Habilidades em consciência fonológica: diferen?as no desempenho de meninos e meninas

Abstract: purpose: to check possible differences among pre-school boys and girls in literacy process, regarding their performance in phonological awareness (pa) tasks. method: 75 boys and 88 girls, aged between 5:6 and 8:0, submitted to an assessment involving a form sent to the parents, a complete speech and language screening, the assessment of the intellectual and writing levels and the abilities in phonological awareness (pa). for a statistical data analysis we applied the two-way anova, tukey and t-student tests. results: girls showed a positive significance in the tasks: syllabic segmentation with four syllable words (p=0.03); syllabic detection in the initial position (p=0.05), final position (p=0.01) and intermediary position (p=0.04). in the percentage analysis of the average in correct answers per task, boys' performance was only higher in tasks of sentence segmentation in words, with two (average=7.52), three (average=5.79), four (average=4.56), five (average=3.93) and six words (average=3.56) and in the nominal realism (average=8.93). conclusion: we found a significant superior performance of the girls in the tasks of syllabic detection and syllabic segmentation with four-syllable words. in a qualitative analysis, girls obtained higher averages in all tasks of awareness and rhymes, syllables and phonemes.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: verificar se existem diferen as entre meninas e meninos pré-escolares e em processo de alfabetiza o, quanto ao desempenho em tarefas de consciência fonológica (CF). MéTODO: a amostra foi constituída de 75 crian as do sexo masculino e 88 do sexo feminino, com idades entre 5:6 e 8:0, avaliadas por meio de questionário enviado aos pais, triagem fonoaudiológica completa, avalia o do nível intelectual, do nível de escrita e das habilidades em CF. A análise estatística foi realizada pelos testes: ANOVA de Duas Vias complementado pelo teste Tukey, e Teste t de Student. RESULTADOS: o sexo feminino apresentou significancia positiva nas tarefas: segmenta o silábica com palavras quadrissílabas (p=0,03); detec o silábica posi o inicial (p=0,05), posi o final (p=0,01) e posi o medial (p=0,04). Na análise percentual da média de acertos por tarefa, o desempenho dos meninos foi superior apenas nas tarefas de segmenta o de frases em palavras com duas (média=7,52), três (média=5,79), quatro (média=4,56), cinco (média=3,93) e seis palavras (média=3,56), e no realismo nominal (média=8,93). CONCLUS ES: encontrou-se desempenho significantemente superior das meninas em tarefas de segmenta o silábica com quadrissílabos e de detec o silábica. Em análise qualitativa, as meninas obtiveram médias mais elevadas em todas as tarefas de consciência e rimas, de sílabas e de fonemas. Abstract: purpose: to analyze the performance in phonological awareness tasks (pa), according to sex and writing hypothesis. methods: forty-three preschool children - 19 male and 24 female - were submitted to a complete speech-language pathology screening, and carried out an evaluation of their writing level and their pa abilities. the data were statistically analyzed using two-way and one-way anova. results: as a result, there was a statistically significant relationship between pa and gender in subjects with syllabic-alphabetical and alphabetical writing levels. awareness for words was more developed among male subjects, while female individuals had significantly better performances in syllabic segmentation tasks with three-syllable words, which evidenced their better abilities in dealing with syllabic analysis. conclusions: it's concluded that the female subjects showed greater ability to analyze smaller units in longer words, which might suggest a possible relationship between the low rate of phonological deviations in female individuals and their better performance in pa.

Abstract: La seguridad, entendida como un tema público, contiene un significado político, y se constituye en torno a actores validados: el Estado y la ciudadanía. El presente artículo reflexiona respecto del carácter ciudadano que tiene la seguridad en nuestro medio, y las consecuencias que este enfoque conlleva, en tanto ejercicio de deberes y derechos ciudadanos en pos de conseguir o generar seguridad para el colectivo. La perspectiva que ha asumido la implementación de las iniciativas de seguridad en nuestro país presuponen y descansan en la idea de una sociedad civil fortalecida, capaz de hacerse cargo de administrar ciertas tareas relativas a la seguridad. A partir de esta situación surgen de inmediato algunos cuestionamientos: qué rol específico le compete a la ciudadanía?, cuál es el límite de este rol?, estamos realmente frente a una sociedad civil fuerte que es capaz de hacerse cargo de temas de seguridad?, y de qué manera se hacen compatibles estos roles con otros actores sociales?

Abstract: the social function of property oscillates on a paradox that the juridical and political theories of the postwar period hide through the idea of the rule of law and the welfare state. the social function of property illustrates that development of the communicative relations between politics and law, in which the first transfers its conflicts to the latter, turning political conflicts into legal ones. as it will be seen in this article, the result of that legal sublimation of the political conflicts is the symbolic generalization of the political expectations in the form of normative expectations, so that in those conditions they can be artificially tranquilized by the conditional programming of the law.

