Abstract: the objective of this research is to evaluate how much the clients that frequently went to the diabetes ambulatory, knew about their own ill, and the feet care. in the sample - diabetes type 2 - the majority were people with more than fifty years old and 71.8% were diabetics for more than ten years. so the conclusion that could be taken is that the clients knew about the care that they must have with their feet to don't have complications, but the "own care" is not well done. to insert it in the rightly on their day-by-day they must have acess to the information about diabetes, participation of the family, motivation and their own hability.

Chagas disease affects 8 to 10 million people worldwide and, although most of them live in Latin America, there has been an increase in cases occurring in countries of Europe and North America although most of them live in Latin America. This study aims to describe the epidemiological situation in the present as well as government and research centers actions, particularly the study group of Chagas disease of the School of Medicine of Botucatu (FMB/UNESP)/Brazil.

Abstract: this study aims to get to know the life project of a group of adolescents at a basic health unit in marilia-sp. a qualitative research was carried out through semi-structured interviews and group meetings, using the educational group technique with participant observation from the focus of paulo freire's theory. throughout group discussions, three questions arose: what is being an adolescent; what is being healthy and what is the adolescent's life project. these themes were analyzed from the focus of minayo. the analysis indicated that the adolescents have a life project, in spite of the characteristic difficulties of the socioeconomic conditions they belong to, a fact they perceive. the practice of freire's ideals enhanced dialogue between the researcher and the group, pointing out that this is one way for a true critical reflection of the identified problems, providing adolescents with a means for making others aware and fighting for their life project.

Abstract: O estudo se prop e a conhecer o projeto de vida de um grupo de adolescentes de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde em Marília, S o Paulo, utilizando pesquisa qualitativa, por meio de entrevistas individuais semi-estruturadas e de reuni es em grupo, empregando a técnica de grupo educativo, com observa o participante, sob o enfoque de Paulo Freire. Nas discuss es em grupo, foram apresentadas três quest es: o que é ser adolescente; o que é ter saúde e qual o projeto de vida do adolescente, e as temáticas foram analisadas sob o enfoque de Minayo. A análise indicou que os adolescentes têm um projeto de vida, apesar das dificuldades próprias das condi es socioecon micas a que pertencem, fato por eles percebido. A prática dos ideais de Freire envolveu o pesquisador com o grupo, indicando ser este o caminho para a verdadeira reflex o crítica dos problemas levantados, propiciando um meio para a conscientiza o e luta pelo seu projeto de vida.

Information Search Behavior: Proposal of Study with Investors in the Stock Market  [PDF]

With the aim of analyzing the information search behavior of investors working in the stock market, this research sought to raise the aspects related to this behavior with focus on the cognitive and causal aspects which pervaded the need for information of these investors. For that, the general pattern of informational behavior proposed by Wilson [1] and the analysis of a report from an investor of the stock market area were used as the basis for the analysis and reflection. The report of only one investor was used as the basis for investigation, turning it impossible to extrapolate such result to a greater universe. The objective of this research was to investigate the need for information, the context and the intervenient variables which might interfere or not in the information search behavior of investors, in an attempt to get a deeper comprehension about the subject, as well as to propose the continuity of studies with basis on this study proposal.

Abstract: the type of relationships a child establishes in kindergarten can affect his/her learning. the main purpose of this study was to investigate associations between relational behavior and achievement in that context, taking children?s sex into account. sixty-eight boys and 65 girls from public schools participated in the study. their ages ranged from 5 to 7 years. teachers filled out a scale assessing children?s behaviors in relation to classroom tasks, teacher, and peers. achievement was assessed by means of an evaluation of pre-reading skills. results showed that girls were assessed more positively than boys. for both sexes, achievement measures correlated with behaviors related to tasks, peers, and teacher, in this order of strength. achievement was more strongly related with interpersonal behaviors for boys than for girls. some alternative explanations for boys? greater susceptibility to relational difficulties are discussed.

Abstract: the nursing administration was added to the nursing undergraduation currículum when the evidence of this need came clear to the brazilian nurses. the main objective of the present investigation is to describe the history pathway of scientific productions about nursing administration to evidence the special points of this history, intended to contribute to the understanding of the sequence of their productions and the utilization of this concepts in the administration nursing practice. the study referred from 1947 to 1972, by the searching in the electronic nursing scientific publications data base named perienf. the results were 19 indications submitted to a thematic analysis treatment. this procedure reveals that since the forties the nurses were conscious of the difficulties they had experimented in their administration performance, growing up to the inclusion of this theme in the undergraduate courses and demonstrating its organization until the definition of the "currículo mínimo do curso de enfermagem e obstetrícia" in 1972, granting a special place of this discipline.
