Abstract: in order for the adoption of advanced manufacturing technology (amt) to provide competitive advantages to the companies, it is necessary to select these technologies according to criteria that consider strategic aspects. the organizational characteristics of a company influence particularly the process of amt adoption, in such a way that it is necessary to develop recommendations for the review of the organizational project. the present work proposes a process for the generation of these recommendations, which through a methodology called 'successive refinements' produces a set of recommendations for the review of the organizational project, based on requirements established by the amt adoption process. these recommendations are a set of decisions that may be taken about the organizational project to adapt them to demands of the new technology to be introduced, in other words, the amt implementation.

Abstract: Para que a ado o de Tecnologia Avan ada da Manufatura (AMT) possa, de fato, proporcionar vantagens competitivas às empresas, faz-se necessário que essas tecnologias sejam selecionadas segundo critérios que considerem aspectos estratégicos. As características organizacionais de uma empresa influenciam sobremaneira o processo de ado o de AMT, de tal forma que se faz necessário desenvolver recomenda es para a revis o do projeto organizacional. O presente trabalho prop e um processo para a gera o de tais recomenda es, através de uma metodologia denominada de "refinamentos sucessivos". Como resultado deste processo de "refinamentos sucessivos" obtém-se um conjunto de recomenda es para a revis o do projeto organizacional, baseados em requisitos estabelecidos pelo processo de ado o de AMT. Essas recomenda es constituem um conjunto de decis es a serem tomadas acerca do projeto organizacional para adequá-lo às demandas de uma nova tecnologia a ser introduzida, ou seja, a implementa o de AMT. Abstract: understanding value creation mechanisms for producing goods and services occupies a special place in enterprises' agenda. the renaissance of resource based theory is a sign of this research intensification, which is focused on organizational resources, capabilities and the role of competences in operations systems value creation. this work develops an integration model based on the intellectual capital concept, to articulate resources, capabilities and competences. the model is built using the resources, capabilities, competences and intellectual capital variables definition, addressing them in their different levels of analysis. the structure of the integration model construction used is based on the skandia navigator model, taking into account their performance dimensions for developing this study. the result is a model that explains the integrative dynamics of resources, capabilities and competences for assessing value creation from the perspective of intellectual capital.

Abstract: organisations are developing an in-dept change process on how they design and implement their business strategies. a special attention is given to knowledge management, as they recognize the potential strategic value that this resource could have. this paper presents the results of a research project, which main goal is to identify and represent the positioning of a set of cooperative organizations related to the adoption of knowledge practices. the results of five case studies are presented; they are defined in a universe of twenty two cooperatives business units in parana south east region. the study presents the development and test of an analysis procedure named 'adoption matrix'. based on results, it is identified the knowledge management functions and practices presence, however, they are incomplete in the sense of a knowledge management model implementation.

Abstract: the real benefits of integration, in an integrated operations system, can only be obtained and recognized if the implemented organizational design and structure are compatible with the introduced change. besides the development of a methodology to drive the design task is needed, including its management and operationalization. from the reference model definition for the organizational design, it is developed the design process rationality. from this rationality and its constituent elements, it is identified a methodological approach that encompass the needed completeness, in the sense to sustain the coherence between the structure and the introduced change, besides being the basis to instrumentalize its operationalization. farther developing the design process rationality, it is pointed out in this work the methodological approach identification, that not only is used to source the organizational design task with the required process management that guides its operationalization, but also serves as a strategy to refine and to validate the model. this methodology contributes to the construction of a organizational design theory to organizational systems, particularly the integrated operations systems.

Abstract: A compreens o dos mecanismos de cria o de valor na produ o de bens ou servi os tem ocupado um lugar especial na agenda das empresas. O renascimento da Teoria Baseada em Recursos é um sinal da intensifica o desta busca, em que se procura identificar o papel dos recursos, capacita es e competências na cria o de valor nos sistemas de opera es. Este trabalho desenvolve um modelo fundamentado no conceito de capital intelectual para articular recursos, capacita es e competências organizacionais. O modelo é construído a partir das defini es das variáveis recursos, capacita es, competências e capital intelectual, trabalhando esses elementos em seus diferentes níveis de análise. A estrutura utilizada para a constru o do modelo de integra o fundamenta-se no modelo do navegador Skandia, apropriando-se das suas dimens es de desempenho para fins de desenvolvimento deste trabalho. O resultado é um modelo que explica a dinamica de integra o de recursos, capacita es e competências para a avalia o da cria o de valor na forma de capital intelectual. Abstract: O estudo de temas relacionados à produtividade ocupa um lugar de destaque na agenda estratégica das empresas desde a gênese dos modelos de produ o em massa. Vários modelos, processos e técnicas vêm sendo desenvolvidos com o propósito de melhorar os atuais níveis de desempenho das organiza es. O conceito de produtividade evoluiu de uma abordagem unidimensional para um enfoque sistêmico, no entanto as diferentes técnicas desenvolvidas para a sua mensura o tratam de dimens es específicas. Há, portanto, a necessidade de se integrar tais técnicas em um modelo de gest o pela produtividade sistêmica, o que constitui o principal objetivo deste artigo. Partindo da constru o de um conjunto de determinantes teóricos que representam a produtividade sistêmica, desenvolveu-se um processo para a sua mensura o utilizando-se como metodologia a abordagem por processos de Cambridge. Tal processo foi refinado via entrevistas e é ilustrado por um caso de simula o. The study of themes related to productivity has occupied a special place in the strategic agenda of enterprises since the beginnings of mass production. Several models, processes and techniques have been developed with the purpose of improving the present performance levels of organizations. The concept of productivity has been following an evolution cycle from one-dimension approach to a systemic view; however, the different techniques used for its measurement are designed only for some of its specific dimensions. There is a need for integrating those techniques through a systemic productivity management model, and this is the main objective of this paper. Starting from a set of theoretical guidelines that represents the systemic productivity management model, a process was developed for its measurement using the Cambridge process approach. This process was refined by interviews with experts and illustrated by a case study simulation.

