An Entanglement Criterion for States in Infinite Dimensional Bipartite Quantum Systems  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, an entanglement criterion for states in infinite dimensional bipartite quantum systems is presented. We generalize some of separability criterion that was recently introduced by Wu and Anandan in (Phys. Lett. A, 2002, 297, 4-8) to infinite dimensional bipartite quantum systems. In addition, we give an example aimed to illustrate the application of the theorem.

Abstract: In this paper, we consider a class of Sine-Gordon equations which arise from the model of the thermoelastic coupled rod. Firstly, by virtue of the classical semigroup theory, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the mild solution under certain initial-boundary value for above-mentioned equations. Secondly, we obtain the boundedness of solutions by the priori estimates. Lastly, we prove the existence of a global attractor.

Abstract: Simultaneously, considering the viscous effect of material, damping of medium, geometrical nonlinearity, physical nonlinearity, we set up a more general equation of beam subjected to axial force and external load. We prove the existence and uniqueness of global solutions under non-linear boundary conditions which the model is added one damping mechanism at l end. What is more, we also prove the exponential decay property of the energy of above mentioned system.

Abstract: Background: Donor-derived cell free DNA (ddcf DNA) has been reported as a universal noninvasive biomarker for rejection monitoring in heart, kidney, liver, and lung transplantation. Current approaches based on next-generation sequencing for quantification of ddcf DNA, although promising, may be restricted by the requirement for donor material, as donor samples may not be available. Methods: We proposed a novel next-generation sequencing approach without donor-derived material and compared the non-donor-derived approach and the donor-derived approach using simulation testing and 69 clinical specimens. We also evaluated the performance for acute rejection and infection monitoring in lung transplantation. Results: The non-donor-derived approach reached similar efficacy as the donor-derived approach with a significant linear correlation of R2 = 0.98. Subsequent validation in clinical specimens demonstrated significant difference between the acute rejection group (4.83% ± 2.11%, mean ± SD) and the non-rejection group (1.61% ± 0.63%, mean ± SD) (P < 0.0001, Welchs t test). Abstract: This research is inspired by Baumol’s lifetime effort in introducing the entrepreneur to mainstream economics. The paper examines entrepreneurial work and suggests a return to classical economic theory of the entrepreneur in the tradition of Max Weber and Joseph Schumpeter. We assume entrepreneurial work to be the intrinsic character of the entrepreneur, who divides her working time into subsistence and entrepreneurial productions. The entrepreneur taking pleasure from entrepreneurial work is the crucial conjecture of our analytical model. The model predicts 1) maximum utility can be reached if and only if the market value of the marginal product of labor in subsistence production is greater than that in entrepreneurial production; 2) government interventions artificially alternating the price of subsistent production may lead to misallocation of limited labor time into the two productions.

Abstract: Scale problem is one of the central issues in land cover mapping from remote sensing imagery, and downscaling land cover data is a difficulty in this domain. Soft classification can provide more information than hard classification at pixel level. However, the spatial location of land cover compositions within each pixel is unknown. To solve this problem, many super-resolution mapping methods have been developed in recent years. In this paper, a review on recent development of super-resolution mapping methods is presented. The review focuses on the research status, major algorithms and accuracy assessment methods of super-resolution mapping. The main drawbacks, research challenges and future directions of super-resolution mapping are discussed.
Associations between Ionomic Profile and Metabolic Abnormalities in Human Population

Abstract: Background Few studies assessed effects of individual and multiple ions simultaneously on metabolic outcomes, due to methodological limitation. Methodology/Principal Findings By combining advanced ionomics and mutual information, a quantifying measurement for mutual dependence between two random variables, we investigated associations of ion modules/networks with overweight/obesity, metabolic syndrome (MetS) and type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in 976 middle-aged Chinese men and women. Fasting plasma ions were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy. Significant ion modules were selected by mutual information to construct disease related ion networks. Plasma copper and phosphorus always ranked the first two among three specific ion networks associated with overweight/obesity, MetS and T2DM. Comparing the ranking of ion individually and in networks, three patterns were observed (1) “Individual ion,” such as potassium and chrome, which tends to work alone; (2) “Module ion,” such as iron in T2DM, which tends to act in modules/network; and (3) “Module-individual ion,” such as copper in overweight/obesity, which seems to work equivalently in either way. Conclusions In conclusion, by using the novel approach of the ionomics strategy and the information theory, we observed potential associations of ions individually or as modules/networks with metabolic disorders. Certainly, these findings need to be confirmed in future biological studies.
A Simple Method for Analyzing Insect Pheromone at the Nanogram Level by Coupling Headspace Adsorption and Thermal Desorption Injection by Gas Chromatography with a Packed Syringe

Abstract: This paper describes a simple device for analysis of insect pheromones by coupling headspace adsorption and direct nonsolvent thermal desorption injection by gas chromatography (GC). A microsyringe packed with Porapak Q as the adsorbent was mounted in the airway for enriching and collecting pheromones. After collection the microsyringe was inserted into a thermal desorption device which was coupled with a GC inlet port.The pheromone desorbed from the adsorbent was condensed on the cold head of the GC column and injected into the column by quickly increasing the temperature of the column oven. The synthetic compounds of insect pheromones, E -7-dodecyl acetate(E-7-DA) and Z -5, E -7-dodecadienyl acetate(Z -5, E -7-DDA), were used to determine the recovery of the method and to evaluate the utility of this device for GC analysis of insect pheromones at the nanogram level. The results demonstrated the potentials of this device for GC analysis of volatile components both on packed columns and capillary columns. The advantage of headspace collection is that it avoids interference from non-volatile contaminants and the advantage of nonsolvent thermal desorption injection is to avoid the lOss of pheromone while concentrating the eluted solution. The reported methed combines these two advantages. The author also discusses the ways to further improve the method.
