Abstract: introduction: this study analyzed the profile of nonimputable inmates at instituto psiquiátrico forense maurício cardoso. methods: between april and august 2005, a total of 617 patients were selected for inclusion in the study. results: data analysis revealed that the inmates presented the following characteristics: mean age of 43.22 years, male (91.3%), defined profession (73.2%), completed elementary school (74.6%); without a partner (83.2%), crime against a person was the felony that generated nonimputability (62.1%), criminal records (58.3%), minimal sentence time was 1.76 years, serving it in criminal commitment (91.4%), mean time in prison of 9.33 years, under regime of progressive release (81.5%), previous hospitalization in other psychiatric institutions (55.2%), no previous probation measure (83.3%), diagnosis of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders (61.4%). the following variables were statistically significant: among inmates with previous hospitalization, 61.9% had criminal history; and the higher the inmates' schooling level, the lower the level of criminal relapse. results showed a predominance of inmates with criminal records in patients with disorders related to substances (56.5%) and personality disorder (59.7%). it was also verified that 60.8% of those who committed crimes against a person were alcohol addicts, establishing a relation between violent criminality and disorders caused by substance misuse. conclusions: based on the analysis of the medical records of 617 inmates at instituto psiquiátrico forense maurício cardoso, this study aimed at presenting a map of individuals considered nonimputable in rio grande do sul.

Abstract: the aim of this study is describe the general hospital psychiatric unit functioning regarding their empirical and practical aspects. getting together to care many inpatients with several mental disorders can be a hard task. the pharmacology is empirical and palliative despite great efforts and development neuroscientific in last years. try to discuss the conducts and management of the care with this inpatients can brig the light to the know how to proceed with them, mainly for who is beginning the psychiatric practice like students and residents.

Abstract: objective: to determine the profile of psychiatric teaching in brazilian medical schools, with a focus on the number of professors involved and their respective degrees, the number of disciplines devoted to psychiatry and the predominant approach (psychodynamic/clinical/other) adopted, the didactic materials employed and the teaching and learning facilities available. methods: the study was based on the collection of data via application of questionnaires at all medical schools registered with the brazilian association of medical education (associa??o brasileira de educa??o médica). results: of the 119 brazilian schools contacted, 85 (71%) returned the questionnaires. the number of professors graduated in psychiatry at each school varied from 1 to 5 (75.3%); of these, 1 to 2 (43.4%) had a phd degree, 1 to 2 (45.8%) a master's degree, and 1 to 2 (57.3%) were specialists. the findings revealed that 41.2% of the schools offered two disciplines of psychiatry, with a predominantly psychodynamic/clinical approach (61.2%). at 52.9% of the schools, teaching of psychiatric topics was not restricted to the specific disciplines; 64.7% of the disciplines offered hands-on training in general clinical settings. mean number of credit hours of psychiatric teaching along the medical program was 61-90 (26.2%), and 88.9% of the programs used books as the main choice for didactic purposes. at 83.3% of the medical schools, psychiatric teaching is graded by students at the end of each discipline. conclusion: the present findings revealed an important heterogeneity in the geographic regions assessed, affecting at least 71% of the schools. new studies are warranted to advance the preliminary findings herein reported.
(N+1)-dimensional Lorentzian evolving wormholes supported by polytropic matter
Mauricio Cataldo,Sebastian Bahamonde,Fernanda Arostica
Physics , 2013, DOI: 10.1140/epjc/s10052-013-2517-4
Abstract: In this paper we study $(N+1)$-dimensional evolving wormholes supported by energy satisfying a polytropic equation of state. The considered evolving wormhole models are described by a constant redshift function and generalizes the standard flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime. The polytropic equation of state allows us to consider in $(3+1)$-dimensions generalizations of the phantom energy and the generalized Chaplygin gas sources.
Friedmann-Robertson-Walker like cosmologies with spherical symmetry
Mauricio Cataldo,Fernanda Arostica,Sebastian Bahamonde
Physics , 2013, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.88.047502
Abstract: We reconsider the cosmological model discussed by Sung-Won Kim [Phys. Rev D 53, 6889 (1996)] in the context of Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmologies with a traversable wormhole, where it is assumed that the matter content is divided into two parts: the cosmic part that depends on time only and the wormhole part that depends on space only. The cosmic part obeys the barotropic equation of state $p_c=\gamma \rho_c$. The complete analysis requires further care and reveals more interesting results than what was previously shown by the author. They can be readily applied to the evolution of a large class of cosmological models which are more general than FRW models.
Consciência metalinguística e a representa??o da nasaliza??o na escrita do Português Brasileiro
Ferreira, Fernanda;Correa, Jane;
Revista CEFAC , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-18462010000100006
Abstract: purpose: to analyze children's representation of nasalization in spelling and the effect of their metalinguistic skills on such representation. methods: 2nd-5th graders were given tasks in order to evaluate phonological skills (alliteration, phoneme deletion and spoonerism), morphological awareness and their spelling, in particular, their understanding of the different ways regarding nasal sounds' representation and their usage contexts. results: it was relatively easy for children to represent nasal cluster (vowel + n) and the nasal diphthong (?o) in nouns. however, they found it difficult to deal with contextual and morphological rules in order to represent nasal segments. significance and positive correlations were observed between both phonological and morphological awareness and the spelling of nasal sounds. however, after controlling the schooling, only phonological tasks (deletion and spoonerism) had a significant contribution for nasalization representation. conclusion: children do not usually have a uniform manner to represent nasal sounds. they understand that nasalization has different ways to be represented and usage contexts, although they are not able to use all of them appropriately. differently from phonological skills, morphological awareness did not show an independent contribution to the representation of nasalization after controlling the schooling.
Discursos sobre a leitura na contemporaneidade: entre o texto-papel e o texto-tela
Galli, Fernanda Correa Silveira;
Trabalhos em Linguística Aplicada , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-18132012000100009
Abstract: anchored in the theoretical perspective of discourse analysis at the interface with the philosophy and social sciences, my purpose in this paper is to focus on discourses about reading on the internet. the corpus is composed of excerpts of stories written by students of three undergraduate courses (biological sciences, mathematics, education), which emphasize the production of discourses about reading the text-paper to text-screen as well as the relation of subject-student-reader with the "new" digital technologies in contemporary globalized world.
