Abstract: the purpose of this study is to discuss the contribution of recent studies for understanding the conditions that make extended learning paths possible in low-income segments. the meticulous analysis of its results and an interview with a student of a highly selective higher education course from this background enables us to raise some issues. the review of some studies on the subject evidencing the central role of the family in extended learning paths also enables us to question some of the meanings commonly assigned to extended learning in low-income segments, such as conformism, suffering, and cultural disruption. the need for further investigation on the role of school, as well as on the existence of other meanings related to school access and the experience of poor students in higher education courses has been made evident.

Abstract: Adolescence, in a general sense, has been understood as a linear phase in human development. In this paper, we question this conception and work out the understanding of adolescence, psyche, and human development mediated by the assumptions of cultural-historical theory. For this reflection, we adopted as a reference the theoretical and interpretive framework developed from a qualitative research carried out with health professionals on the senses and meanings of adolescence. The data analysis showed the prevalence of a naturalizedview of adolescence, contributing to the invisibility of the concrete adolescent subjects in the educational practices in health care. As the National Adolescent and Youth Health Care Policy (2007) states on the need of educational and preventive practices with regard to this population, one understands the actions must be provided through a reflective process on adolescence and human development. Thus, these actions will be more effective if opportunities for reflection are created, taking into account multiple variables in the understanding of adolescence, allowing us, this way, to conceive it as a social construct rather than a natural stage in human development.

Abstract: This article intends to present some reflections on the importance of the students' participation in the organization of the work in the school. It is a presupposition that the implementation of the democratic administration in the public school necessarily demand to consider the part that the students occupy in the process of organization of the pedagogic work. The text, based in obtained results from a research accomplished at a school of the from S o Paulo state net that assists to the elementary school teaching(final series) and high school teaching, it examines the theme of theparticipation in the administration of the public school; the user-students' participation in the organization of the pedagogic work and the results of professionals' actions with views to the democratization of the school administration, especially concerning to the execution of the access and permanence right in the school. It argues, finally, about the importance of the implementation of solid politics that contribute to the democratization of the school practices.

Abstract: This article will discuss one of the central changes in the journalist routines in the convergence and technology context: their relationship with sources of information. For this reason, we take up the concept of source and its application to radio journalism, and, through examples, we place this discussion in a broader discussion: the use of technological tools in radio language. We do here a theorical review and a initial approach between convergence studies and radio journalism. The discussions are focused in authors from journalism theory, radio journalism and communication studies and convergence.

Abstract: this article is an introductory presentation to bergson?s analysis of ontological dualism and his critical dialogue with the modern tradition. the proposal of metaphysical reconstruction demands a study of cartesian dualism to dissolve the antithetical positions of conceptual thought. in this way, bergson?s philosophy makes an analytical dissolution of human experience and determines two domains of reality. only the idea of duration can solve the tensions of bergson?s dualism.

Abstract: this paper examines the meanings constructed around adolescence, with their implications for the practices of physicians and nurses working within the family health strategy (fhs) in a municipality in the interior of the state of s?o paulo. the analysis was based on interviews and showed that immobility regarding collective actions was reinforced by predominance of a natural, universal and pathological view that positioned adolescence at a place not within the work routine of family health teams. for this reason, there is a need to rethink the conceptualizations, starting from the position that these professionals occupy in the labor market.

Abstract: the present paper had the objective of checking if the professional who will be engaged in the job market had received proper orientation and training to act in rural working safety, to establish relations between professional orientation and the information which will be given to rural growers. as research instrument, a questionnaire was used and applied to 209 growers and farm works, 156 graduated students of crop science at the londrina state university and 75 students of the agriculture high school manoel ribas, apucarana (pr). the data were collected during the months of june, july, and august 2006. the results showed that neither the farm works and growers nor the students were conscious of safety in rural labor. therefore, we suggest the inclusion of the course safety and hygiene in rural labor in the core curriculum for the preparation of crop science students. it is also necessary to put into practice the rules of occupation accident prevention for rural labor and a permanent recycling of professionals working in this area through training program and access to current information to be alternatives in preventing accidents become a necessity.
