Guimar?es, Jorge Augusto Nunes;Victor, Edgar Guimar?es;Leite, Maria do Rosário de Britto;Gomes, José Maria Pereira;Victor Filho, Edgar;Reyes Liveras, Jesus;
Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0066-782X2000000400001
Abstract: objective: evaluation of inter and intraobserver reproducibility of by the visual method interpretation of cineangiogram in a clinically based context. methods: five interventional cardiologists analyzed 11 segments of 8 coronary cineangiograms at a two month apart sessions. the percent luminal reduction by the lesions were analyzed by two different classifications: in one (a) the lesions were graded in 0% = absent, 1-50% = mild, 51 - 69 = moderate, and 3 70% = severe; the other classification (b) was a dichotomic one : <70% = nonsignificant and 3 70%=significant lesions. the agreement were measured by the kappa (k) index. results: interobserver agreement was moderate for classification a (1st measurement, k = 0.36 ? 0.63, km = 0.49; 2nd measurement, k = 0.39-0.68, km = 0.52) and good for classification b (1st measurement, k = 0.55-0.73, km = 0.63; 2nd measurement, k = 0.37-0.82, km = 0.61). intraobserver levels of agreement were k = 0.57-0.95 for classification a and 0.62-1.0 for classification b. conclusion: the higher level of reproducibility obtained by adopting the dichotomous criteria usually considered for ischemic limits demonstrates that in the present clinical context, the reliability of the simple visual method is adequate for the identification of patients with clinically significant lesions and candidates for myocardial revascularization procedures.
Homomorphisms of ergodic group actions and conjugacy of skew product actions
Edgar N. Reyes
International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 1996, DOI: 10.1155/s0161171296001081
Abstract: Let G be a locally compact group acting ergodically on X. We discuss relationships between homomorphisms on the measured groupoid X —G, conjugacy of skew product extensions, and similarity of measured groupoids. To do this, we describe the structure of homomorphisms on X —G whose restriction to an extension given by a skew product action is the trivial homomorphism.
Effect of Antagonists and Plant Extracts in the Control of Protea Wilt (F. oxysporum)  [PDF]
Edgar Martínez Granja, Sergio Reyes Benitez, Danny Sanjuanello
American Journal of Plant Sciences (AJPS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ajps.2014.521336
Abstract:

In laboratory experiments were evaluated TRICHOD®, FOLIGUARD®, Trichoderma sp, and watery extracts of pine, marigold and eucalyptus, respectively, against F. oxysporum. There were no significant differences between TRICHOD® and FOLIGUARD®. The extract of marigold of 120 g/L was the best result in reducing the area of the colony of F. oxysporum. In field pots experiment were evaluated the extract of marigold (120 g/L), potassium phosphite (400 g/L), TRICHOD and benomyl (1.5 g/L) to control F. oxysporum. Treatments were applied to the soil, 15 days after inoculation with F. oxysporum. The best obtained heights were of 32 cm with extract of marigold 120 g/L, followed by potassium phosphite with 31 cm, and the control reached 26 cm of height. The treatment with an extract of marigold 120 g/L, obtained the best dry weight average of 6.5 g, statistically different from the control. The extract of marigold presented the best efficiency against the disease, because it reduced the length of the vascular symptom in 88.5%; followed by

De los acuerdos a los consensos From Agreements to Consensus
Edgar Cortés-Reyes
In the light of the diversity and complexity of medical knowledge and considering the lack of sufficient evidence for health-related decision-making, medical professionals usually seek agreements. Though it may seem an apparently simple task, the idea is to understand that this is a high-level process. Assuming consensus is a rigorous multidisciplinary research methodology that, in addition to overcoming any conceptual gaps, systematically generates new knowledge via formal rounds of consultation. This article is intended to set forth a position with regards to the rigorous approach followed for health related consensus. A popular methodology is discussed - Delphi - identifying its advantages and steps followed, including its modifications and uses according to the researchers' needs and resources, keeping in mind the importance of considering the final result expressed in the recommendations in terms of its fundamental impact on health related issues.
El lado oscuro en las prácticas de responsabilidad social corporativa del sector floricultor
Valero,Edgar Augusto; Camacho Reyes,Karina;
Innovar , 2006,
Abstract: colombian floriculture is mainly located on the savannah of bogotá; it has maintained an important presence in international markets for several decades. such link with globalisation has placed sector entrepreneurs within a scenario which has led to frequent questioning and discussion concerning work and environmental problems arising from their processes. advances have thus been made in trying to establish corporate social responsibility practices such as codes of behaviour and guarantees of quality. considering the sector's working situation, it could be supposed that these practices would have contributed towards some type of improvement. however, only limited advances have been made due to a simply defensive approach being adopted and emphasis being placed on managing the image arising from these activities within a context emphasising a marked orientation towards cost flexibility and the lack of recognising the workers predominates, accompanied by the lack of social dialogue.

