Surface Properties and Compatibility with Blood of New Quaternized Polysulfones  [PDF]
Raluca Marinica Albu, Ecaterina Avram, Iuliana Stoica, Emil Ghiocel Ioanid, Dumitru Popovici, Silvia Ioan
Journal of Biomaterials and Nanobiotechnology (JBNB) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/jbnb.2011.22015
Abstract: The paper describes some properties of new quaternized polysulfones obtained by quaternization of chloromethylated polysulfone with different tertiary amines - N,N-dimethylethylamine and N,N-dimethyloctylamine. Hydrophilic/hydrophobic properties, morphological aspects and compatibility with red blood cells and platelets are affected by the alkyl radicals and by history of the formed films. The results obtained are useful in biomedical applications, including evaluation of bacterial adhesion to the surfaces, or utilization of modified polysulfones as semipermeable membranes.
The Electromagnetic Field absorber in microwave Owens
Diana Popovici,Ovidiu Popovici
Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering , 2008,
Abstract: The heating process of the dielectric materialsusing microwave depends of the absorbing wavesproperties. In order to increase the temperature in themicrowave owens, we can use a heat transformer made bya good absorber ceramic.
High Temperatures in Microwaves ovens using 3 microwaves energy sources
Ovidiu Popovici,Diana Popovici
Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering , 2008,
Abstract: Heating of ceramics need high temperatures, over 1000o C that can be obtained by using severalmicrowaves energy sources in the furnaces. Thepositioning of the magnetrons in 3 different plans offersthe possibility to increase the power and the temperature.
Microwave versus Radiofrequency in drying dielectric materials
Ovidiu Popovici,Diana Popovici
Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering , 2009,
Abstract: The method of drying by microwaves andthe method using the radiofrequency can be comparedfrom the point of view of their quality and efficiency, inview of facilitating the choice of drying method used.

Dyson-Schwinger approach to strongly coupled theories
Popovici, Carina
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2013,
Abstract: Although nonperturbative functional methods are often associated with low energy Quantum Chromodynamics, contemporary studies indicate that they provide reliable tools to characterize a much wider spectrum of strongly interacting many-body systems. In this review, we aim to provide a modest overview on a few notable applications of Dyson-Schwinger equations to QCD and condensed matter physics. After a short introduction, we lay out some formal considerations and proceed by addressing the confinement problem. We discuss in some detail the heavy quark limit of Coulomb gauge QCD, in particular the simple connection between the nonperturbative Green's functions of Yang-Mills theory and the confinement potential. Landau gauge results on the infrared Yang-Mills propagators are also briefly reviewed. We then focus on less common applications, in graphene and high-temperature superconductivity. We discuss recent developments, and present theoretical predictions that are supported by experimental findings.
STUDY REGARDING THE IMPACT OF THE COACH’S PERSONALITY OVER THE EVOLUTION OF ATHLETES
Ileana POPOVICI
Sport si Societate : Revista de Educatie Fizica, Sport si Stiinte Conexe , 2011,
Abstract: The coach represents and remains a model for the athlete, even if certain aspects of one’s behaviour havechanged depending on the demands and evolution of that specific sport. The responsibilities which are specific to thecoach are bigger now, becoming more and more complex. Moreover, the coach is an important factor for sportsperformance, together with the athlete’s efforts. The objective of the present paper is the investigation of coach’s features of personality, of one’s abilities and roleswhile obtaining performance at athletes aged between 16-18, pupils at The Highschool with Sports Program of Ia i (90subjects: 30 from football, 30 from handball and 30 from athletics). Reseach hypothesis: a) performance athletesappreciate personality features associated with positive features of coaches and also aspects which are connected to thecoach’s activity; b) performance athletes who practice different sports (football, handball, athletics) differently perceivepersonality features of coaches and their activity.Knowing the personality of the coach is very important, first of all due to the need of forming specialistsaccording to the needs of the upgraded model for athletes capable of performance and high performance, secondly forthe fact that the coach is the educator who should form the athlete, the coach is responsible for sportive performance.
The Impact of the Health Care System Reform on the Romanian Nurses Professionalization Process
Silvia POPOVICI
Postmodern Openings , 2012,
Abstract: The Romanian health sector went through a process of reform began in 2000 which entered into a final adjustment phase in 2010 when the economic crisis, the health professionals accelerated trend of labour migration, the precarious health of the population brought new challenges to the unsolved existing problems. Nurses are numerically the most important category of health professionals. Since 1994 they experienced a convergent movement of professionalization in the interior of the nurse profession. The aim of the study is to explore the nurses’ perceptions of the impact of the health care system reform on their own profession and on the internal process of professionalization. As a result a quantitative research was conducted on a sample including 411 nurses of different specialties working in Iasi county. The results of the research point out the significant impact of factors related to the reform of the health care system on the quality of the care process, on the nurses’ work conditions and professional satisfaction. The external disruptive factors produce negative effects on nurses’ group cohesion, despite the centripetal efforts of the professional organization and induce a slowdown movement of the nurses professionalization process.
THE DYNAMICS OF THE ROMANIAN UNIVERSITIES GRADUATES NUMBER IN THE 2005-2010 PERIOD
Popovici Adina
Annals of the University of Oradea : Economic Science , 2011,
Abstract: In the context of the European single market, where information, capitals, persons, goods and services circulate free and fast, where economic rationality is different at the global level from the national one, radical mutations occur in each member state's strategy with regard to the educational system. Therefore, the Romanian educational system, especially the Romanian higher education must correlate the graduates number with the Romanian and EU labour force requirements, and take into account the necessities imposed by the participation at international competition. On the other hand, a country's economic and social development level depends very much on its citiyens' educational level, especially in nowadays knowledge-based society, which is a society of life-long-learning.
Cultural Capital Accumulation Mechanisms and Their Effects on the Professional Habitus of Romanian Nurses
Silvia POPOVICI
Revista Romaneasca pentru Educatie Multidimensionala , 2012,
Abstract: Limited resources and no research exist on the Romanian nursing educational programs during the last decades and on the consequences of the educational changes for the nurses profession and for the medical field. This qualitative research focuses on various forms of formal education that nurses attended in order to obtain professional competences in the last 70 years. The participants to the study were 10 senior nurses and leaders in nursing education from Iasi county and from national level with more than 20 years of clinical practice or involvement in negotiating nursing education in various phases. The study also investigated the characteristics of the social actors in relation to the mechanisms of constructing the cultural and professional habitus and acquiring cultural capital, the impact of the diversity of scolarization forms on the nurses collective identity and group cohesion, as well as the implications on the medical field from the theoretical perspectives of Pierre Bourdieu and Claude Dubar. The findings of this research may shed further light on the effects produced by the changing contemporary nursing education on the reconfiguration of the clinical practice and on the autonomy and internal coherence and cohesiveness of the nurses professional group.
