RESEARCH REGARDING THE INFLUENCE OF BETA IRRADIATION ON THE ENZYMATIC ACTIVITY OF BAKER’S YEAST

Abstract: The biotechnological properties and the maltase activity of baker’s yeast wereinvestigated by irradiation with beta radiations in doses of 9.76 Gy, 12.20 Gy,17.08 Gy and 22.96 Gy. We observed that the maltase activity is greater in yeastirradiated with lower doses (9.76 Gy, 12.20 Gy and 17.08 Gy) indicating that thebeta radiation have a stimulating effect on the fermenting capacity of baker’s yeast.This fact is valid also after 90 days. A higher dose induces a regress of this process.The baker’s yeast exposed at beta radiations produced cultures more vigorous,resistant and with higher biotechnological properties.

Abstract: The research concerning the possibility of cultivating Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris var. pekinensis) took place in the spring of 2011, in the experimental field which belongs to the Vegetable Growing Department from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Cluj-Napoca. A collection of varieties and hybrids belonging to this species was established, within which a variety (Granat) and four hybrids (Michihli, Kingdom 80, Nepa F1 and Vitimo F1) were used.During the vegetation period measurements were made regarding the growing and the development of these plants in Transylvanian Tableland specific conditions. The processing of data recorded at harvest shows that the obtained yield varied between 41.00 and 63.15 t/ha, the Vitimo F1 hybrid reaching the highest yield. The obtained yields are satisfying, considering that the culture was an ecological one, no chemical products such as fertilisers or substances for prevention and control of pests and diseases were used.
KARST WATER LEVEL PREDICTION BY DATA OF THE BüKK KARST WATER LEVEL MONITORING SYSTEM

Abstract: To define the exploitable water reserve of Bükk is important to support the sustainable water-supply of Miskolc. The prior water level prediction method was a trend line fitting method on measured data of a concrete monitoring point. The expectable character of water level change was determined by extension of trend line. End of 2011 the karst water level was decreased under absolute minimum value of 20 years database. Inspection of prior prediction method and find alternative prediction possibility was justified by that enormous decrease. A characteristic curve was created from data line of 20 years which shows the draining process of karst in exorbitantly arid period. That curve can fitted to any water level and probable karst water level is predictable if infiltration is zero after that point.
Embedded target toolbox for DSP control applications of BLDC motor

Abstract: This paper presents a Matlab embedded target toolbox used for the DC brushless (BLDC) motor applications. The synthesis, code generation, and the implementation of the control program, and also the control task itself are carried out on the host PC, under the Simulink. The target system is a brushless DC motor control kit – MSK243, connected on serial port COM to the host computer. With this real time library, it is possible to develop a Rapid Control Prototyping and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulations. During the running control task on the target, the full functionality of Matlab/Simulink can be used for parameter’s visualization without interrupting or impeding the control process on the MSK240 board.
DSP Based Controller of PMSM Drive for Robot Axis Applications

Abstract: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) have wide applications in industry, especially in AC servo drives such as industrial robots. Motion control of multi-axis robots demand to compensate various kinds of non-linear dynamical forces. These forces can be considered as a disturbance for the electrical servo drive. Digital Signal Processors (DSP) has greatly enhanced the potential of PMSM servo drive in such applications. Most of controller drives the PMSM by using the field orientation control mode. This method laid the motorat maximum theoretical performance. In order to prove its effectiveness the controller is applied to drive the joints of an industrial robot.

Abstract: Epigenetic mechanisms play a crucial role in regulating gene expression. The main mechanisms involve methylation of DNA and covalent modifications of histones by methylation, acetylation, phosphorylation, or ubiquitination. The complex interplay of different epigenetic mechanisms is mediated by enzymes acting in the nucleus. Modifications in DNA methylation are performed mainly by DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs) and ten-eleven translocation (TET) proteins, while a plethora of enzymes, such as histone acetyltransferases (HATs), histone deacetylases (HDACs), histone methyltransferases (HMTs), and histone demethylases (HDMs) regulate covalent histone modifications. In many diseases, such as cancer, the epigenetic regulatory system is often disturbed. Vitamin D interacts with the epigenome on multiple levels. Firstly, critical genes in the vitamin D signaling system, such as those coding for vitamin D receptor (VDR) and the enzymes 25-hydroxylase (CYP2R1), 1α-hydroxylase (CYP27B1), and 24-hydroxylase (CYP24A1) have large CpG islands in their promoter regions and therefore can be silenced by DNA methylation. Secondly, VDR protein physically interacts with coactivator and corepressor proteins, which in turn are in contact with chromatin modifiers, such as HATs, HDACs, HMTs, and with chromatin remodelers. Thirdly, a number of genes encoding for chromatin modifiers and remodelers, such as HDMs of the Jumonji C (JmjC)-domain containing proteins and lysine-specific demethylase (LSD) families are primary targets of VDR and its ligands. Finally, there is evidence that certain VDR ligands have DNA demethylating effects. In this review we will discuss regulation of the vitamin D system by epigenetic modifications and how vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of the epigenome, and evaluate its impact in health and disease.

Abstract: In the present study we monitored the evolution of the fermentative capacity ofthe 8 selected yeast strains Saccharomyces cerevisiae, under the influence of thefollowing compounds: perhydrol, lactic acid 90%, acetic acid, chlorhydric acid,sodium chloride, ammonium chloride, magnesium chloride and sodiumbisulphite. the greater number of autolysed yeast cells was obtained in case ofaddition of 90% lactic acid at pH 3, 0.2% sodium bisulphite and acetic acid at pH3. The lowest number of autolysed yeast cells was obtained with 0.1% ammoniumchloride, perhydrol and 0.1% magnesium chloride
On the Polyhedral Graphs with Positive Combinatorial Curvature

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to introduce a refinement of DeVos-Moharconjecture in which the number of vertices of polyhedral graphs with positivecombinatorial curvature, which are neither prisms, nor antiprisms, (PCC graphs) plays asignificant role. According to the conjecture proposed by DeVos and Mohar, for themaximal vertex number Vmax of a PCC graph, the inequality VLB=120 ≤ Vmax ≤VUB=3444 is fulfilled. In this paper we show that the lower bound VLB can be improved.The improved lower bound is VLB =138. It is also verified that there are no regular,vertex-homogenous PCC graphs with vertex number greater than 120. We conjecture thatfor PCC graphs the minimum value of combinatorial curvatures is not less than 1/380. Ifthe conjecture is true this implies that the upper bound VUB is not greater than 760.Moreover, it is also conjectured that there are no PCC graphs having faces with sidenumbergreater than 19, except two trivalent polyhedral graphs containing 20- and 22-sided faces, respectively.
WATER CHEMICAL EXAMINATIONS AT THE AREA OF TISZA’S RIVER - HEAD

Abstract: The River Tisza is the longest and nicest River of Hungary. I have visited Subcarpathia more than once with my family and we were mesmerized by its high mountains, beautiful landscape and the view of the River Tisza. Since water protection is very important so I have decided to start my water quality measurements close to the source. The investigation of the ecological factors persuaded me to exam the pollution level and the status pier of the river. Based on this, my aim was to exam the water samples and the measured data to be able to determine the status of the river. I have concluded the limit values based on the 10/2010.(VIII.18.) VM goverment decree on the water pollution limit values.
