Future Electricity Production from Geothermal Resources Using Oil and Gas Wells  [PDF]

Abstract: Various under-developed countries are not capable to accomplish its domestic energy requirements and are undergoing sensitive energy crises. Electricity Sector has been most suffered due to the energy shortage. Geothermal power production is capable to fulfill the electricity demand of different countries. Geothermal power plant can use water from an aquifer at moderately higher temperature and produce power using dry steam, flashing or binary cycle. Traditionally, geothermal energy has been exploited in places with plentiful hot water at relatively shallow depth. There are several high gradient geothermal resources available in the world but without the presence of aquifer it is impossible to utilize these resources. It is still unknown how to generate power by using dry rock resources. We aimed to focus on the way to generate electricity by utilizing the dry rock resources. This way of electricity generation will be cost effectively and can produce electricity on constant or permanent basis. Current study lead a new direction that how abandoned oil and gas wells are helpful to overcome the energy crises and have ability to generate the cheap electricity for a long term period. This study discusses the power generation system for commercial electricity production. Three different source temperatures (142°C, 157°C, and 177°C) were considered. Optimal working fluid and optimal design that improve the performance of plant are determined. Here we saw that a 12 inch double-pipe heat exchanger, which penetrates to a depth of 3 km, could extract sufficient energy to drive a 3.2 MW turbine generator system.

Abstract: Retail internationalization has received increasing attention due to its popularity as a business practice. Previous studies have focused on two main factors in the process of retail internationalization: resources and environment. In the resources category, one of the key factors that has been extensively studied is social capital [1]. And in the environment category, one of the most influential environmental factors is cultural distance and its consequence, psychic distance [2]. However, few studies have investigated social capital from the consumers’ perspective and considered the influence of psychic distance perceived by international retailers’ targeted consumers in the host market on their acceptance. This study aims to investigate how to decrease consumers’ psychic distance to obtain initial acceptance from the targeted consumers in the host country. Previous studies have found that perception is shaped through experience [3,4]. Therefore, the main argument in our study is that international businesses should focus on experiential marketing to reduce consumers’ psychic distance. In order to understand this argument in the host market competition, experiential marketing strategies in the domestic businesses framework, as well as in the international businesses framework, will be compared.

Using the method of lower and upper solutions, we study the following singular nonlinear three-point boundary value problems:\"\" , where K ∈ C[0,1] ,0 < α <1 , 0 < η < 1 and λ is a positive parameter and present the existence, uniqueness, and the dependency on parameters of the positive solutions under various assumptions. Our result improves those in the previous literatures.

Abstract: A novel design and implementation of frequency superposition testing power supply for induction motor is proposed. An equivalent power using dynamic space voltage vector synthesis is generated to replace the two separate powers of the traditional method. The principle of frequency superposition testing is firstly introduced, and then the detailed design and implementation of the digital frequency superposition power are given. The simulation of the power supply system shows the promising results. Finally, experimental results validate the feasibility and reliability of the proposed power.
Selection of Inbred Lines for Breeding of Maize with High Efficiency in Iron Utilization  [PDF]

Crops are often subjected to iron(Fe)-deficiency due to the limited solubility of this essential element in most neutral or basic soils. Developing cultivars with high efficiency in Fe utilization via breeding programs can provide solutions to this problem as a long term strategy. In the present study, to select inbred lines for breeding of maize with high efficiency in Fe utilization, we screened 123 inbred lines at the seedling stage by analyzing secretion pattern of phytosiderophores, a class of non-protein amino acids released by graminaceous species for Fe utilization, using high-performance liquid chromatography. One hundred and twenty three inbred lines were clustered into nine groups. The low PS secretion rate under Fe-sufficient condition and high PS secretion rate increment after Fe-deficiency treatment type were the ideal inbred lines for breeding of maize with high efficiency in Fe utilization.

Abstract: Resveratrol (3,5,4’-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene, RV) is a kind of phytoalexin found in many kinds of plants and food. As a natural antioxidant, RV shows significant biological activity, including anti-tumor activity, antitubulin activity, cardiovascular disease resistance activity, etc. Many experiments confirm that resveratrol displays a wide range of beneficial effects on human diseases including heart disease and cancer, especially in the treatment of central nervous system disease, such as Huntington’s disease (HD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). This paper summarizes the positive effects of RV on several central nervous system diseases.

Internet word-of-mouth (WOM) has a powerful impact on the consumer information search process. However, richness in information causes information overload. Consumers are not able to efficiently find the information they need among numerous and often redundant WOM postings and forums. As consumers become knowledgeable about WOM outlets, they may lower their search cost as they learn what kind of information to expect on various WOM forums. This conceptual paper develops research propositions to explain: 1) types of information consumers expect to see on different types of WOM forums, and 2) how expectations relate to satisfaction with WOM information and forums.

Abstract: Resveratrol is a kind of polyphenolic compound that widely exists in plants and has extensive physiological pharmacological function and is very useful for human health. For the mechanism of action and function of RV, people are doing a variety of groundbreaking researches. Results show that the molecular mechanism of RV is embodied in aspects such as oxidative stress and diseases of neuropathy, anti-oxygenation and pro-oxidant effect and RV target molecule, etc. This article mainly summarized the mechanism of action of resveratrol in these aspects.
