s?o paulo (111,646 tons) rio grande do sul, paraná and rio de janeiro. the main cultivars in production are: 'rama forte', 'giombo' and 'fuyu' which are found in the internal market. fig tree - the brazilian production of fig at 2009 according to ibge - ibraf were 24,146 tons being the major production states in brazil the rio grande do sul and s?o paulo. at s?o paulo the fig production is concentra

Abstract: a series of 103 cases of complex femoral fracture were treated with fmrp (faculdade de medicina de ribeir?o preto) nail. these fractures were treated from may 1987 until december 1995. from the 103 fractures, 67 were cominutive, 12 bifocal (segmental), 4 spiral, 13 proximal e 21 distal and unstable rotationaly. from the total of cases, 97 were statically locked and 6 dynamic. from these 97, only 7 were dynamised during evolution. clinical and radiographic union had occurred in 97.09 per cent of cases with average of 16.72 weeks. in 3 cases the union did not occur with interlocking nail. there were 4 cases with suspected and 3 with established infection that were healed by the time of evolution. there were 81 cases of shortening that varied from 0.5 centimeter to 4 centimeters with an average of 1.0 centimeter. the shortening of less than and equal 2 centimeters occurred in 73 cases. the alignment distortion in any plane up from 10 degrees and equal to 15 degrees was observed in 8 patients. there were 10 cases of rotational deformities, but no case above 10 degrees. the infection incidence was low; and, the union incidence was high. the fracture stabilization had immediately allowed patient's mobilization, early rehabilitation and decreasing hospital stay, except in politrauma cases. the fmrp nail had allowed treating these kind of fractures without using any image intensifier or flexible reamers. hence this method had turned the cost of treatment down. the outcomes were matching to those reported with intramedullary interlocking nailing which needs technical equipment more sophisticated.
Pereira, Fernando Mendes;Mayer, Newton Alex;
Ciência Rural , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-84782008000600009
Abstract: the jaboticabal micro-region, located in s?o paulo state, brazil, considered unsuitable for peach tree culture, presents important comparative advantages in relation to other traditional regions producing peach in brazil, as the reduced frost incidence, low air relative humidity and hidric deficit between april and september, beyond precocious production possibility (august to october), which has remunerated satisfactorily the fruit growers. however, the research results are consistent only to 'aurora-1' peach. aiming to consolidate this micro-region as a new peach production pole of high quality, the present research was conducted in vista alegre do alto, s?o paulo state, and had the objective to study the fruiting, physical fruit characteristics and productivity of 'aurora-1' and 'régis' cultivar, and 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections. with the evaluations carried through in 2nd and 3rd years after transplant (2005 and 2006 harvests), it was possible to conclude that: a) the fruiting of 'régis' and 'aurora-1' cultivars and 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections is satisfactory in normal climatic conditions in vista alegre do alto, s?o paulo state, brazil; b) 'régis' peach tree presents production and productivity equivalent to 'aurora-1', becoming an option for ultraprecocious production of double purpose fruits, despite its fruits being smaller and lighter than 'aurora-1' peach, 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections; c) 'jab 484' and 'jab 694' peach selections present potential in vista alegre do alto, s?o paulo state, presenting fruits with double purpose characteristics, being heavier than 'aurora-1' peach, being able to reach production and productivity equivalent to this cultivar.
Mayer, Newton Alex;Pereira, Fernando Mendes;
Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X2006000500024
Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the vigour of three mume's clones (prunus mume sieb. et zucc.) and 'okinawa' peach tree [prunus persica (l.) batsch], propagated by herbaceous cuttings, at field conditions. the experimental design was in randomized blocks, using four treatments (genotypes) and five repetitions, with 0.5 m among plants. 'okinawa' peach presented larger trunck diameter, in relation to mume's clones. in the adjacent analysis of the variables, mume's clone 10 reveals least vigorous, indicating the possibility of success as dwarf rootstock for peach tree.
Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X1999001100006
Abstract: with the objective of evaluating the effect of different doses of mepiquat chloride (0, 50, 75, 100 and 125 g/ha), and thidiazuron (0, 45, 60 and 75 g/ha) on the physiological characteristics of cotton seed, an experiment was carried out at unesp, jaboticabal, s?o paulo state, brazil. the experimental design was a completely randomized block design and the treatments were arranged in a 5x4 factorial replicated four times. the results showed that in increasing mepiquat chloride doses resulted in higher 100 seed weight and faster emergence indices. as for seedling dry matter, mepiquat chloride and thidiazuron showed antagonic effects. the germination percentage and the hypocotil length were not affected significantly by either chemical, alone or in combination.

Athayde, Manoel Luiz Ferreira;Lamas, Fernando Mendes;
Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X1999000300007
Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of split dosis of mepiquat chloride on the cotton cultivar iac 22 at jaboticabal, sp. the experimental design was in completely randomized blocks constituted by 13 treatments, and four replicates. the effect of dosis on plant height was more pronounced than the splitting effect. the smallest dosis used (55 g/ha) was enough to declare plant height to less than 1.30 m, at harvest. the effect of mepiquat chloride reduced branch length and provided better reproductive/vegetative relation. the effects on boll weight, 100 seed weight, percentage of fiber and seed yield were not significant.

Pires, Fernando Roberto Mendes;Cabral, Alexandre Rafael;
Rem: Revista Escola de Minas , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0370-44672001000300007
Abstract: in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of derby's birthday a brief review of his work has been presented. from 173 scientific works, derby published 7 papers on the manganese deposits in the period 1898-1908. in two of these papers, derby defined the manganese protore "queluzite", consisting of spessartite garnet, amphibole and rhodochrosite and tephroite, later recognized by hussak. in this work we tried to compare the derby's descriptions with our thermodynamic studies applied to the equilibrium conditions, controlled by the chemicals potentials of sio2 and co2 in the protore.
