Abstract: a considerable part of the epistemological studies in the field of information science, in brazil, bears on a vector interdisciplinarity. however, some cases betray the difficulties of disciplinary integration and epistemological consolidation. these are based on construction of bibliometric indicators, excluding the discourse functions that reflect the sense effects arising there from. the objective of this paper is to understand the implicit and latent effects in the constitution of this discourse and the potential epistemological barriers to the consolidation of information science. the analytical corpus is based on 12 articles selected from the scientific brazilian production which discuss the disciplinary integration in information science. selection of the articles was based on an analysis developed in a previous phase of this research, seeking the construction of its object and discursive processes. the analysis and discussions were based on discourse analysis of french tradition. the discourse of interdisciplinarity, in information science, is permeated by more than one discursive formation, but is anchored by the dominant discourse which has as its vector the determinations of the informational development mode. this discourse uses naturalizing and generalizing strategies to mask its ideological contour. the fragility in the processes of disciplinary integration translates itself into a difficulty in the epistemological establishment and consolidation of information science.

Neves, Dulce Amélia de Brito;Dias, Eduardo Wense;Pinheiro, ?ngela Maria Vieira;
Ciência da Informa??o , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-19652006000300014
Abstract: this research aimed to identify similarities and differences in the use of the following metacognitive strategies between proficient readers professional indexers and non-indexers: monitoring non-comprehension, hypothesis construction, the relation between sentence and paragraph, question-&-answer, the mental development of summarization, value judgment, repetition and recall. the method applied was the verbal (think-aloud) protocol which allows for the retention of individual reports of personal cognitive processes during the exercise of the task, or to the extent that these can be recalled. the reading of two texts was applied to seven indexers and to seven informants of a control group. the results show that the indexers read in a similar way to the control group, differentiated only in terms of strategies of summary construction. the methodological question related to the markedness or non-markedness of the text was also tested. the conclusion was in favor of the need to formally introduce the teaching of metacognitive strategies in the training of the indexer in reading.
Religious Practice and Attitudes towards Offenders  [PDF]
Lucas Marcelo Rodriguez, José Eduardo Moreno
Psychology (PSYCH) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2013.48089

This ex post facto study aims to investigate the influence of religious practice on the types of reaction to situations of offence. A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to evaluate the relationship between religious practice and the attitudes towards offenders. The study was carried out with adolescents and young people of both sexes. The sample comprised 673 male and female, with an average age of 18.28 and standard desviation of 1.21. As regards the religion that they practiced: 555 were catholic (82.5%) 39 were evangelical (5.8%) and others 79 (11.7%). To assess the level of religious practice, a grid with items containing the frequency of religious practice was prepared, taking into account the person’s self perception. The second instrument used was the Attitudes Towards Offenders Questionnaire (ATOQ). This instrument consists of seven scales, grouped into three factors: passive, aggressive and prosocial behavior, corresponding to the different responses to situations of offence: submission, denial, vengeance, resentment, hostility, claim for an explanation and forgiveness. The result of MANOVA of the tree factors of ATOQ, according to religious practice (practitioner, occasional practitioner and not practitioner), stated a significant difference. When analyzing the contrasts we can see that practitioners are less aggressive with respect to occasional practitioners and non practitioners. As regards the prosocial factor, the only significant contrast is shown in practitioners, who have a higher average of prosocial attitudes compared to non-practitioners.
