Abstract: persuasive messages are central to interpersonal influence in online communities, where consumers interact mainly through text. we employed a combination of netnography and computer-mediated discourse analysis to investigate how consumers exchange information related to products and brands in an online community. we identified a set of rhetorical strategies used by community members, including setting expectations, claiming expertise, prescribing, and celebrating acquiescence. consumers employ these rhetorical strategies to influence each other's consumption decisions, report consumption decisions back to the community, and to gauge their influence on each other's choices. we compare this process to traditional types of interpersonal influence and discuss how our findings contribute to advancing the burgeoning literature on interpersonal influence in online contexts.

Abstract: purpose: to assess the body balance of individuals exposed to occupational noise in a printing industry. this is a descriptive, retrospective study. methods: the objective measurement of body balance was performed by the method of dynamic posturography, using the protocol of sensorial integration tests. we evaluated the responses of 34 male subjects, divided into two groups, with 16 workers exposed to noise aged 45.81 ± 7.38 years and 16 subjects with no exposure to occupational noise aged 41.31 ± 5.58 years. the average exposure time was 20.00 ± 8.0046 years. the results were compared using the t test, considering statistically significant differences as the p value less than or equal to 0.05. results: all tests showed statistically significant differences among the groups, with individuals exposed to occupational noise showing demoted values of body balance in relation to non-exposed ones. conclusion: the occupational noise exposure is associated with a worse performance in the assessment of balance in all conditions tested by dynamic posturography.

Abstract: otoneurological evaluations are based on tests which investigate auditory and vestibular disorders, including brainstem evoked auditory potentials and vecto-electronystagmography. aim: to describe the results from the otoneurological assessment of patients with vestibulocochlear complaints, normal hearing individuals and patients with hearing loss, and we will compare them to a control group. materials and methods: cross-sectional, retrospective, observational study, held with 56 dizzy patients assessed by means of audiometry, vecto-electronystagmography and brainstem evoked auditory potential, broken down into group a, with 31 normal-hearing individuals and group b with 25 hearing loss patients, compared to the control group made up of ten normal-hearing asymptomatic individuals. results: patients from groups a and b were compared to the control group, although with values within the normal range. a common finding for both groups was the lack of wave i at 80 dbhl and it happened bilaterally in four individuals (12.9%) and unilaterally in three (9.6%) for group a; and bilaterally in eight individuals from group b (32%). in the two cases in which vecto-electronystagmography showed central vestibular alteration, there were no changes to the evoked potential parameters. conclusion: patients with vertigo, normal-hearing and hearing loss individuals had increased absolute latencies when compared to the control group

Abstract: A globaliza o trouxe consigo diversos dilemas à sociedade e a economia.

Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2016.64068
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to develop a Human Capital Report focused on the competency profile of the key employees. Employing the case study of Biomedical Branch of University of Florence, we have designed a strategy map centred on key stakeholders: students, university, didactic and research centres, businesses. Furthermore, we have designed a model for the management of human resources, integrating two different approaches: individual and organic. On the basis of this model, semi-structured interview was carried out to obtain rich data on the current competences of key employees, divided in three personal characteristics for each strategic theme: knowledge, skills, aptitudes. The results of our analysis show where the competences of the key personnel are lacking, the strategic initiatives to take in the future, and the lead indicators to use for measure the effects of the initiatives. This study contributes to the previous literature, describing how university institutes can measure the human capital readiness.

Educa??o em Revista , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-46982012000400008
Abstract: this article presents the results of a study whose main purpose was to analyze the meanings attributed to the recycling of solid residues by a group of children of a municipal school located in sao leopoldo , brazil. these schoolchildren had their existence tied to that work. empirical data was composed by interviews, conducted with eight children, which were based on pictures that they had previously drawn and notes registered in field diary. the theoretical framework of this research is based on michel foucault's thinking, wittgenstein's later ideas and the work of zygmunt bauman. it was possible to infer from the research data analysis that those children participated in the recycling work mainly because they wanted to consume, being integrated into consumer society via "differential inclusion"; and that they practiced specific mathematical language games, even though they maintained family resemblance with those that constitute school mathematics.
