Abstract: This text is sociologically structured on the idea that the image construction of communities engaged in the “Festividades do Boi” helps to make their recognizing and identity affirmation processes stronger, once the esthetic values represent the way how the social self-confidence reproduction of these groups is noticed and so is their values and history portrait. We tried to characterize the symbols and representations of these parties and the link they have with the communities historical moment, trying to show that they esthetically represent and recognize themselves through time, using photographs shot by themselves or other ones, like newspapers. O presente trabalho aborda uma análise sobre a constru o da imagem das comunidades que participam das festividades do boi, sob a ótica sociológica do processo de reconhecimento e afirma o da identidade das mesmas, uma vez que os valores estéticos representam a forma perceptiva da reprodu o da auto-estima social dos grupos e do retrato de seus valores e história. Levando em considera o sua produ o estética espontanea, procuramos caracterizar os simbolismos e representa es presentes nessas manifesta es e sua contextualiza o com o momento histórico que está sendo vivido por essas comunidades, mostrando como as mesmas se auto-representam.
Planning Science Instruction for Critical Thinking: Two Urban Elementary Teachers’ Responses to a State Science Assessment

Abstract: Science education reform standards have shifted focus from exploration and experimentation to evidence-based explanation and argumentation to prepare students with knowledge for a changing workforce and critical thinking skills to evaluate issues requiring increasing scientific literacy. However, in urban schools serving poor, diverse populations, where the priority is on students’ assessment results in reading and math, students may not receive reform-based science. The rationale for this qualitative study was to examine how two elementary teachers from high-poverty urban schools planned for reform-based science in response to a quality state science assessment in conjunction with their training and resources. Their state assessment included an inquiry task requiring students to construct responses to questions based on their investigation data. From evaluating evidence using Zembal-Saul’s continuum for teaching science as argument, the findings indicated that both teachers adopted an investigation-based and evidence-based approach to science teaching to prepare students for the inquiry task. However, one teacher provided argument-based science teaching from her explicit training in that approach. The results suggested that the teachers’ training and resources informed their interpretation of the focus areas on the science assessment inquiry task and influenced the extent to which they offered students an equitable opportunity to develop higher-order thinking from reform-based science.

Estrutura e desenvolvimento dos tricomas secretores em folhas de Piper regnellii (Miq.) C. DC. var. regnellii (Piperaceae)

Abstract: piper regnellii has two types of trichomes: pearl glands and sac-like trichomes. both secretory trichomes originate from the protoderm of the leaf primordium and reach maturity in the young leaves found in the shoot apex. the pearl glands are more abundant on the abaxial surface, while the sac-like trichomes cover completely both young leaf blade. the density of both trichomes decreases during blade expansion, being scarce in the adult leaf. the pearl glands are composed of a basal cell and an apical cell whose shape ranges from semi-globular to spatula-like. secretion release occurs after rupture of the distended cuticle. the sac-like trichomes are composed of a basal cell, 1-2 stalked cells and an apical conical cell parallel to the leaf surface. the secretion is accumulated in minute subcuticular spaces. no cuticular ruptures have been observed.

Abstract: this study investigates the construction of identity that emerges in the consumers' discursive production of a conciliation hearing in a kind of brazilian small claim court (juizado especial de rela??es de consumo) in minas gerais state. based on theories of interactional sociolinguistic and on conversation analyses techniques, we recorded four conciliation hearings and analyzed the identity construction of the consumer through their accounts. the data analysis confirmed the richness of identity construction in the narratives we analyzed. we perceived that consumers construct their identities in order to align themselves in the role of victim and align their opponent in the role of villain. for that, the most used strategies are: the exploration of a great number of repetition, the use of extreme terms, and the incorporation of different identity categories.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to identify the main internationalization strategies used by small manufacturers of hammocks. Our findings show that these export companies have up to 20 employees and their main internationalization strategy is exportation. This plan is carried out in 3 ways: indirect exportation, through trading companies; direct exportation, through sales performed in the companies and cooperative exportation, through a network of dealers in greater companies. Its was also verified that some organizations export up to 60% of their products while the vast majority does not even export 5% of it, turning primarily to the domestic market.

Abstract: Objective: to identify the generating factors of stress in the critical customers of the Unit of Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) that they are not sedated or in coma. Methods: descriptive, exploratory research and qualitative, carried through by means of a survey of the scientific production in periodic in the databases of the Lilacs, Medline and Scielo of last the ten years, where 10 publications had been selected. Results: with the technological development, as for example, mechanical devices of invasive monitoriza o, and fans, the ITU if had become highly modern, becoming the more frightening intensive cares for the customers. Conclusion: the factors, such as, to have pain, sleeplessness, absence of the familiar ones, to be tubed, the racket of the machineries, the difficulty of a communication and the dehumanization are the generating factors of stress. It is distinguished that it has controlled stress of it will allow to improve the physical and psychic condition, to promote an environment more humanized, and to assist in the planning of the nursing assistance more.

Abstract: The gender is a social construction which conducís boys and girls to manifest different behavior in the society. These patterns behavior bring repercussions in the motor performance. Thus, the aim of this study was to verify if there is difference in the physical and motor performance of boys and girls through the Eurofit, verifing at the same time if there are theoric ties which explain the interference in these performances. A census with 118 students of both sexes from the 5th and 6th grades of Colégio de Aplica o Dr. Paulo Gissoni was carried out. The characteristics of the motor performance was obtained through the batttery of Eurofit Test. The percentile statistic anlyses showed that the boys got letter results in the most tests.

Abstract: Nesta espécie ocorrem dois tipos de tricomas secretores: glandula perolada e tricoma saculiforme. Ambos originam-se na protoderme do primórdio foliar e atingem sua maturidade nas folhas jovens presentes no ápice caulinar. A densidade dos dois tipos de tricomas diminui durante a expans o do limbo, sendo raros na folha adulta. As glandulas peroladas s o constituídas por uma célula basal e por uma célula apical grande cuja forma varia de semi-globóide a espatulada. A libera o da secre o ocorre após a ruptura da cutícula distendida. Os tricomas saculiformes s o constituídos por uma célula basal, 1-2 células colares e uma célula apical c nica, de posi o inclinada à superfície foliar. A secre o acumula-se em espa os subcuticulares diminutos, n o tendo sido observada ruptura da cutícula.
A educa o complementar em Araraquara-SP: uma oportunidade de reestrutura o do habitus para as classes populares

Abstract: Pretende-se, por meio deste artigo, apresentar e avaliar a importancia do Centro de Educa o Complementar Piaquara, situado em Araraquara-SP. Essa institui o foi criada em 1994 e destina-se a atender crian as que se encontram na faixa etária compreendida entre 7 a 14 anos de idade. O princípio pedagógico dessa institui o, bem como os procedimentos didáticos utilizados para sua efetiva o, permitem à crian a a aquisi o da alta cultura. Nesse sentido, consideramos, com base na no o de habitus formulada por Pierre Bourdieu, que o Centro de Educa o Complementar, por meio de suas práticas culturais, tem propiciado a seus alunos um “aumento” de capital cultural, desencadeando uma reestrutura o em seu habitus primário. Acreditamos que o modelo pedagógico assumido por esta institui o é bastante adequado à educa o de crian as, sobretudo para as crian as das classes populares. Palavras-chave: Educa o complementar.
