Abstract: Intrathoracic mesothelial cysts are congenital lesions due to an abnormal development of the pericardial coelom. They are generally unilocular and can develop in various sites. We describe a case of multicystic lesions in the anterior mediastinum of a 53-year-old woman discovered in a context of an encysted pleural effusion. Chest computed tomography (CT) scan revealed multiple cystic lesions in the anterior and posterior mediastinum. Surgery was carried out and histopathology and immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of multiple coelomic cysts of the mediastinum.

Abstract: Papilloma is a rare benign tumor. Laryngeal location is the most frequent. The bronchial involvement remains unusual. It represents 0.38% of pulmonary tumors. We report the case of a 39-year-old, smoker man, who consulted for a cough following during six months with persistent radiological opacity despite antibiotic treatment. The physical examination was without particularities. Flexible bronchoscopy revealed a swollen endobronchial lesion completely obstructing the orifice of the intermediate trunk. Bronchial biopsies at this level showed inflammatory mucosa. The chest CT scan objectified an endobronchial tissular mass in the intermediate trunk. Pulmonary neoplasia was suspected. Diagnostic and therapeutic surgery was performed. Histopathological examination concluded to an endobronchial squamous papilloma.

Abstract: We consider the harmonic analysis associated with the Dunkl operators on Rd. We study the Dunkl mean-periodic functions on the space ε(Rd) (the space of C-functions). We characterize also the continuous linear mappings from ε(Rd) into itself which commute with the Dunkl operators.

Abstract: In this work an impedimetric immunosensor based on affinity immobilization method of a biotin labelled anti-human IgG antibody, used as a model system, was reported. The experimental procedure involves the growth of a self-assembled monolayer of a thiol (cysteamine) carrying terminal amine groups on gold electrodes. Glutarardehyde, a homobifunctional cross-linker, was used as a coupling reagent for the covalent linking of avidin to the amine groups of cysteamine. The attachment of the biotin labeled antibodies (anti-Human IgG) to the subsequent modified gold electrode was achieved by affinity interactions tacking advantage of the strong avidin-biotin bridge. The stepwise assembly process of the electrode was interrogated by means of cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and contact angle measurements. The response of the antibody modified electrode to their target antigens was investigated in the presence of BSA (bovin serum albumin) in order to alleviate non-specific adsorption problems. A proposed electrical model was used to analyse the experimental data. The resulting immunosensor has a linear dynamic range of 100 - 900 ng?ml1 of antigen and a detection limit of 100 ng?ml1.
Hydrochemical and Isotopic Study of Groundwater in the North Djeffara Aquifer, Gulf of Gabès, Southern Tunisia  [PDF]

The northern Djeffara aquifer system is located in the southeast ofTunisiaand extends over an area of400 km2. This multilayer system of aquifers is essentially recharged by infiltration of rain and by groundwater of the Continental Inter-calaire aquifer, and occurs mainly at two levels between 0 and180 mdepth that belong to the Mio-Pliocene to form the aquifers. A combined hydrogeologic and isotopic investigation using several chemical and isotopic tracers’, i.e., major ions, δ18O, δ2H and tritium, was carried out in order to determine the sources of water recharge to the aquifer and the origin of salinity. The results of geochemical and isotopic studies show that the groundwater in the south of the study area represents a mixture of the Djeffara aquifer groundwater and locally infiltrates modern recharge. In the northern part, the groundwater which resembles that of the Sekhira aquifer originates from locally infiltrated rain and runoff. The salinity of the groundwater is caused by dissolution of evaporate rocks (gypsum and halite minerals) in the aquifer system. The stable isotopes data do not support the hypothesis of mixing with seawater.

Epistasis and genotype-by-environment interaction of grain protein content in durum wheat

Abstract: parental, f1, f2, bc1 and bc2 generations of four crosses involving four cultivars of durum wheat (triticum durum desf.) were evaluated at two sites in tunisia. a three-parameter model was found inadequate for all cases except crosses chili x cocorit 71 at site sidi thabet and inrat 69 x karim at both sites. in most cases a digenic epistatic model was sufficient to explain variation in generation means. dominance effects (h) and additive x additive epistasis (i) (when significant) were more important than additive (d) effects and other epistatic components. considering the genotype-by-environment interaction, the non-interactive model (m, d, h, e) was found adequate. additive variance was higher than environmental variance in three crosses at both sites. the estimated values of narrow-sense heritability were dependent upon the cross and the sites and were 0%-85%. the results indicate that appropriate choice of environment and selection in later generations would increase grain protein content in durum wheat.

Abstract: We study the problem of scheduling multi sensors to visit and observe a group of sites at discrete time points over a planning horizon of given length. We show that scheduling under a given number of visits for each site and in each period is an NP-complete problem by providing equivalence with a problem in discrete tomography. We also give a polynomial time algorithm to schedule the sensors under a given number of visits in each period.

Effect of Annealing on the Structural and Optical Properties of CuIn1–xAlxS2 thin Films  [PDF]

Abstract: The effects of annealing of CuIn1–xAlxS2thin films for different temperature, which were grown by thermal evaporation, were investigated through X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS) and optical absorption measurements. Post growth was used to modify the structural and optical properties of the CIAS thin films. Then it realized in three different temperatures 250, 300 and 400℃. It is found that significant difference of the transparent films in function of annealing temperature. The FWHM in the X-ray diffraction pattern is found to decrease with an increase in annealing temperature indicating that the crystalline nature of the CIAS improves with increase in annealing temperature. The position of the (112) peak and other peaks in the X-ray diffraction pattern has been observed to shift to higher values of 2θ with the increase of gallium concentration. We demonstrate a significant enhancement of the interdiffusion in the dot thin film.
