Abstract: In this article the kantian Rechtslehre is interpreted as a critical juridical doctrine, understandable under the critical project – started in Kritik der reinen Vernunft and adapted to the practical field in Kritik der praktischen Vernunft. In particular, it is aimed to highlight, besides the apriority, the systematic character and the search for the completeness of the juridical principles, the use of the solubility of problems theory of the reasoning in general in the prolegomenon of Rechtslehre. The study of this preliminary part is justified in presenting the supreme division of the system according to principals, where it is derived a division of the law doctrine, which determines the object (Gegenstand) and, therefore, the field of this particular science and the discussion of the research procedure. Such a priori frame of the Law doctrine is the basis of the following Kantian theory of private law and public law. In a bigger picture, this article can be understood as a renouncement to the idea that the Kantian Rechtslehre does not follow the requirements of the critical philosophy – created by Hermann Cohen (Ethik des reinen Willens, 1904) and detailed by Christian Ritter (Der Rechtsgedanke Kants nach den frühen Quellen, 1971).

Abstract: The existence of the categorical procedure on private law in Metaphysische Anfangsgründe der Rechtslehre, albeit small, is unquestionable, as well as its importance for the construction of the possession theory. An additional proof to the fragments of the first part of the natural right (cf. MS R, AB 59, 79, 82, 90, 93, 119-121) are the categorical outlines included in Rechtslehre manuscripts (particularly, in Vorarbeiten zum Privatrecht and in Zusammenh ngender, signierter Entwurf in Kant's handschriflicher Nachla ). The objectives of this paper are: 1) to show the internal coherence among the private law categorical outlines in Vorarbeiten zur Rechtslehre, and 2) to present the relation between these outlines and the legal text of 1797. The parameter of evaluation and comparison will be the Kantian observations concerning the categories in Kritik der reinen Vernunft and Kritik der praktischen Vernunft works.

Abstract: mikania lindleyana dc., asteraceae (sucuriju), grows in the amazon region, where is frequently used to treat pain, inflammatory diseases and scarring. this study was carried out to investigate phytochemical profile accompanied by in vivo antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory screening of n-hexane (he), dichloromethane (dme) and methanol (me) extracts obtained from the aerial parts of the plant. the oral administration of me (0.1, 0.3, 1 g/kg) caused a dose-related reduction (16.2, 42.1 e 70.2%) of acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing while he and dme (1 g/kg, p.o.) were ineffective. in the hot plate test, me (300 mg/kg, p.o.) increased the latency of heat stimulus between 30 and 120 min and inhibited the first (45%) and second (60%) phases of nociception in the formalin test. the antinociception induced by me or positive control fentanyl (150 μg/kg, s.c.) in hot plate and formalin tests was prevented by naloxone (3 mg/kg, s.c.). when submitted to the carrageenan-induced peritonitis test, me (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 g/kg, p.o.) impaired leukocyte migration into the peritoneal cavity by 46.8, 59.4 and 64.8% respectively, while positive control dexamethasone (2 mg/kg, s.c.), inhibited leukocyte migration by 71.1%. these results indicate that the antinociception obtained after oral administration of methanol extract of m. lindleyana involves anti-inflammatory mechanisms accompanied with opioid-like activity which could explain the use of the specie for pain and inflammatory diseases.

Abstract: croton pullei var. glabrior lanj. (euphorbiaceae) is a liana, vastly distributed in the amazonian forest. in the folk medicine, several plants of the croton genus have been used with therapeutic purposes in pathologies that involve painful and inflammatory diseases which justify this work. the aim of this study was to investigate the antinociceptive and antiinflammatory activities of the c. pullei leaves methanol extract (mecp). mecp reduced in a dose-dependent manner the number of acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing (1.2%) in mice, suggesting an antinociceptive activity of the plant. on the other hand, mecp did not significantly modify the reactivity to the thermal stimulation in the hot-plate test and the reactivity to the chemical stimulation in the formalin test first phase, indicating a non-opioid mechanism. mecp reduced the formalin-induced nociception in the second phase, inhibited the croton oil-induced ear edema and reduced the leukocytes migration in the test of the carrageenan-induced peritonitis, indicating an antiinflammatory activity. although the mechanisms that underlie these plant effects are not completely elucidated, these results appear to support the potential medicinal use of croton pullei var. glabrior lanj. against painful and inflammatory diseases.

