HISTORIA DE LA POLICíA Y DEL EJERCICIO DEL CONTROL SOCIAL EN COLOMBIA
Dayana Becerra
Prolegómenos. Derechos y Valores , 2010,

Abstract: the bromeliads present exotic forms with a great variety of colors and flowers and are considered as important species used in landscape design and floriculture. as a consequence, these species are well commercialized. however, a part of these plants still come from natural extraction. this situation is also a consequence of the reduced technical information regarding its propagation and development. one of the limitations is the lack of knowledge regarding the type of substrate and adequate fertilizer for its cultivation. the objective of this study was to evaluate the development of neoregelia cultivated in different substrates and leaf fertilizers through the variables height, leaf number and fresh and dry matter of shoots and roots. the plantlets used were produced by tissue culture. after a period of pre-acclimatization, the plantlets were transferred to a green house without nebulization. the substrates consisted of different proportions of soil, sand and carbonized rice husk and a commercial substrate composed of vermiculite. leaf fertilizers were applied to the substrates combining urea and sucrose in intervals of fifteen days. the results showed that the interactions of the substrates and the sucrose and urea dosages had no effect on height and leaf number. the use of sucrose also showed no influence on plant development. the commercial substrate composed of vermiculite, independent of the leaf fertilizer application, showed the best results for plant height and leaf number. the use of urea presented a crescent linear effect during the evaluated period.

Labori Pineda,Dayana;
MEDISAN , 2012,
Abstract: a case-control study was carried out in order to identify the risk factors for oral leukoplakia in people over 60 years, belonging to "30 de noviembre" polyclinic of santiago de cuba from september 2009 to july 2010. two groups were divided: one of 13 members with a confirmed diagnosis of this condition (cases) and the other with 26 of the same community (control) that were selected at a rate of 1:2, according to age and sex. to determine the statistical association odds ratio was used and criteria of causation were taken into account. risk factors associated with oral leukoplakia were smoking habit, alcohol consumption and presence of sharp edges in the prosthesis.
Development and validation of a clinical score for prognosis stratification in patients requiring antiretroviral therapy in sub-Saharan Africa: a prospective open cohort study
R Gerardo, P Dayana
Pan African Medical Journal , 2011,
Abstract: Background: Mortality rates among patients initiating antiretroviral therapy (ART) in sub-Saharan Africa continue high. Also HIV treatment services from the region are affronting the challenges of been attending more patients than never. In this scenario, there are no integrated scoring systems capable of an adequate risk identification/ prognostic stratification among patients requiring ART; in order of optimize actual programmes outcomes. Several independent risk factors at baseline are associated with a poor prognosis after ART initiation. These include: male sex, low body mass index, anemia, low CD4 count and stage-4 WHO disease. The aim of this research was evaluate prospectively a new scoring system composed by these factors. Methods: An open cohort study was conducted in 1769 patients from May 2008 to December 2010 at two HIV clinics of Zimbabwe. A new clinical model (MASIB score) was applied at ART initiation and patients were followed for 4 months. After that, validation characteristics of the score were examined. Results: Patients selected in this cohort exhibited similar baseline characteristics that the patients selected in previous cohorts from the region. Overall performance for mortality prediction of MASIB score was accurate, as reflected by the Brier score test result 0.084 (95%CI: 0.080-0.088). Calibration was adequate taking in consideration a p>0.05 in the Hosmer Lemeshow test and discrimination was also good (Area Under Curve: 0.915, 95%CI: 0,901- 0,928). Conclusion: The new model developed exhibited adequate validation characteristics supporting the clinical use. Further evaluations of this model in others scenarios from the sub-Saharan region are needed.
