Abstract: Background: Dengue is a Neglected tropical disease (NTDs) with high incidence in Brazil. This disease is caused by Dengue virus and is transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquito. The search for new approaches for controlling of this disease is the subject of numerous studies. The aaNAT is a key enzyme in the metabolism of A. aegypti and is crucial in the sclerotization process, as well as regulation of circadian rhythm and inactivation of neurotransmitters. Computational techniques applied to studies of biological systems become an effective weapon in the mapping and management of 3D data structures, giving direction and guidance of potential ligands that can form stable complexes with targets of interest, using a Molecular Docking approach. The present study was conducted by a virtual screening, followed by docking calculations, in order to find molecules that could inhibit aaNAT. In this study, we used available compounds in SAM database (Bioinformatics and Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory—Southwest Bahia State University, Jequié-Bahia, Brazil), PubChem and ZINC. Results: The result of dockings with selected ligands showed good energy affinities, presenting potential inhibitory interactions with the enzyme active site. Conclusions: The Coa-S-acetyl-tryptamine and 3-indoleacriloil-coenzyme-A showed the same binding energies -8.9 Kcal/Mol and were described as possible inhibitors of aaNAT.

A filosofia enquanto crítica literária: o Baudelaire de Benjamin, e vice-versa
Oliveira, Bernardo Barros Coelho de;
Alea : Estudos Neolatinos , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-106X2005000100003
Abstract: analysis of some aspects of the essay "paris of the second empire in baudelaire", by walter benjamin, bringing it close to some postulations on literary criticism that have their origin in his thesis on friedrich schlegel, the concept of art in the german romanticism. it is our aim to show, in his late work about the french poet, the unfolding and culmination of positions formulated in his first thesis, in order to reveal what we believe to be the benjaminian concept of philosophy as a critical activity, that is, the strengthening of a reflexive game initiated by the work of art.
Baudelaire, Benjamin e a arquitetura d?As flores do mal
Oliveira, Bernardo Barros Coelho de;
Alea : Estudos Neolatinos , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-106X2007000200007
Abstract: this article tries to explore the idea, cautiously suggested by walter benjamin in "some motifs in baudelaire", concerning a "secret architecture" in the flowers of evil, a drawing that would be able to unify the poems and show the fragile harmony between the moments of the book in which the auratic perception is celebrated, and those in which its loss is undoubtedly affirmed. the poem "to a passerby" would function, in this architectonic approach, as a privileged passage between those extremities, and would show us a way to ponder the modern perception of the work of art, not as a simple overcoming of the auratic, but as a tense dialectic between shock and mourning for the lost unity.
Neuroticismo: algumas variáveis diferenciais
Oliveira,José H. Barros de;
Análise Psicológica , 2002,
Abstract: neuroticism is a cognitive-afective trait or a negative expression of personality. after defining this construct, some studies correlating it with other negative or positive personality emotions and with sociodemographic variables are reviewed. there follows an empirical section in which three studies are comparatively analysed according to age, gender, culture/nationality, and religion. given the paucity of definitive research capable of confirming any single hypothesis, the study remains exploratory, though some initial presuppositions are confirmed: according to gender, females are more neurotic than males; according to age, adolescents and older people are more neurotic than adults. in respect of culture/nationality, cabo verdians and angolans show a grater tendency towards neuroticism than the portuguese. concerning religious persuasion, there were found to be no significant differences between nuns and female students in terms of susceptibility to neuroticism.

Abstract: serum samples of 600 slaughtered cattle from ilhéus and itabuna municipal slaughterhouse and jequié federal slaughterhouse, all of them located in the state of bahia were screened using an indirect immunofluorescent antibody test against toxoplasma gondii. prevalence was 11.83% (71), and positive samples were distributed as 19.3% (37) from ilhéus, 9.8% (21) from itabuna and 6.8% (13) from jequié slaughterhouses respectively. from positive cattle, 91.5% (65) had titles 1:64, and 8.5% (6) had title 1:256. the majority of serum positive samples against t. gondii were related to animals from dairy farms which were slaughtered at municipality stockyards under municipal inspection in comparison with those slaughtered at federal inspection which were related to beef cattle that were raised in farms extensively.
Afetividade e fluência na intera??o empresarial: Um estudo sobre media??o

Avances en Psicología Latinoamericana , 2007,
Abstract: the interpersonal conflict between two managers of a medium size enterprise served as the basis for this case study, which had as its objective the investigation of the influence of mediation on the flow of communications and affectivity within the enterprise. the study focused on 19 participants, in three levels: directors, the director's support personnel and coordinators; and had as its theoretical foundation the mediation approaches: harvard traditional, transfomative, narrative-circular and facilitation based on the model of dynamic systems as explained by the theory of complexity. following the initial characterization of the company, the techniques of pre-mediation, mediation and group facilitation were utilized with quantitative analysis. with due care concerning the rationality of the results, a questionnaire was developed to measure the affect of mediation on flow of communication and level of affectivity in the company, qfc. the results of the questionnaire substantiate those of the mediation analysis, with 51% of the employees signaling positive changes in communication and affectivity in the company as a whole. the central points indicated by the participants as being reformulated by mediation are: authoritarianism, much pressure, lack of transparency, co-responsibility, aa-ta split, centralization and insufficient listening. the data indicates a systematic awakening of the awareness of conflicts, which is associated with a greater collective responsibility in seeking solutions, through the integrated management and the dynamic of individual competencies, both intra and enter corporate groups. the study considers, therefore, that mediation can be viewed as an alternative method for the resolution of conflicts, with positive results for the organizational environment.

Educa??o , 2007,
This article is focused on the sustainable development that links environmental, economic and social elements, and it is one of the great challenges of this millennium. From this conception, we signalized paths for the construction of a peace culture, which can contribute with subsidies for social workers in the prevention of violence.