Abstract: c. miller fisher described separately two pontine syndromes, that he called "the one-and-a-half syndrome" and "ataxic hemiparesis". the authors report the case of a woman who developed simultaneously the two syndromes, caused by a stroke of pontine localization, and comment about the structures involved by the lesion.
Bases neurofisiológicas da dependência do tabaco

Abstract: it is generally accepted that nicotine is the major component in tobacco smoke responsible for addiction. several studies have demonstrated that the neural mechanisms underlying nicotine addiction have much in common with those underlying the mechanisms of addiction to other drugs. thus, it has been shown that nicotine induces conditioning place preference and self-administration across many species. repeated treatment with nicotine also induces behavioral sensitization in rodents. these behavioral effects of nicotine seem to mediate through the meso limbic dopamine system. smoke cessation results in an abstinence syndrome that seems to be mediated by both peripheral and central nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. in addition, other neurotransmitters systems are involved in the mediation of nicotine addiction and withdrawal. the review of the literature evidences the complexity of the behavioral, neurochemical and molecular effects of nicotine. the integration of nicotine studies across all levels will lead to a better understanding of the neurobiological mechanisms underlying the addictive actions of nicotine. the understanding of such mechanisms is crucial to the development of pharmacological agents for the treatment of tobacco addiction and withdrawal.

Abstract: Canine mammary tumors (CMT) are very common in female dogs, representing approximately 50% of all tumors in this species, but are highly uncommon in male dogs and are primarily related to hyperestrogenism. There is considerable scientific interest in the possible role of environmental contaminants in the etiology of mammary tumors, specifically in relation to synthetic chemical substances released into the environment to which living beings are either directly or indirectly exposed. In this study, the presence of pyrethroid insecticide was observed in adipose tissue adjacent to canine mammary tumors. High Precision Liquid Chromatography—HPLC was adapted to detect and identify environmental contaminants in adipose tissue adjacent to malignant mammary tumor in one male dog, Akita, 12 years old. After surgery, the mass was carefully examined for malignant neoplastic lesions. Five grams of adipose tissue adjacent to the tumor was collected to detect environmental contaminants. The pyrethroid was identified as tetramethrin, at 0.20 μg/g. This is the first report in which the environmental contaminant level was detectable in adipose tissue of this male dog with a malignant mammary tumor, by HPLC. Results suggest the possible involvement of pyrethroid in the canine mammary tumor carcinogenesis since this animal did not present any other tumor that could cause hyperestrogenism.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to determine the minimum representative area to evaluate testicular echotexture parenchyma and to identify the correlations between the intensity of pixels of the testicular parenchyma and the fibrosis score with the physical and morphological characteristics of the ejaculate of Texel rams. The study used 88 Texel rams, aged between 10 and 12 months, and reared in a semi-extensive system. The animals underwent breeding soundness evaluation (BSE) and ultrasound of the testicles. The images were transferred to a computer where they were defined in areas of 400, 1600, 3600, and 6400 mm2, after which the average intensity of the pixels of each image of the testicular regions was evaluated. A testicular fibrosis score was assigned in order to quantify the frequency of fibrotic lesions. In relation to the intensity of pixels of the predetermined regions, only the area of 400 mm2 presented a difference (P < 0.05), with the area of 1600 mm2 being the smallest area that best represented the testicular parenchyma. There were no correlations between the intensity of pixels of the testicular parenchyma and the fibrosis score with the physical and morphological characteristics of the ejaculate of the rams.