Abstract: As organiza es est o, hoje, inclusas em ambientes complexos e variáveis que s o definidos pelo mercado que está cada dia mais competitivo. Para sobreviver a esse desafio, as organiza es precisam planejar com responsabilidade, definindo suas estratégia, mantendo controle adequado delas, visando à conquista dos objetivos tra ados. O processo de planejamento e controle pode ser uma tarefa árdua já que a literatura nos apresenta uma diversidade de abordagens que podem ser implementadas, porém, essas abordagens, se forem bem aplicadas, tornam-se aliados da gest o. Partindo deste fator motivacional, valendo-se da revis o teórico conceitual, este artigo apresenta uma compila o das diferentes abordagens utilizadas para planejamento e controle, apresentando uma proposta de classifica o dessas abordagens em grupos de lógicas semelhantes, que, segundo a análise detalhada do método que cada empresa utiliza para planejamento e controle, levou à classifica o em três classes dominantes aqui chamadas de Integra o, Desdobramento e Qualidade, que interagem, mas cada uma com uma lógica própria. De maneira geral, podese afirmar, de forma sintética, que a Integra o tem como principal objeto a utiliza o de softwares. O Desdobramento apresenta uma divis o de metas a serem atingidas, enquanto a Qualidade utiliza-se de conceitos de gerenciamento da qualidade para o controle. Agora, com seu desenvolvimento completo, apresenta-se o framework, que é uma importante contribui o para a Teoria de Engenharia de Produ o e Gest o de Opera es, pois o mapeamento de grupos lógicos de planejamento e controle proporciona uma coerente aplica o na gest o de manufatura e servi os, pois as organiza es sempre buscam por uma estratégia competitiva, porém, é necessária uma implanta o bem sucedida para obter os resultados esperados.
A discussion about the strategic role of the Lean Production Model

Abstract: Operations have been playing an important role for building organizations’ competitiveadvantage. However, in many situations, production strategy is not perfectly aligned tobusiness strategy neither well implemented, thus the manufacturing potential is not fullyexplored. Sometimes, it is observed that the focus of the production strategy actions arebased on improvement programs, which not always contribute to competitive advantageconstruction neither enhance its sustainability in a long term perspective. Considering thatmanufacturing strategy formulation and implementation is an important step to establish theoperations and competitive priorities alignment, the present paper proposes a theoreticalframework related to production strategy model. This study is limited to organizations that areapplying lean production techniques. A theoretical analysis of lean production concepts as amodel for operations strategy realization is developed. Content and process of the leanproduction model are considered under these perspectives. The approach adopted is relatedto three paradigms of manufacturing strategy: Strategic Choices, Competing throughManufacturing and Best Practices. Finally, it is possible to demonstrate that the leanproduction can be considered a model for production strategy realization.
Study of different logics of Planning and Control - a contribution to the strategic management of operations

Abstract: Organisations are today, included in complex environments and variables that are defined by the market that is increasingly competitive. To survive to this challenge, organizations need to plan with responsibility, outlining its strategy, while maintaining appropriate control of them, seeking the conquest of the goals set out. The process of planning and control can be an arduous task since the literature is presenting a diversity of approaches that can be implemented, however, these approaches, if well implemented, become allies of management. Starting from this motivational factor, it is worth reviewing the conceptual theory, this paper presents a compilation of different approaches used for planning and control, presenting a proposal for classification of these approaches in groups of similar logic, which, according to the detailed analysis of each method that company uses for planning and control, led to the classification into three dominant classes here called Integration, and Quality Breakdown, which interact, but each with a logic of its own. In general, you can say, in summary form, that the integration is to object the use of software. The Breakdown presents a division of targets to be met, while the quality, is used in terms of managing for quality control. Now, with its full development, is the framework, which is an important contribution to the theory of Engineering and Production Management Operations, as the mapping of logical groups of planning and control provides a consistent application in the management of manufacturing and services Because the organization when looking for a competitive strategy, however, we need a successful deployment to obtain the expected results.