Abstract: purpose: to investigate monolingual and bilingual girls and boys performance, in the skills of phonological awareness. methods: questionnaire and hearing screening to select the sample, consisting of 89 students, aged 4:1 to 8:11-years old, 47 girls and 42 boys, of which 47 subjects were bilingual (portuguese and german) and 42 monolingual (portuguese). the selected sample was submitted to the assessment of skills in phonological awareness, applying the phonological awareness protocol (cielo, 2001) that suggests segmentation of sentences in words, nominal realism, rhyme detection, syllabic synthesis and segmentation, syllable detection, syllabic and phonemic reversion, phonemic exclusion, phoneme detection and phonemic synthesis and segmentation. for a quantitative data analysis, a statistical test of kruskal-wallis with p = 0.05 was taken when comparing the monolingual boys' and girls' performance, and the bilingual boys' and girls' performance by task of phonological awareness. results: when the bilingual subjects were analyzed, there was a statistical significance in the detection of rhyme with trisyllable (p=0,0087) and synthesis of four phonemes (p=0,0219), with advantage of girls, while in the analysis that compared monolingual boys and girls, the results were more balanced. conclusions: despite of almost lacking statistically significant results in the comparison among bilingual and monolingual boys and girls, female superiority was observed in most of phonological awareness tasks.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: investigar o desempenho de meninas e meninos, monolíngues e bilíngues, em habilidades de consciência fonológica. MéTODOS: questionário e triagem auditiva para selecionar a amostra, composta por 89 estudantes, faixa etária entre 4:1 a 8:11 anos de idade, 47 meninas e 42 meninos, dos quais 47 sujeitos eram bilíngues (português e alem o) e 42 monolíngues (português). A amostra selecionada foi submetida à avalia o das habilidades em consciência fonológica, com aplica o do Protocolo de Consciência Fonológica (Cielo, 2001) que prop e tarefas de segmenta o de frases em palavras; realismo nominal; detec o de rimas; síntese silábica; segmenta o silábica; detec o de sílabas; revers o silábica; exclus o fonêmica; detec o de fonemas; síntese fonêmica; segmenta o fonêmica e revers o fonêmica. Para uma análise quantitativa dos dados, realizou-se o teste estatístico de Kruskal-Wallis com p=0,05 quando se comparou o desempenho de meninos e meninas monolíngues, bem como o desempenho de meninos e meninas bilíngues por tarefa de CF. RESULTADOS: quando analisados os sujeitos bilíngues, houve significancia estatística na detec o de rima com trissílabos (p=0,0087) e na síntese de quatro fonemas (p=0,0219), com vantagem das meninas; já na análise que comparou meninos e meninas monolíngues, os resultados foram mais equilibrados. CONCLUS ES: apesar de praticamente n o existirem resultados estatisticamente significantes na compara o entre meninos e meninas bilíngues e monolíngues, observou-se superioridade feminina na maioria das tarefas de consciência fonológica. Feeding behavior of two exotic aphid species on their original hosts in a new invaded area

Abstract: greenidea ficicola takahashi and greenidea psidii van der goot (aphididae: greenideinae) are asian aphid species newly introduced in brazil associated with moraceae and myrtaceae. the feeding behavior of g. ficicola and g. psidii was investigated on their respective host plants, ficus benjamina (moraceae) and psidium guajava (myrtaceae), using the electrical penetration graph (epg). fifteen females of each aphid species were monitored during 24h using a dc-epg giga-4 monitor. the time spent in phloem phase (waveforms e1 and e2) was 13.6% of the total recording time for g. ficicola and 0.8% for g. psidii. the average time in the pathway phase (waveforms c and pd) represented 50% of the total time for both species. aphids spent more time in non-penetration and stylet pathway activities than in the phloem phase or actual feeding. the principal component analysis (pca) showed that the two species formed different groups in relation to epg parameters, despite some overlapping. the probing patterns with multiple penetrations of short duration in the sieve elements for both species may indicate apparent unsuitability for sustained feeding on their respective host plants. these results suggest that these two exotic species are in the process of adaptation to their host plants in their new environment and/or the plants may present either chemical or physical barriers against these insects.

Abstract: the nmr spectra of salts formed from calix[4]arene and aliphatic amines in cd3cn are in agreement with a exo-calix position of the ammonium cation. the chemical shifts (d) of aromatic and methylenic hydrogens of calix[4]arene were almost the same for the amines utilized. the coalescence temperatures (tc) were obtained and fall in the range between 32 and 38 oc, and is higher for more basic amines, and was not observed dependence with the shape of the amine.
