Abstract: Urban areas are known by their facilities and enhanced opportunities of living and employment. With the availing all the facilities, many serious issues have emerged due to urbanization in developing countries. The most highlighted problems include security and crime in urban areas in developing countries. This paper is aimed to focus on the urban crime, the reasons behind the crime happened, the major indicators of crimes and what is the city response and what policy should be developed by police and society. To achieve the objective of this research secondary data was used. With the help of literature crime indicators were explored and explained well in this research. Eight countries were analyzed with the help of literature to check the overall crime situation there. Crime in those all eight countries was low to high level. It is in alarming in some areas of Africa and other developing countries. Study showed crime is increasing from last three years which is high. In any society urban crime prevails it created unsafe environment, threaten to lives, threaten to belonging and has impact on life quality and economy of the country. Law force agencies must be empowered and well equipped to control the situation. Its government responsibilities to create employment opportunities for youth so that they cannot engage into illegal activities.
Negrelle, Raquel R. B.;Doni, Maria Elisabete;
Horticultura Brasileira , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-05362001000300013
Abstract: guaco (mikania glomerata sprenguel) sprout production was studied by the cutting technique using stem cuttings at different developmental phases (phases are defined as hardwood, semi-hardwood, softwood or herbaceous). developmental phases were separated into a total of eight treatments: two kinds of hardwood cuttings - straight and mallet, both without leaves; semi-hardwood, softwood and herbaceous cuttings were tested with and without leaves. these treatments were organized in random blocks, each with four replicates of 10 cuttings. at 45 days, the cutting precocity was evaluated through the criteria: presence of sprouts; length of longest sprout. at 60 days the cutting establishment was re-evaluated with the additional criteria: presence of adventitious roots; dry weights of above-ground and below-ground portions of cuttings. the following characteristics were also examined, with the same experimental design as described above: presence of pre-formed roots; visual estimate of starch concentration (high, medium, low) after treatment with 0.2% lugol; visual estimate of phenol concentration (high, medium, low) after treatment with aqueous 1.0% ferrous chloride. there were significant treatment effects on sprout production. the semi-hardwood branches with leaves were ideal to prepare cuttings because they favor the precocity of sprouts and their establishment.

Revista Ceres , 2013,
This paper is a prospective study about the bromeliads production and trade in Paraná State, Brazil, which aimed to know the producers' profile in Paraná State with the respective capacity of meeting market demands, identify and characterize the different levels of the bromeliads production chain, as well as detect the main bottlenecks to the development of this sector. A total of 19 producers were interviewed; 160 retailers and 18 wholesalers. The amount of bromeliads from the regional production and suitable to be the traded was 5340 plants per year, which was lower than the State demand. The conditions demanded by retailers (r) and wholesalers (w) to purchase bromeliads from regional producers were: equal to or lower price than it is sold in S o Paulo (required by: r = 134; w = 18), production quality demanded as found in the market (r = 86; w = 16), ability to make regular deliveries (r = 81; w = 11) and replacement capacity for requests of extra orders (r = 55; w = 7). It was not found in Paraná a producer that could meet all requirements simultaneously. The main barriers that prevented the inclusion of production in the regional market were due to the inapplicability of the rura

The results of phenological monitoring and quantification of seedproduction of Vriesa incurvata Gaudich were presented. The study was carried out in Rio da On a State Park, (Matinhos, Paraná State, Brazil, 25 ° 50′S and 48° 30′W). The occurrence of flowering, fructification and dispersion phases, and sprouts were registered. In parallel, 30 inflorescences were collected in two dates (August, 2003 and 2004) in order to evaluated the size, number of developed fruits and amount of seeds. The flowering happened from January to February, with the highest level observed in April and May. Fructification andthe emission of clone sprouts began in April and persisted through June and July. Dispersal started on August and continued until December. There were positive correlations between the phenophases of inflorescence emission to temperature and photoperiod. The fructification and emission of clone sprouts presented negative correlation with photoperiod during monitoring.
