This article reflects on the relationship between political marketing and voting behavior. Since knowledge about voting behavior is critical to the success of political campaigns, this reflection aims to illustrate the relationship between theories of political science and voting behavior and review strategic political marketing and its applicability in the context of election campaigns. The discussion is based on literature references in the area of communication and political science. Initially, the paper presents an analysis of the theoretical and conceptual aspects of political marketing. Next, it presents the schools of voting behavior and their main characteristics. The end is a discussion of marketing strategies in political campaigns. We assert that the different theories about voting behavior contribute to the analysis of individuals, groups, and social classes, and to the challenges of politics in contemporary society. In multiparty systems, as is the case of Brazil, the political marketing strategies require a pluralistic approach to instill the knowledge necessary to understand the political process such as it is established within the capit
Carneiro, M.E.;Daemon, E.;
Arquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-09352003000500010
Abstract: this work was carried out in order to verify the effect of three temperatures (18, 27 and 32°c) on cellular types present in rhipicephalus sanguineus (latreille, 1806) larva and nymph hemolymph. six cellular types were found in the hemolymph: prohemocytes (pr), plasmatocytes (pl), granulocytes (gr), spherulocytes (es), adipohemocytes (ad) and oenocytoids (oe), being the es divided into two subtypes (es i and es ii). effect of temperature was more intense in the larva stage in which a gr leukopenia and es ii leukocytosis occurred at 18°c. at 27 and 32°c the amount of these cells was similar, being the gr the most abundant cell type. this indicates the participation of these cells in the metabolism of this stage. it was also the most abundant cell type found in the nymphs, however, without the occurrence of marked variations among the distinct temperatures. this indicates that each development stage presents a specific metabolic need, which is expressed by the cell types present in the hemolymph. in some cases, the presence os cells is independent on the temperature.

Obtaining pressure versus concentration phase diagrams in spin systems from Monte Carlo simulations
Carlos E. Fiore,C. E. I. Carneiro
Physics , 2008, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevE.76.021118
Abstract: We propose an efficient procedure for determining phase diagrams of systems that are described by spin models. It consists of combining cluster algorithms with the method proposed by Sauerwein and de Oliveira where the grand canonical potential is obtained directly from the Monte Carlo simulation, without the necessity of performing numerical integrations. The cluster algorithm presented in this paper eliminates metastability in first order phase transitions allowing us to locate precisely the first-order transitions lines. We also produce a different technique for calculating the thermodynamic limit of quantities such as the magnetization whose infinite volume limit is not straightforward in first order phase transitions. As an application, we study the Andelman model for Langmuir monolayers made of chiral molecules that is equivalent to the Blume-Emery-Griffiths spin-1 model. We have obtained the phase diagrams in the case where the intermolecular forces favor interactions between enantiomers of the same type (homochiral interactions). In particular, we have determined diagrams in the surface pressure versus concentration plane which are more relevant from the experimental point of view and less usual in numerical studies.
Biological characterization of Trypanosoma cruzi strains from different zymodemes and schizodemes

Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1991, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761991000400002
Abstract: the development in c3h mice of thirteen strains of trypanosoma cruzi belonging to different zymodemes ans schizodemes was studied. host mortality, virulence, histiotropism, parasitemia and polymorphism of the parasites were recorded. the strains were grouped into: a) high virulence - causing 100% mortality and characterized by predominance of bery broad trypomastigotes in the bloodstream at the end of infection; b) medium virulence - causing no mortality and with a predominance of broad trypomastigotes; c) low virulence - causing no mortality with blood forms not described due to the very low parasitemia. during 18 months maintenance the parasitemia curves were kept constant for all strains except one. a direct correlation between either zymodeme or schizodeme and experimental biological properties of t. cruzi strains was not found. however, the parasitemia was subpatent and patent for strains from zymodeme c and the others respectively. furthermore the high virulence seems to be related to one of two shizodemes found within zymodeme b strains. all strains presenting patent parasitemia independent of shizodeme and ymodeme showed a myotropism towards heart and skeletal muscle with varible inflammatory intensity. the present study confirmed the heterogeneity found by isoenzyme and k-dna patterns among the strains of t. cruzi isolated from chagasic patients in bambuí, minas gerais state, brasil.
Exact solutions of Brans-Dicke cosmology and the cosmic coincidence problem
Carneiro, S.;Montenegro Jr., A. E.;
Brazilian Journal of Physics , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-97332005000700009
Abstract: we present some cosmological solutions of brans-dicke theory, characterized by a decaying vacuum energy density and by a constant relative matter density. with these features, they shed light on the cosmological constant problems, leading to a presently small vacuum term, and to a constant ratio between the vacuum and matter energy densities. by fixing the only free parameter of our solutions, we obtain cosmological parameters in accordance with observations of the relative matter density, the universe age and redshift-distance relations.

Prim@ Facie , 2002,
