Tuberculose e leite: elementos para a história de uma polêmica
Antunes, José Leopoldo Ferreira;Moraes, Mirtes de;Biazevic, Maria Gabriela Haye;Waldman, Eliseu Alves;Corrêa, Marcelo Oswaldo Alvares;
História, Ciências, Saúde-Manguinhos , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-59702002000300007
Abstract: can human beings get tuberculosis from the milk taken from cows infected with tuberculosis? are the diagnosis and control of cattle tuberculosis effective for the protection of human populations? questions such as these were the main concern of doctors from s?o paulo at the beginning of the twentieth century. the present study tried to recover elements from the polemic that took place in s?o paulo, in order to encourage the coming up of complementary facts about such matter. the article presents some indicators of confronting positions: on one hand, the goal of intensifying the control of tuberculosis among the cattle; on the other hand, the attempt not to bring up any loss to national cattle raisers through the demand of additional precaution measures, which would affect the production and distribution of their products. medical publications kept records of the interventions, which have allowed the author to identify the first position as the stronger one, which has brought up relevant consequences for the sanitary food control.
A inaugura??o da interlocu??o entre a educa??o e a psicanálise no Brasil: Arthur Ramos, transferência, ideal e autoridade
Corrêa, Cristia Rosineiri Gon?alves Lopes;
Psicologia USP , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642011005000036
Abstract: this article discusses the role played by ideal in arthur ramos approach, in the beginning of the conversation between education and psychoanalysis, by introducing the notion of “problem-child” and claiming mental hygiene as obvious measure by transference. the author posits that whereas ramos takes as mainly tool the ideal dimension comprised by the transference to restore the degraded authority in the children problems pictures in the school, we can verify from lacan rigorously founded on freud’s works, that the ideal segregates and it is on the opposite side to authority. in this sense, this article, in approaching in an enhanced way the transference, verifies one deviation in the origin of this conversation between these two fields, in the brazilian context.
Estudo eletromiográfico da degluti??o na musculatura supra-hióidea em sujeitos Classe Ie III de Angle
Nagae, Mirian Hideko;Alves, Marcelo Corrêa;
Revista CEFAC , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-18462009000700011
Abstract: purpose: to compare suprahyoid musculature's electric activity during swallowing in subjects with dissimilar morphological and dental patterns. methods: surface electromyography's records were taken from 32 healthy volunteers who do not have temporomandibular dysfunction, subdivided into two groups, angle's 16 class i subjects and 16 class iii subjects, males and females, aging from 18 to 25-year old. results: the values to root mens square (p< 0.05): original class i (15.238) e class iii (32.550); normalized by maximum peak class i (29.765) e class iii (42.094); normalized by medium class i (29.332) e class iii (42.327). cycle's active period (p<0.05) class i (29.7648) e class iii (42.0937); maximum activity instance (p>0.05) class i (47.6485) e class iii (47.9437). conclusion: class i subjects showed a smaller average amplitude, with increase and decrease of synchronized and balanced electric activity. class iii subjects showed a larger average amplitude and a larger desynchronized and unbalanced period during deglutition.

O temor na tragédia
Cristia Rosineiri Gon?alves Lopes Corrêa
Revista Mal-estar e Subjetividade , 2010,
Abstract: This article argues that an essential characteristic of tragedy, in spite of its deviations and time resumptions, can be found from a psychoanalytic perspective which, with Jaques Lacan, claims that the vehicle for the truth of the subject's desire can be found within the core of the tragic spirit, which is revealed through the tragedy in its pure sense, purified from all imaginary order by means of the purge of passions of fear and pity, about which Aristotle speaks. The article investigates what the purification of fear in tragedy is all about. For this approach, we work with Sophocles' tragedy, Antigone, since it is in the comments on this play, in Lacan s lecture of 1959-60, The Psychoanalysis Ethics that we can find a significant approach to the problematics of fear in this tragedy. In his lecture on The Psychoses, some years before his comment on Antigone, Lacan leaves us another significant element as a legacy. When he talks about courage and fear from Jean Racine's tragedy Atalia, this element would explain what fear in Antigone would be. In this sense, this article approaches the aforementioned tragedy, even without the dimension of the approach to the tragedy of Antigone for it is the basic line of thinking of this article. It is also argued that the approach to fear in Antigone must be thought of from the approach to fear in Atalia and, in this direction, the importance of the notion of authority in this problematic is verified.
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis in basset hound dog  [PDF]
Carlos E. Fonseca-Alves, Aline G. Corrêa, Fabiana Elias
Open Journal of Animal Sciences (OJAS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ojas.2012.22015
Abstract: An 1-year-old male Basset Hound dog was evaluated for chronic intermittent vomiting, hematemesis, and melena which had been ongoing for several months. The histopathologic examination revealed that all layers of the small intestine were thicker than normal. The lamina propria of the mucosa, including the villi, exhibited a prominent cellular infiltrate which consisted of numerous eosinophils and an increased numbers of plasma cells in addition to the normal lymphocytic component. The muscularis mucosa was invaded, and in some places disrupted, by eosinophils, which also infiltrated into the submucosa and muscularis propria. This report describes the pathological findings of a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EG) in a dog.
A study of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in risk groups in the city of Santos, S?o Paulo, Brazil
Coelho, Andréa Gobetti Vieira;Zamarioli, Liliana Aparecida;Telles, Maria Alice;Ferrazoli, Lucilaine;Waldman, Eliseu Alves;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02762012000600009
Abstract: monitoring the extent of and trends in multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (mdr-tb) is a priority of the brazilian national tuberculosis control programme. the current study aimed to estimate the incidence of mdr-tb, describe the profile of tb drug resistance in risk groups and examine whether screening for mdr-tb adhered to the recommended guidelines. a descriptive study that examined diagnosed cases of pulmonary tb was conducted in the city of santos, brazil, between 2000-2004. of the 2,176 pulmonary tb cases studied, 671 (30.8%) met the criteria for drug sensitivity testing and, of these cases, 31.7% (213/671) were tested. among the tested cases, 9.4% were resistant to one anti-tb drug and 15% were mdr. mdr was observed in 11.6% of 86 new tb cases and 17.3% of 127 previously treated cases. the average annual incidence of mdr-tb was 1.9 per 100,000 inhabitants-years. the extent of known mdr-tb in the city of santos is high, though likely to be underestimated. our study therefore indicates an inadequate adherence to the guidelines for mdr-tb screening and suggests the necessity of alternative strategies of mdr-tb surveillance.
