Abstract: This article aims at discussing the institutionalization of Primary Education in Sergipe demonstrating the interdependence of foreign and Brazilian laws, which were published in the newspaper Jornal do Aracaju (1872). The evidences for it can be found through ads, educational legislation, and the Provincial Assembly speeches on Primary Education in the 19th century, in Sergipe. The sources mentioned establish an interdependent relationship among state, family and government agents, mediated by laws and the press, having been analyzed under the historiographical matrix of Cultural History. The research demonstrates the fertility of the debates in the Imperial period and the plurality of educational practices and aspects that produced a school form that was implemented throughout the 19th century.

éverton Gonalves de ávila, Simone Silveira Amorim, Vera Maria dos Santos, Andrea Karla Ferreira Nunes, Anselmo Lima de Oliveira, Alfrancio Ferreira Dias
Creative Education (CE) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2017.87075
Abstract: This paper investigates the transformations that contemporary education is suffering under the new requirements arisen from the information era regarding the representation of time and the production of information and knowledge. Through a bibliographical study, this paper moves the discussion between the dematerialization of space, the acceleration of time and the strangeness of multicultural knowledge where universal concepts and instant question in a relentless need to innovate and reform the foundations of science, education, arts and culture are noticed. Based on the reflections of Pierre Levy, Michel Foucault, David Harvey, Paul Virilio and ágnes Heller it mentions uncertainties that denounce the apparent inefficiency of institutions that seek immediate solutions in Education in order to reduce the inability to keep up with the dynamic contemporary requirements.

Ferreira, Paula;Soares, Geraldo Luiz Gonalves;D'ávila, Sthefane;Bessa, Elisabeth Cristina de Almeida;
Brazilian Archives of Biology and Technology , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-89132009000400018
Abstract: subulina octona is a terrestrial snail which serves as an intermediate host for the parasites. it is also an agricultural pest. the aim of this work was to assess, during 120 days, the effects of caffeine and thymol at 2.5 g/l and 5 g/l on the hatchability, survival after hatching, growth and reproduction of s. octona under the laboratory conditions. a total of 240 eggs, 240 juveniles aged 10-day-old, and 240 aged 30-day-old were tested. the results showed that thymol (at 2.5 g/l and 5 g/l) and caffeine (at 5 g/l) acted as ovicides. in the 10-day-old juveniles, caffeine at 5 g/l caused 25% mortality and at 2.5 g/l it caused 30% mortality. thymol at 2.5 and 5 g/l caused 20 and 22.5% mortality, respectively. in the 30-day-old juveniles, caffeine at 5 g/l caused 47.5% mortality.
Armazenamento de conhecimento explícito referente ao DFA (Design for Assembly) utilizando regras baseadas em casos
Savi, Antonio Francisco;Gonalves Filho, Eduardo Vila;Savi, Erika Monteiro de Souza e;
Produ??o , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65132010005000002
Abstract: an important source of competitive advantages for many organizations worldwide is the capacity to create designs for less complicated products, consisting of a small number easily assembled parts which, nonetheless, satisfy consumers' expectations, known as the design for assembly (dfa) approach. there is an obstacle in cataloguing these approaches, specifically, a lack of storage guidelines; consequently, the retrieval of this explicit knowledge is ineffective. the aim of this study is to identify storage guidelines for dfa information based on previous cases (cbr - case-based reasoning), qualitative in kind and with a descriptive-exploratory purpose. it is noted that cbr highlights the possibility of explicit knowledge stored in an orderly manner, resulting in more efficient retrieval and a decrease in the amount of irrelevant information.

Vila, Marta Maria Duarte Carvalho;Oliveira, Robson Machado de;Gonalves, Marcos Moisés;Tubino, Matthieu;
Química Nova , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-40422007000200029
Abstract: vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic employed in the treatment of infections caused by certain methicillin-resistant staphylococci. it is indicated also for patients allergic to penicillin or when there is no response to penicillins or cephalosporins. the adequate vancomycin concentration levels in blood serum lies between 5 and 10 mg/l. higher values are toxic, causing mainly nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity. various analytical methods are described in the literature: spectrophotometric, immunologic, biologic and chromatographic methods. this paper reviews the main analytical methods for vancomycin determination in biological fluids and in pharmaceutical preparations.

Costa, Heraldo Francisco;ávila, Ivete de;Gonalves, Manuel Maurício;
Revista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-72031998000900004
Abstract: purpose: to evaluate the efficacy of four antibiotic regimens in puerperal infection prophylaxis. patients and methods: according to vaginal or abdominal delivery and risk the presence or not of factors for puerperal infection, the patients were allocated to groups of low, medium and high risk for its development. between march 1994 and june 1997 2,263 patients were evaluated. results: the incidence of puerperal infection was different in each group. it was 3.1% in the low risk group, where no antibiotic was given, and 8.5% in the high risk group where all patients received three doses of 1 g ev cefalotin at six-hour intervals. in the medium risk group, the incidence of puerperal infection was 5.3% for the patients who used three doses of 1 g ev cefoxitin; 5.1% for those who used three doses of 1 g ev cefalotin; 4.0% when a single cefoxitin dose was used and 3.4% when a single cefalotin dose was used. conclusions: it is not necessary to use prophylactic antibiotic therapy in low risk patients and the first generation cephalosporins (cefalotin) are as efficacious as the second generation cephalosporins (cefoxitin) to prevent puerperal infection, independent of the applied dosage. cefalotin seems to be effective in preventing puerperal infection in patients at high risk.

An important source of competitive advantages for many organizations worldwide is the capacity to create designs for less complicated products, consisting of a small number easily assembled parts which, nonetheless, satisfy consumers' expectations, known as the Design for Assembly (DFA) approach.