Revista da Micro e Pequena Empresa , 2011,
Abstract: O presente estudo analisa as formas pelas quais as rela es sociais em arranjos de empresas ocorrem, visando estratégias relacionais para a cria o de conhecimento.
Reyes Junior, Edgar,De Lourdes Borges, Maria
REDES : Revista Hispana para el Análisis de Redes Sociales , 2008,
Abstract: Different scientist tried to explain the dynamics of small groups. This paper present the application of Ucinet 6.o and Pajek 1.10 for getting a “cartography” of two academic groups with the aim of showing how the structure of relationships affects the academic outcomes. Through a survey applied to one group of undergraduate students and other group of graduate students (both in Management sciences) and the analysis of the pattern of relationships we found that more central students had better results that the periferic ones. This finding suggests the possibility of using social network analysis as a tool for student’s assessment.
Quintessence interacting dark energy from induced matter theory of gravity
L. M. Reyes,Jose Edgar Madriz Aguilar
Physics , 2009,
Abstract: In the context of the induced matter theory of gravity, we investigate the possibility of deriving a 4D quintessential scenario where an interaction between dark energy and dark matter is allowed, and the dark energy component is modeled by a minimally coupled scalar field. Regarding the Ponce de Leon metric, we found that it is possible to obtain such scenario on which the energy densities of dark matter and dark energy, are both depending of the fifth extra coordinate. We obtain that the 4D induced scalar potential for the quintessence scalar field, has the same algebraic form to the one found by Zimdahl and Pavon in the context of usual 4D cosmology.
Embedding General Relativity with varying cosmological constant term in five-dimensional Brans-Dicke theory of gravity in vacuum
L. M. Reyes,Jose Edgar Madriz Aguilar
Physics , 2009,
Abstract: We investigate the possibility to recover a four-dimensional (4D) general theory of relativity, as embedded in a 5D spacetime where gravity is governed by a five-dimensional (5D) Brans-Dicke (BD) theory of gravity. Employing the Gauss-Codazzi-Ricci equations and some ideas of the induced matter theory, we obtain that when the 5D BD scalar field is only depending of the extra coordinate, it is possible to recover on every generic 4D hypersurface the usual Einstein field equations plus a cosmological constant term, with matter sources described by the energy-momentum tensor of induced matter and where the cosmological constant under certain conditions can vary with time. Finally to illustrate the formalism, we give an example in which we induced a cosmological constant from warped product spaces.

Revista MVZ Córdoba , 2010,
Abstract: objective. to propose a methodology that identifies the nr2b subunit through the use of conantokin g, as well as an adequate extraction of the nr2b subunit. materials and methods. two methodologies were tested for the extraction of the nr2b subunit of the adult rat, the first one sought the extraction of the subunit through a membrane by using sodium deoxicolate; and the second, guaranteed the solubilization and elimination of cytoplasmic proteins, in order to later extract the subunit through the use of the same detergent from the pellet resulting from the centrifugation of the obtained extract. additionally, the conantokin g was biotynilated in order to evaluate its efficiency to identify the subunit and to compare the results obtained from traditional methodologies such as dot-blot, western-blot, elisa and immunohistochemical. results. the second methodology showed a greater extraction of nr2b, thus it was chosen for the subsequent extracts. the identification tests with biotynilated conantokin showed interference in recognition, thus, it was necessary identify the subunit nr2b through the use of the polyclonal antibodies mentioned in the tests. conclusions. an impediment of esteric character is proposed in marking the conantokin with the biotin, which does not favor the interaction of this peptide with the subunit.
