Abstract: health education aims at democratizing the access to knowledge and to make the community people able to act as co-managers in health's promotion. this work's objective was to present pharmaceutical service care experience in action in the community, in order to promote the rational use of medicine. we used a research- action qualitative approach. experience description and people's perception survey (responsible for groups involved in the current lecture) were accomplished, and observed in this study. 22 lectures were done, reaching as a total 565 participants; pre-selected themes involved subjects as polymedication, self-medication and adhesion therapeutics, and the ones that emerged during each lecture were classified as emergent topics, represented by participant experiences (as for their diseases and treatment solutions, their collateral effects etc; also non-pharmacological health problems handling; quality, security and generic medicine effectiveness and medicine access should be approached here, in these cases). under group leaders perception, and approval,; it was mentioned that the lectures contributed to a more rational use, provided an important posture change, as some reports in the media said, as can be read. the lectures collaborated to reinforce that the health team role is not only to allow an access to medicine, but also to guarantee its correct use. this experience highlights the pharmacist action as a health professional. his role is carried out in rational medicine use promotion, employing in this action - besides scientific knowledge - abilities to use the population experiences in the action of teaching , respecting all individuals and making them active in this process.

Abstract: the passiflora alata curtis is a fruit plant with increasing economical interest because its esthetic, medicinal, organoleptics and nutritional characteristics. however, some technological problems need to be overcome concerning its utilization, such as the absence of cultivar presenting fruits with high pulp revenue, fine skin and high brix degree. this research was aimed at to analyzing the genetic basis of the fruit characteristics of the sweet passion fruit plant, by evaluating the combining ability. to achieve the goals, it was used a partial diallel, involving 36 f1s and the 12 parental. it was estimated the general combining ability - gca and the specific combining ability - sca for weigh of the fruit, weight of the pulp, thickness of the skin, brix degree and pulp revenue. there were not found statistically significant differences in gca values weight of the fruit, weight of the pulp and brix degree. the sca values also did not show statistically significant differences for all the characteristics analyzed, which show that the variability is predominately due to addictive gene effects. one should, for this reason, do selection for characteristics with larger inheritance. among the genitors evaluated, mother 2, mother 6 and father 5 were outstanding, because they exhibited the best ranking average, being promising plants for future crosses in order to obtain superior progenies for agronomic traits.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to estimate the combined ability of sweet passionfruit by multivariate analysis to support breeding. twelve genotypes, six female parents and six male parents, in a partial diallel were utilized to develop 36 f1 progenies, stablished in the field in randomized blocks with four replicates, without the parents. weight of the fruit, weight of the pulp, epicarp thickness, total soluble solids content, and pulp production were evaluated. data were submitted to analysis of variance, partial diallel analysis, and multivariate diallel variance analysis. afterwards, the selection index of distance to the ideotype for selection of the parents was utilized. the better female and male parental were m4 and m2 and p5 and p6, respectively, and the better crosses were m4 x p6 and m2 x p2. the results provided evidence that the utilization of diallel and multivariate analysis at the same time can be useful to the breeding programs, in particular by guiding the selection of the best combinations for future crosses to further increase the genetic gain in various traits simultaneously.
Virulência de isolados de Colletotrichum gloeosporioides de popula??es selvagens de Stylosanthes spp

Abstract: the objectives of this work were to determine the virulence/avirulence pattern and the races of 274 isolates of colletotrichum gloeosporioides from wild populations of stylosantes spp. from the states of goiás, bahia and minas gerais, in 12 differential plants as well as to group the isolates according to of their similarity in virulence. monosporic cultures of the isolates were inoculated onto 12 accessions of differential plants. results (virulence/avirulence) were surveyed ten days after inoculation. most brazilian isolates of c. gloeosporioides from wild populations of stylosanthes spp. presented low virulence capacity, the predominant race does not present virulence to any of the accessions of differential plants evaluated and besides there is no pattern of virulence variability distribution among the isolates by state of origin.
Herdabilidade e ganho genético em caracteres do fruto do maracujazeiro-doce

Abstract: the sweet passion fruit, passiflora alata curtis, is a fruit tree that has been gaining economic importance because their fruits can be consumed in natura due to its unique flavor. however, some technologic obstacles need to be overcome in order to allow plantation in large scale, such as the absence of cultivars producing fruits with high pulp output, mechanic resistance in its skin, and high levels of soluble solids. in this context, this work was carried out to estimate the inheritability (h2) and the genetic gain as expected selection response for the traits: weigh of the fruit, weight of the pulp, thickness of the skin, brix degree and pulp output. to achieve the goals, it was used f1 progenies from 36 crosses involving six females and six males' half sib genotypes. the results showed a broad variation in the h2 values across crosses and the predominance of the additive gene effects in the genetic control of the evaluated traits. therefore, it its necessary to take into account the substantial effect of the cross factor in the h2 estimative and the direct selection in the majority of the progenies because the additive gene effects are predominant in the majority of the studied traits.
Caracteriza??o molecular de acessos de mandioca biofortificados com potencial de uso no melhoramento genético

Abstract: cassava presents potential as source of carotenoids for human diet, in special β-carotene (within the yellow roots) and lycopene (within the pinkish roots). so, the possibility for cassava to be, besides source of calories, source of vitamins and antioxidants as well is faced as a manner to improve the nutrition of inhabitants of developing countries. in the present work, the aim was to characterize by rapd markers 20 accessions of biofortified cassava with potential for use in genetic improvement. the accessions were evaluated via rapd markers, being then estimated the matrix of genetic similarity among the accessions by using the jaccard index. the analysis using 12 primers generated a total of 144 markers, among which 120 (83%) were polymorphic. the clustering analysis revealed the formation of three groups, being group one formed by seven accessions with pinkish root pulp and two with yellow root pulp, group two formed by eight accessions with yellow root pulp and one accession with pinkish root pulp, and group three formed by improved accessions with either cream color or white root pulp. the rapd markers were efficient to determine the genetic variability among the cassava accessions with yellow, pinkish, cream color and white root pulp, differentiated the improved accessions from the others and revealed a trend to separate the accessions with pinkish root pulp from the accessions with yellow root pulp.

