Neurovascular Evaluation in Eugonadal Men with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Erectile Disfunction: A Comparative Study between Responders and Not Responders to Phosphodiesterase 5 Inhibitors  [PDF]

Advances in Sexual Medicine (ASM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/asm.2015.54010
Abstract: The aim of our study was to evaluate functional alterations of the corpus cavernusum and its correlation with the lack of response to treatment with PDE5i in eugonadal patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Erectile Dysfunction. In this prospective randomized study we included 157 patients. All were treated with 5 mg tadalafil daily and 100 mg sildenafil on demand and the response to treatment was assessed in 6 month by dividing them into 2 groups: G1: Good response. Significative improvement of erectile function according to IIEF-5, and G2: There was not an improvement with the treatment. At the end of the treatment we performed neurological and vascular studies to both groups. Also we performed CC-EMG in order to evaluate penile autonomic neuropathy. 82 patients were included in G1 and 75 in G2. The time evolution of the ED was 1.5 years for G1 and 5 years for G2. Average fasting glucose and glycosilated hemoglobin values were significantly higher in G2 than in G1. Also we observed significant differences in penile vascular parameters between both groups. Peripheral neuropathy parameters did not show differences between both groups. Cavernous smooth muscle electromyography showed asynchronous and asymetric potentials in G1 (minimal autonomic neuropathy) and denervation potentials in G2 characteristic of severe CC damage. It is concluded that vascular and autonomic alterations are causes of severe CC damage and lack of response to treatment with PDE5i in this population. Peripheral neuropathy is not part of this process.

Blackberry (Rubus fructicosus) is one of the fruit with the highest concentration of anthocyanins; however, its use is limited for making jams, jellies and liqueur, and recently, fruit concentrates in combination with pomegranate, blueberry and grape. One of the main problems with these pigments is their poor stability in solution, mainly in beverages as liqueur and juices, which depends on factors such as chemical structure, pH, temperature, light, water activity, and presence of oxygen. The effect of light on total monomeric anthocyanins content as well as the degradation rates and browning of two blackberry ethanolic extracts is to establish the conditions for storage of liqueur without adding artificial food coloring. The initial content of anthocyanins on extract without storage was 106 mg?l-1. The study assessed the light irradiation effect on the anthocyanins of blackberry ethanolic extract. The anthocyanins degradation followed the second order reaction kinetics with respect to illuminance of the light source. The t1/2 value at high illuminance (3968.30 lx) was 28.20 hours.

Small oscillations on and Lie theory
Revista de la Uni?3n Matem??tica Argentina , 2006,
Abstract: making use of lie theory we propose a model for the simple harmonic oscillator and for the linear inverse pendulum of . in both cases the phase space are orbits of the coadjoint representation of the heisenberg lie group. these orbits and the heisenberg lie algebra are included in a solvable lie algebra admitting an ad-invariant metric. the corresponding quadratic form induces the hamiltonian and the associated hamiltonian system is a lax equation.

Abstract: Via a non degenerate symmetric bilinear form we identify the coadjoint representation with a new representation and so we induce on the orbits a simplectic form. By considering Hamiltonian systems on the orbits we study some features of them and finally find commuting functions under the corresponding Lie-Poisson bracket
Small oscillations and the Heisenberg Lie algebra

Mathematics , 2006, DOI: 10.1088/1751-8113/40/10/011
Abstract: The Adler Kostant Symes [A-K-S] scheme is used to describe mechanical systems for quadratic Hamiltonians of $\mathbb R^{2n}$ on coadjoint orbits of the Heisenberg Lie group. The coadjoint orbits are realized in a solvable Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ that admits an ad-invariant metric. Its quadratic induces the Hamiltonian on the orbits, whose Hamiltonian system is equivalent to that one on $\mathbb R^{2n}$. This system is a Lax pair equation whose solution can be computed with help of the Adjoint representation. For a certain class of functions, the Poisson commutativity on the coadjoint orbits in $\mathfrak g$ is related to the commutativity of a family of derivations of the 2n+1-dimensional Heisenberg Lie algebra $\mathfrak h_n$. Therefore the complete integrability is related to the existence of an n-dimensional abelian subalgebra of certain derivations in $\mathfrak h_n$. For instance, the motion of n-uncoupled harmonic oscillators near an equilibrium position can be described with this setting.
Complex, symplectic and Kaehler structures on four dimensional Lie groups
Gabriela Ovando
Mathematics , 2003,
Abstract: In this work we deal with left invariant complex and symplectic structures on simply connected four dimensional solvable real Lie groups. We search the general form of such structures, when they exist and we make use of this information to determine all left invariant Kaehler structures. Finally, as an appendix we compute explicitly the real cohomology of the corresponding Lie algebras.
Two-step nilpotent Lie algebras with ad-invariant metrics and a special kind of skew-symmetric maps
Gabriela Ovando
Mathematics , 2006,
Abstract: We prove that a 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras admitting an ad-invariant metric can be constructed from a vector space $\mathfrak v$ endowed with a inner product $<, >$ and an injective homomorphism $\rho: \mathfrak v \to \mathfrak{so}(\mathfrak v)$ satisfying $\rho(v)v=0$ for all $v\in \mathfrak v$. The corresponding simply connected pseudo-Riemannian Lie groups are flat and any isometry fixing the identity element does not depend on $\rho$. The description allows to construct examples starting with a compact semisimple Lie algebra and it is useful to show some applications.

Revista de Relaciones Internacionales, Estrategia y Seguridad , 2012,
Abstract: in this paper we suggest that the evolution of the international situation in the southern cone of america in the security field, from the mid-seventies, has been interpreted by the national security doctrine and, subsequently, by moderate constructivist approaches. in the early nineties, the latter began to receive more attention as way of addressing the regional challenges in a context of internationalization and democratization of the political entities in the region. this is reflected in the use of concepts as security communities and relational autonomy, as well as the contributions of human security approaches. however, we also emphasize a rethinking of the traditional perspectives with the relevance of the realist approaches, and those advanced by the securitization of some issues, in particular those regarding the threat building related to the instrumentalization of enduring disputes over borders.
Líderes instrucionais e sua capacidade de fornecer feedback construtivo aos professores = Building instructional leaders’ capacity to deliver constructive feedback to teachers
Ovando, Martha N.
Educa??o , 2009,
