Authentic Oral Interaction in the EFL Class: What It Means, What It Does not
Herazo Rivera,José David;
Profile Issues in Teachers` Professional Development , 2010,
Abstract: the communicative approach in efl education has generated a concern for the development of communication in the foreign language classroom within which the promotion of oral interaction is usually paramount. however, what constitutes authentic oral interaction is sometimes not clearly understood and some of the activities that take place in the classroom seem unlikely to generate meaningful opportunities for the development of oral interaction. to address this gap, this paper characterizes four samples of oral communication exchanges that occur in colombian efl secondary school classrooms in monteria and discusses their effectiveness for developing meaningful oral production in both student-student and teacher-student interaction. the paper has two main sections: the first is devoted to the analysis of student-student interaction, and the second to discussing teacherstudent exchanges.
MORFOLOGíA EXTERNA DE LOS ESTADOS INMADUROS DE Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari (COLEOPTERA: CURCULIONIDAE)
Rubio G.,José David;
Revista U.D.C.A Actualidad & Divulgación Científica , 2009,
Abstract: a description of the external morphology of immature stages of the coffee berry borer (egg, larvae and pupae) was made under light microscope; also drawings were prepared of each stage. the results of this study are considered to be useful for research of comparative morphology with related species and increase the knowledge of the morphological characterization of the immature phases of the coffee berry borer. up to now only taxonomic determinations of this insect in adult stage are known, ignoring the importance the conformation, form and segmentation of the immature stages of a pest so limiting in coffee cultivation represent.
DOCTRINE MILITAIRE ET EXERCICE DU POUVOIR POLITIQUE EN AMERIQUE DU SUD: LE ROLE ET L'IMPACT DES ECOLES MILITAIRES BRESILIENNES ET PERUVIENNES
Moreno,José David;
Revista de Relaciones Internacionales, Estrategia y Seguridad , 2012,
Abstract: this paper aims to be an analysis on a special institution: the military academies for officers. considering these as the origin and core of thought and military doctrine, these institutions became strategic thought centers, and for countries like peru and brazil, they will form very professional officers. on the other hand, beyond military sciences, those schools participated in the fields of politics, law and social sciences. consequently, graduate officers were not simple soldiers but they were officers with broad critical posture towards state and society. the hypothesis of this paper is that the high level of military professionalism had a strong impact on the political life of brazil and peru. the military governments of 1964 in brazil and 1968 in peru were influenced by those generations of officers graduated from prestigious and demanding military academies.

To address this gap, this paper characterizes four samples of oral communication exchanges that occur in Colombian EFL secondary school classrooms in Montería and discusses their effectiveness for developing meaningful oral production in both student-student and teacher-student interaction. The paper has two main sections: the first is devoted to the analysis of student-student interaction, and the second to discussing teacherstudent exchanges.

A description of the external morphology of immature stages of the coffee berry borer (egg, larvae and pupae) was made under light microscope; also drawings were prepared of each stage.
Tilted Ekpyrosis
José Fonseca,David Wands
Physics , 2011, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.84.101303
Abstract: We consider a simple model of cosmological collapse driven by canonical fields with exponential potentials. We generalise the two-field ekpyrotic collapse to consider non-orthogonal or tilted potentials and give the general condition for isocurvature field fluctuations to have a scale-invariant spectrum in this model. In particular we show that tilted potentials allow for a slightly red spectrum of perturbations as required by current observations. However a red spectrum of fluctuations implies that the two-field ekpyrotic phase must have a finite duration and requires a preceding phase which sets the initial conditions for what otherwise appears to be a fine-tuned trajectory in the phase space.
