Antifouling Activity of Simple Synthetic Diterpenoids against Larvae of the Barnacle Balanus albicostatus Pilsbry

Abstract: Five new pimarane diterpenoids 1-5 were synthesized using ent-8(14)-pimarene-15R,16-diol as starting material. The structures were elucidated by means of extensive NMR and MS analysis. The antifouling activity against larval settlement of the barnacle Balanus albicostatus were evaluated using capsaicin as a positive control. Compounds 1-3 and 5 showed more potent antifouling activity than capsaicin. Compound 5, which exhibited almost the same antifouling activity as starting material, showed better stability than starting material. These compounds all showed antifouling activity in a non-toxic way against larval settlement of the barnacle B. albicostatus. Analysis of structure-activity relationships (SAR) demonstrated that the substituents on the C-15 and C-16 position of pimarane diterpenoid were responsible for the antifouling activity.
Analysis of equation of state and thermodynamic functions for trans-decahydronaphthalene up to 200~MPa and 446~K

Abstract: This paper develops a modified Tait equation of state (EOS) for trans-decahydronaphthalene with four parameters A, B, V0 and P0 being treated as linear functions of temperature. The coefficients contained in these functions are determined through fitting the experimental compression data in the literature between 293~K and 446~K and at pressures from 10 to 200~MPa. Expressions for the thermal expansivity, isothermal compressibility and thermodynamic quantities are deduced and the numerical results are analytically derived. The numerical results show that the precision of the modified Tait EOS developed in this paper is superior to the EOS in the literature.
Coaction of Spheroid-Derived Stem-Like Cells and Endothelial Progenitor Cells Promotes Development of Colon Cancer

Abstract: Although some studies described the characteristics of colon cancer stem cells (CSCs) and the role of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in neovascularization, it is still controversial whether an interaction exists or not between CSCs and EPCs. In the present study, HCT116 and HT29 sphere models, which are known to be the cells enriching CSCs, were established to investigate the roles of this interaction in development and metastasis of colon cancer. Compared with their parental counterparts, spheroid cells demonstrated higher capacity of invasion, higher tumorigenic and metastatic potential. Then the in vitro and in vivo relationship between CSCs and EPCs were studied by using capillary tube formation assay and xenograft models. Our results showed that spheroid cells could promote the proliferation, migration and tube formation of EPCs through secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Meanwhile, the EPCs could increase tumorigenic capacity of spheroid cells through angiogenesis. Furthermore, higher microvessel density was detected in the area enriching cancer stem cells in human colon cancer tissue. Our findings indicate that spheroid cells possess the characteristics of cancer stem cells, and the coaction of CSCs and EPCs may play an important role in the development of colon cancer.
Electronic energy and life span probability distribution of the HgS/CdS/HgS spherical nanometer system

Abstract: The physical Model for the spherical HgS/CdS/HgS nanometer system and equations satistied by the electron motion are built. The energy and life span of s-electr on and the variation of the probability distribution with the width of the poten tial barrier and well are probed. Some important results indicate that the ener gy and life span of the electron increase with the increase of the potential bar rier width; electronic energy decreases with the increase of the potential well width, however the electronic life span is increased. The interaction between la yers has an important influence on the results.

Abstract: 老年阶段进入依恋研究者的视野是上个世纪90年代之后才陆续开始的.十几年来,该领域积累了不少研究成果.一系列研究考查了不同依恋对象对老年人生活的影响,包括对兄弟姐妹、成年子女、配偶、父母的依恋以及一种特殊的依恋:符号化依恋;不少研究发现了依恋模式分布的年龄效应,冷漠型和安全型依恋是老年依恋的主要模式,这与年轻成人的分布有很大差异;当前关于老年依恋的心理功能研究主要集中于以下两大领域:(1)老年依恋与慢性疾病中的照料;(2)老年依恋与心理健康.对于老年人依恋的研究还远未达到成熟的地步,老年依恋的测量工具亟待改进,跨文化的研究也需要进一步推广.
The influence of the layer-to-layer interaction energy on the electronic energy in HgS/CdS/HgS columnar nanometer system

Abstract: The variation of the electronic energy in a columnar nanometer system with the i ncrease of radius is established, and the HgS/CdS/HgS nanometer system is used to discuss the influence of the layer_to_layer interaction energy on the electr onic energy spectrum of electrons. Some important results indicate that the ene rgy of the electronic energy increases with the increase of the potential barrie r width and the wave vector, while the potential well width and the layer_to_la yer interaction energy makes the electronic energy larger, but it doesn't effec t the variation of electronic energy with the potential well width, potential ba rrier or the wave vector.
Increased expression of heat shock protein 105 in rat uterus of early pregnancy and its significance in embryo implantation

Abstract: Spatio-temporal expression of Hsp105 in rat uterus during peri-implantation period was examined by immunohistochemistry and Western blot, pseudopregnant uterus was used as control. Injection of antisense oligodeoxynucleotides to Hsp105 into pregnant rat uteri was carried out to look at effect of Hsp105 on embryo implantation.Expression of Hsp105 was mainly in the luminal epithelium on day 1 of pregnancy, and reached a peak level on day 5, whereas in stroma cells, adjacent to the implanting embryo, the strongest expression of Hsp105 was observed on day 6. The immunostaining profile in the uterus was consistent with that obtained by Western blot in the early pregnancy. In contrast, no obvious peak level of Hsp105 was observed in the uterus of pseudopregnant rat on day 5 or day 6. Furthermore, injection of antisense oligodeoxynucleotides to Hsp105 into the rat uterine horn on day 3 of pregnancy obviously suppressed the protein expression as expected and reduced number of the implanted embryos as compared with the control.Temporal and spatial changes in Hsp105 expression in pregnant rat uterus may play a physiological role in regulating embryo implantation.Heat shock proteins (Hsps) have been identified in all eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms[1]. They may act as molecular chaperones by preventing aggregation and assisting refolding of misfolded proteins [2-4]. Hsps could be induced in response to a physiological effect or environmental effect of stress, such as elevation in temperature, oxidative stress, viral infection, nutritional deficiency, or toxic chemical exposure [5,6]. On the basis of molecular weight, mammalian Hsps have been classified into various families, including Hsp105, 90, 70, 60, and other small Hsps [4,7]. Abstract: 以过氧化苯甲酰(BPO)为引发剂,使石蜡与甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)单体接枝共聚.用红外和综合热重法对其结构和热性能进行了分析.研究了反应温度、反应时间、引发剂含量以及单体的用量对接枝率的影响,确定了合成高接枝率产物的优化工艺条件.结果表明,当反应温度为100℃,反应时间为3h,BPO以及单体的用量分别为0.1g和3ml时,接枝率最高.石蜡与MMA的接枝成功拓宽了石蜡的相变温度,其相变潜热最高可提高近50%.最后,分析了接枝共聚物分子结构与其相交温度和潜热的关系.