Abstract: The sweet cassava cultivar BRS Japonesa was selected by the cassava breeding program of Embrapa Cerrados in25 participatory evaluations conducted in the region of the Distrito Federal, Brazil. The cultivar was well-accepted by producers,and the probability of being ranked among the top four cultivars is 80 %.
Characterization of sweet cassava accessions based on molecular, quantitative and qualitative data

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to estimate the genetic divergence in sweet cassava accessions by molecular markersand quantitative and qualitative characters, as well as determine the correlation between these estimates. Sixteen sweet cassavaaccessions of the Regional Cassava Germplasm Bank of the Cerrado were evaluated under field conditions, for 13 quantitative and33 qualitative characters. In the laboratory, the accessions were evaluated with RAPD markers. Subsequently, matrixes of geneticdissimilarity/distance among the accessions were estimated based on molecular markers and quantitative and qualitative characters.Besides, the significance of the correlation between the matrixes was estimated. The RAPD, qualitative and quantitative dataindicated the existence of high divergence among the accessions. The divergences estimated by molecular markers and by quantitativetraits were weakly associated with each other and moderately with the divergence estimated by qualitative characters.
Emprego de modelos gráficos na sele o de genitores de milho para hibridiza o e mapeamento genético

Abstract: A dissimilaridade genética estimada por meio de marcadores moleculares, quando acompanhada de informa es fenotípicas, é importante para a sele o de genótipos para o melhoramento e o mapeamento genético. Desta forma, os objetivos deste estudo foram: i) estimar a dissimilaridade genética entre 30 linhagens de milho contrastantes para a tolerancia ao encharcamento; ii) selecionar genitores para mapeamento e melhoramento genético; iii) comparar diferentes métodos de visualiza o gráfica das distancias. Foram utilizados 21 iniciadores de RAPD. A dissimilaridade genética foi estimada por meio do complemento do coeficiente de similaridade de Dice, posteriormente foi construído um dendrograma pelo método de agrupamento da distancia média e calculado o coeficiente de correla o cofenética entre a matriz de dissimilaridade e o dendrograma gerado. O complemento da matriz de similaridade foi submetido também à análise de componentes principais e de escala multidimensional. Para ambas as análises, foi testada a eficiência das proje es, por meio da correla o entre as distancias originais e as representadas nos gráficos. As técnicas de agrupamento n o revelaram um bom ajuste entre as distancias apresentadas graficamente e a matriz original de distancias, com correla es de 0,70, 0,53 e 0,75 para o dendrograma, componentes principais e análise de escala multidimensional, respectivamente. Dentre as técnicas de agrupamento empregadas, a que atendeu de forma mais precisa aos objetivos do trabalho foi a análise multidimensional, uma vez que esta, além de apresentar a maior correla o com a matriz original de distancias, preservou as distancias entre todos os pares de genótipos. Além disso, esta técnica é a mais indicada quando o objetivo do trabalho é a defini o de cruzamentos, pois ela permite uma observa o mais fácil das distancias entre todos os pares de genótipos.
Conseqüências da multicolinearidade sobre a análise de trilha em canola

Abstract: A análise estatística do tipo multivariada vem crescendo consideravelmente, motivando a sua ampla utiliza o por parte dos pesquisadores criando, assim, grande demanda por conhecimentos específicos tanto a respeito da sua aplica o quanto das suas pressuposi es ou limita es. Para que a avalia o do grau de associa o entre diferentes caracteres de importancia agron mica tenha uma estimativa confiável em termos biológico, é de fundamental importancia identificar e quantificar o grau de multicolinearidade entre as variáveis estudadas. Além disso, os tipos de modelos estatísticos e matemáticos utilizados na determina o desta dependência linear entre as variáveis classificatórias ou independentes podem ou n o ser adequados a estimativas dos parametros biológicos avaliados. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar uma avalia o crítica sobre o grau de multicolinearidade identificado e avaliado sobre a análise de trilha analisada sobre partes de um experimento de canola. Os resultados permitem inferir que a aplica o da análise de trilha sobre o grau de multicolinearidade severa produz resultados sem nenhuma importancia biológica para o melhorista de plantas. No entanto, esta limita o pode ser facilmente identificada e corrigida através da análise de trilha com colinearidade empregando uma constante (k) na diagonal da matriz X?X. O modelo de análise com multicolinearidade severa, entretanto, superestimou, valores de coeficientes de correla o simples, comparativamente com a multicolinearidade fraca. Mesmo assim, pode n o ser necessariamente mais precisa, principalmente em virtude da avalia o de um número restrito de variáveis incluídas na análise ou de uma sobreposi o destas variáveis explicativas.
